Abstract
A 2-fold interpenetrating 3D pillar-layered MOF, which was assembled from a mixed-linker and paddle-wheel cluster, was successfully synthesized. It possesses good thermal and water stability as well as high selectivity for C2H6 over CH4 and CO2 over N2 under ambient conditions, which was further proved by breakthrough experiments. Moreover, this porous material exhibits good detection of Cu2+, [Co(NH3)6]3+ and Fe3+ in an aqueous solution.

Abstract
Comprehensive understanding of substituent groups located on the pore surface of metal-organic frameworks (which we call substituent engineering herein) can help to promote gas adsorption and catalytic performance through ligand functionalization. In this work, pore-space-partitioned metal-organic frameworks (PSP MOFs) were selected as a platform to evaluate the effect of organic functional groups on CO2 adsorption, separation, and catalytic conversion. Twelve partitioned acs metal-organic frameworks (pacs-MOFs, named SNNU-25-Rn here) containing different functional groups were synthesized, which can be classified into electron-donor groups (-OH, -NH2, -CH3, and -OCH3) and electron-acceptor groups (-NO2, -F, -Cl, and -Br). The experimental results showed that SNNU-25-Rn with electron donors usually perform better than those with electron acceptors for the comprehensive utilization of CO2. The CO2 uptake of the 12 SNNU-25-Rn MOFs ranged from 30.9 to 183.6 cm3 g-1 at 273 K and 1 bar, depending on the organic functional groups. In particular, SNNU-25-OH showed the highest CO2 adsorption, SNNU-25-CH3 had the highest IAST of CO2/CH4 (36.1), and SNNU-25-(OH)2 showed the best catalytic activity for the CO2 cycloaddition reaction. The -OH functionalized MOFs with excellent performance may be attributed to the Lewis acid-base and hydrogen-bonding interactions between -OH groups and the CO2 molecules. This work modulated the effect of the microenvironment of MOFs on CO2 adsorption, separation, and catalysis in terms of substituents, providing valuable information for the precise design of porous MOFs with a comprehensive utilization of CO2.

Abstract
The development of metal-organic framework (MOF) adsorbents with a potential molecule sieving effect for CO2 capture and separation from flue gas is of critical importance for reducing the CO2 emissions to the atmosphere yet challenging. Herein, a cagelike MOF with a suitable cage window size falling between CO2 and N2 and the cavity has been constructed to evaluate its CO2/N2 separation performance. It is noteworthy that the introduction of coordinated dimethylamine (DMA) and N,N'-dimethylformamide (DMF) molecules not only significantly reduces the cage window size but also enhances the framework-CO2 interaction via C-H···O hydrogen bonds, as proven by molecular modeling, thus leading to an improved CO2 separation performance. Moreover, transient breakthrough experiments corroborate the efficient CO2/N2 separation, revealing that the introduction of DMA and DMF molecules plays a vital role in the separation of a CO2/N2 gas mixture.

Abstract
The ZIF-8 crystals were successfully postsynthetically modified using methylamine (MA), ethylenediamine (ED), and N, N
-dimethylethylenediamine (MMEN) to improve their adsorption performance toward CO2. Results showed that, compared with the original ZIF-8, the BET specific surface area of MA-ZIF-8, MMEN-ZIF-8, and ED-ZIF-8 has increased by 118.2%, 92.0%, and 29.8%, respectively. In addition, their total pore volume increased separately by 130.8%, 100%, and 48.7%. The adsorption capacities of CO2 on the amine-modified ZIF-8 samples followed the order
. The CO2 adsorption capacities at 298 K on MA-ZIF-8, MMEN-ZIF-8, and ED-ZIF-8 were increased by 118.2%, 90.2%, and 29.8%, respectively. What is more, the CO2/N2 selectivities calculated using an IAST model of the amine@ZIF-8 samples at 0.01 bar and 298 K were also significantly improved and followed the order
, which increased by 173.0%, 121.4%, and 22.6%, respectively. The isosteric heat of CO2 adsorption (
) on the MA-ZIF-8, MMEN-ZIF-8, and ED-ZIF-8 all becomes higher, while
of N2 on these samples was slightly lower in comparison with that on the ZIF-8. Furthermore, after six recycle runs of gravimetric CO2 adsorption-desorption on MA-ZIF-8, the adsorption performance of CO2 is still very good, indicating that the MA-ZIF-8 sample has good regeneration performance and can be applied into industrial CO2 adsorption and separation.
