Abstract
The combination of visible light irradiation and Pd-catalysis has been practically employed for the C-H alkylation reactions of naphthylamines and α-diazo esters, leading to the synthesis of α-naphthyl functionalized acetates via C-C bond construction under mild reaction conditions and under solvent-free conditions. The light irradiation has been proven to play a pivotal role in the reactions, probably by promoting the generation of active carbene species from α-diazo esters.

Abstract
A combined cobalt and photoredox catalysis system to realize the C8-H alkoxylation of 1-naphthylamine derivatives with alcohols was developed. Using commercially available alkyl alcohols as raw materials and Co(OAc)2 and rose bengal as catalysts, 1-naphthylamine derivatives reacted with alcohols to generate the corresponding C8-H alkoxylation products in good yields.

Abstract
5,11-Diazadibenzo[hi,qr]tetracene was synthesized as a new nitrogen-substituted polycyclic heteroaromatic compound by Pd-catalyzed cycloisomerization of an alkyne precursor followed by oxidative cyclization with bis(trifluoroacetoxy)iodobenzene. The substitution of imine-type nitrogen atoms significantly enhanced its electron-accepting character and facilitated the direct nucleophilic addition of arylamines under strongly basic conditions to afford the desired amino-substituted products. The introduction of amino groups induced a remarkable red-shift in their absorption spectra; the tetrasubstituted product exhibited intense near-infrared absorbing property. Furthermore, the π-electronic system, which includes a redox-active 1,4-diazabutadiene moiety, underwent reversible interconversion to its corresponding reduced form upon reduction with NaBH4 and aerobic oxidation.

Abstract
A simple and efficient protocol for palladium-catalyzed C8-H alkoxycarbonylation of 1-naphthylamine derivatives with alkyl chloroformates has been developed, exhibiting broad functional group tolerance, high regioselectivity, and oxidant-free conditions. Furthermore, the reaction features its ease of further functionalization and transformation. For example, the concise synthesis of one BET bromodomain inhibitor was accomplished via benz[cd]indol-2(1H)-one after multistep transformations from the obtained alkoxycarbonylation product. In addition, the control experiments suggest that the reaction might involve a radical process and the C-H bond cleavage might not be involved in the rate-determining step.
