Abstract
The same δ-acetoxy allenoates and thioamides, under DABCO, pyridine, or tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide (TBAB) catalysis, undergo distinctly different annulations giving chemoselective routes to dihydrothiophene, thiopyran, or thiazole motifs. Thus, using pyridine in [3 + 2] annulation, dihydrothiophenes are obtained as essentially single diastereomers. By contrast, under DABCO catalysis, allenoates deliver thiopyran motifs in good to high yields through 6-exo-dig cyclization. In the thiazole forming [3 + 2] annulation, tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide (TBAB) facilitates addition-elimination and 5-exo-trig cyclization in which β- and γ-carbons of allenoates participate to deliver thiazole cores exclusively with a Z-isomeric exocyclic double bond. A possible rationale for these observations is delved into.

Abstract
Lewis base catalysis provides powerful synthetic strategies for the selective construction of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds. Thus continuous efforts have been deployed to develop effective methodologies involving Lewis base catalysis. The nucleophilicity and steric hindrance of Lewis base catalyst often plays a major role in catalytic reactivity and selectivity in the reaction. In the past decades, tremendous progress has been made in the divergent construction of valuable motifs under Lewis base catalysis. In this review, we provide a comprehensive and updated summary of Lewis base-catalysed chemo-, diastereo- and enantiodivergent reaction, as well as the related mechanism will be highlighted in detail.

Abstract
The kinetics of quinuclidine displacement of BH3 from a wide range of Lewis base borane adducts have been measured. Parameterization of these rates has enabled the development of a nucleofugality scale (NFB), shown to quantify and predict the leaving group ability of a range of other Lewis bases. Additivity observed across a number of series R'3-nRnX (X = P, N; R' = aryl, alkyl) has allowed the formulation of related substituent parameters (nfPB, nfAB), providing a means of calculating NFB values for a range of Lewis bases that extends far beyond those experimentally derived. The utility of the nucleofugality parameter is explored by the correlation of the substituent parameter nfPB with the hydrolyses rates of a series of alkyl and aryl MIDA boronates under neutral conditions. This has allowed the identification of MIDA boronates with heteroatoms proximal to the reacting center, showing unusual kinetic lability or stability to hydrolysis.

A DFT study of the double (3 + 2) cycloaddition of nitrile oxides and allenoates for the formation of spirobiisoxazolines. J Mol Graph Model 2021; 109:108033. Abstract
The molecular mechanism of the double (3 + 2) cycloaddition (32CA) reaction between nitrile oxides and allenoates has been studied using density functional theory at the M06-2X/6-311G (d,p) level of theory. In the first 32CA, the nitrile oxide adds chemo- and regio-selectively to the C-C double bond of the allenoate closest to the carboxylate group followed by a subsequent regioselective addition to the olefinic bond of the isoxazoline intermediate. The rate constant for the preferred pathway (formation of 4-methylene-2-isoxazoline intermediate) in the reaction of ethyl substituted allenoate and mesitonitrile oxide is 5.3 × 102 s-1 in THF which is about 13 times faster than the closest competing step (formation of its regioisomer 5-methylene-2-isoxazoline intermediate) which has a rate constant of 4.4 × 101 s-1. Strong electron-donating groups (EDGs) and electron-withdrawing groups (EWGs) decrease activation barriers and hence increase the reaction rate. Also, the dimerization of nitrile oxide to form furaxon is found to be kinetically unfavored.

Abstract
Organocatalysts are abundantly used for various transformations, particularly to obtain highly enantio- and diastereomeric pure products by controlling the stereochemistry. These applications of organocatalysts have been the topic of several reviews. Organocatalysts have emerged as one of the very essential areas of research due to their mild reaction conditions, cost-effective nature, non-toxicity, and environmentally benign approach that obviates the need for transition metal catalysts and other toxic reagents. Various types of organocatalysts including amine catalysts, Brønsted acids, and Lewis bases such as N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalysts, cinchona alkaloids, 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP), and hydrogen bond-donating catalysts, have gained renewed interest because of their regioselectivity. In this review, we present recent advances in regiodivergent reactions that are governed by organocatalysts. Additionally, we briefly discuss the reaction pathways of achieving regiodivergent products by changes in conditions such as solvents, additives, or the temperature.
