Abstract
A silver-catalyzed cascade cyclization strategy has been developed for the synthesis of 4-aminotetrahydrocarbazole, a common core structure found in various alkaloids. This target molecule can be synthesized through a one-step tandem cyclization reaction, thereby eliminating the need for a prior synthesis of tetrahydrocarbazole. Furthermore, the use of chiral tert-butylsulfinamide facilitates in situ chiral resolution of the resulting product.

Abstract
We report the In(OTf)3-catalyzed formal (4 + 3) cycloaddition of 3-benzylideneindoline-2-thiones with 2-indolylmethanols. This reaction not only broadens the synthetic utility of 3-benzylideneindoline-2-thiones as scarce indole-based sulfur-containing four-atom building blocks, but also provides a rapid and facile access to synthesize diindole-annulated tetrahydrothiepines.

Abstract
Herein, a novel cascade gold(I)-catalyzed hydroarylation of alkynylindoles and subsequent Diels-Alder cycloaddition with electron-deficient alkynes and alkenes is described. A variety of azepino-fused hydrocarbazoles and carbazoles were obtained in moderate to excellent yields. Key features of this methodology are low catalyst loadings, high regioselectivity, broad functional group tolerances, access to important heterocycles, and 100% atom economy.
