Abstract
A novel method for the synthesis of quinazolin-4(3H)-imines (QIs) by trimethylsilyl polyphosphate (PPSE) promoted reaction of 2-aminobenzonitrile with secondary amides is reported. The reaction is general and allows for the synthesis of N3-aryl and N3-alkyl QIs with variable 2-substituents affording high yields. The procedure was extended to derivatives bearing additional functional groups. The method is operationally simple, involves easily available starting materials and a mild dehydrating agent, with wide functional group tolerance. The reaction procedure proved to be suitable for scaling-up. A possible reaction path via an intermediate nitrilium ion is proposed on the basis of literature data and experimental observations.

Abstract
AbstractA series of acyl fluorides was synthesized at 100 mmol scale using phase-transfer-catalyzed halogen exchange between acyl chlorides and aqueous bifluoride solution. The convenient procedure consists of vigorous stirring of the biphasic mixture at room temperature, followed by extraction and distillation. Isolated acyl fluorides (usually 7–20 g) display excellent purity and can be transformed into sterically hindered amides and esters when treated with lithium amide bases and alkoxides under mild conditions.

Abstract
Tf2 O mediated intermolecular / intramolecular [2+2+2] cycloaddition between alkynes and nitriles has been developed for efficient construction of polysubstituted pyrimidines and bicyclopyrimidines. In presence of Tf2 O, aza-allene species were generated in situ through nitrile activation and subsequently participated in the [2+2+2] cycloaddition, which was fully supported by deuteration experiments. The reaction had good substrate extensibility with moderate to excellent yield including trimethylsilylalkynes. The method was utilized as a synthetic tool in the preparation of a luminescent metal complex.
