Abstract
Negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors feature higher sensitivities and faster response speeds and thereby have particular applications in many fields. However, current NTC thermistors are mostly based on inorganic ceramic materials, which show obvious drawbacks in material synthesis, property modulation, and flexible film fabrication. Herein, we report, for the first time, the promising application of an inorganic-organic hybrid NTC thermistor. A new lead-free hybrid iodo bismuthate [1,1',1″-(benzene-1,3,5-triyl)tris(3-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium)]Bi2I9 [denoted as (Me3TMP)Bi2I9] was synthesized by a "double-free" strategy. (Me3TMP)Bi2I9 features a lead-free binuclear bismuth iodine anion charge compensated by a "classic hydrogen-bond-free" cation. (Me3TMP)Bi2I9 exhibits remarkable stability in water and UV light irradiation and shows the largest temperature sensitivity coefficient among all reported NTC materials. Theoretical calculation and detailed structural analysis disclose that the seriously distorted (BiI6) octahedra are responsible for the intriguing NTC effect for (Me3TMP)Bi2I9.

Abstract
With the increase of the passion on lead-free perovskites, more and more endeavor focused on halobismuthates. Here, we have introduced the p-iodoaniline and p-phenylenediamine into Bi-based hybrid materials, and two photoactive iodobismuthate named p-phenylenediamine iodobismuthate (PDABI) and p-iodoaniline iodobismuthate (PIDBI) were prepared. Their single structures, band gaps, thermostability and other properties were explored. The structure results revealed that they all have 1D BiI4 - anion chains with edge-shared BiI6 octahedron. The DFT result revealed that PIDBI had an inherent interaction between the I substituent in p-iodoaniline cation and the Bi atom in inorganic BiI4 - anion chains. The photodetector assembled by PDABI and PIDBI revealed that the interaction provided by symmetric p-phenylenediamine has a positive effect on PIDBI's optoelectronic properties compared to the role of asymmetric p-iodoaniline in PDABI.

Abstract
The design and synthesis of eco-friendly solid-supported metal nanoparticles with remarkable stability and catalytic performance have gained much attention for both industrial and environmental applications. This study provides a novel, low-cost, simple, and eco-friendly approach for decorating cross-linked chitosan with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), greenly prepared with Solenostemma argel (S. argel) leaf extract under mild conditions. Glutaraldehyde-modified chitosan beads were used to coordinate with Au(III) ions and act as stabilizing agents, and S. argel leaf extract was used as a cost-effective phyto-reducing agent to reduce gold ions to elemental Au nanoparticles. The successful cross-linking of chitosan with glutaraldehyde, the coordination of Au(III) ions into the chitosan matrix, and the phytochemical reduction of Au(III) to Au nanoparticles were investigated via FT-IR spectroscopy. The obtained Au nanoparticles have a uniform spherical shape and size <10 nm, as confirmed by both X-ray diffraction (XRD) (~8.8 nm) and TEM (6.0 ± 3 nm). The uniformity of the AuNPs' size was confirmed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Transition Electron Microscopy (TEM). The powder X-ray diffraction technique showed crystalline AuNPs with a face-centered cubic structure. The elemental analysis and the Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) analysis both confirmed the successful integration of Au nanoparticles with the chitosan network. The catalytic activity of this highly stable nanocomposite was systematically investigated via the selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde. Results showed a remarkable conversion (97%) and excellent selectivity (99%) in the formation of benzaldehyde over other side products.
