Abstract
MOF-derived photocatalytic materials have potential in degrading ciprofloxacin (CIP) in water and HCHO gas pollutants. Novel derivatization means and defect regulation are effective techniques for improving the performance of MOF-derived photocatalysis. Vacancy-rich Bi4O5Br2 (MBO-x) were derived in one step from Bi-MOF (CAU-17) by a modified double-solvent method. MBO-50 produced more oxygen vacancies due to the combined effect of the CAU-17 precursor and double solvents. The photocatalytic performance of MBO was evaluated by degrading CIP and HCHO. Thanks to the favorable morphology and vacancy structure, MBO-50 demonstrated the best photocatalytic efficiency, with 97.0% removal of CIP (20 mg L-1) and 90.1% removal of HCHO (6.5 ppm) at 60 min of light irradiation. The EIS Nyquist measurement, transient photocurrent response, photoluminescence spectra, and the calculation of energy band information indicated that the vacancy sites can effectively capture photoexcited electrons during the charge transfer process, thus limiting the recombination of electrons and holes, improving the energy band structure, and making it easier to produce superoxide anion radical (·O2-) and to degrade CIP and HCHO. The improvement of photocatalytic performance of MBO-50 in HCHO degradation due to the bromine vacancy generation and filling mechanism was discussed in detail. This work provides a promising new idea for the modulation of MOF-derived photocatalytic materials.

Abstract
The formose reaction is an autocatalytic series of aldol condensations that allows one to obtain monosaccharides from formaldehyde. The formose reaction suffers from a lack of selectivity, which hinders practical applications at the industrial level. Over the years, many attempts have been made to overcome this selectivity issue, with modest results. Heterogeneous porous catalysts with acid-base properties, such as Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), can offer advantages compared to homogeneous strong bases (e.g., calcium hydroxide) for increasing the selectivity of this important reaction. For the very first time, four different Zeolite Imidazolate Frameworks are presented in this work as catalysts for the formose reaction in liquid phase, and their catalytic performances were compared with those of the typical homogeneous catalyst (i.e., calcium hydroxide). The heterogeneous nature of the catalysis, the possible contribution of leached metal or linkers to the solution, and the stability of the materials were investigated. The porous structure of these solids and their mild basicity make them suitable for obtaining enhanced selectivity at 30% formaldehyde conversion. Most of the MOFs tested showed low structural stability under reaction conditions, thereby indicating the need to search for new MOF families with higher robustness. However, this important result opens the path for future research on porous heterogeneous basic catalysts for the formose reaction.

Abstract
Developing MOF-based catalysts with superior catalytic properties for the thermal decomposition of cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine (RDX) is significant for the application of novel and efficient combustion catalysts oriented to RDX-based propellants with excellent combustion performance. Herein, micro-sized Co-ZIF-L with a star-like morphology (SL-Co-ZIF-L) was found to exhibit unprecedented catalytic capability for the decomposition of RDX, which can lower the decomposition temperature of RDX by 42.9 °C and boost the heat release by 50.8%, superior to that of all the ever-reported MOFs and even ZIF-67, which has similar chemical composition but a much smaller size. In-depth mechanism study from both experimental and theoretical views reveals that the weekly interacted 2D layered structure of SL-Co-ZIF-L could activate the exothermic C-N fission pathway for the decomposition of RDX in the condensed phase, thus reversing the commonly advantageous N-N fission pathway and promoting the decomposition process in the low-temperature stage. Our study reveals the unusually superior catalytic capability of micro-sized MOF catalysts and sheds light on the rational structure design of catalysts used in micromolecule transformation reactions, typically the thermal decomposition of energetic materials.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) can be used as ideal artificial nanozymes for an open structure to transfer substances and products. The nanozymic mechanism of MOFs needs further investigation for wide application. In this manuscript, no peroxidase-like activity was found for ZIF-67 (a kind of MOF), however, it enhanced the peroxidase-like activity of the Fe0.8Ni0.2S2/ZIF-67 composite, in which Fe0.8Ni0.2S2 was the active composition. The catalytic constant (Kcat) is higher at 1.98 (for TMB) and 2.08 (for H2O2) times and the catalytic efficiency (Kcat/Km) is higher at 3.13 (for TMB) and 2.67 (for H2O2) times, than those of Fe0.8Ni0.2S2. The Km value decreased about 85 times (for H2O2) for Fe0.8Ni0.2S2/ZIF-67 than that of horseradish peroxidase (natural enzyme). The mechanism was proposed. The limit of detection of H2O2 for Fe0.8Ni0.2S2/ZIF-67 is 0.039 μM, which is lower by about 18.2 times than that of Fe0.8Ni0.2S2. Simultaneously, Fe0.8Ni0.2S2/ZIF-67 was used to rapidly detect ascorbic acid for only 1.0 min in food monitoring. This study may be important to design a new kind of nanozyme.
