Abstract
Visible-light-promoted metal- and photocatalyst-free radical cascade cyclization of cinnamamides with α-oxocarboxylic acids is described for sustainable synthesis of diverse pharmaceutically important dihydroquinolinone scaffolds in one pot under mild conditions. The decarboxylative cascade cyclization proceeded efficiently at room temperature without the need for expensive photocatalysts such as Ir or Ru complexes, which indicates the practicability and environmentally benign nature of this protocol. Preliminary mechanistic studies reveal that the blue LED irradiation efficiently cleaves the I-O bond of the hypervalent iodine reagent PhI(O2CCOAr)2 formed through ligand exchange between iodobenzene diacetate and arylglyoxylic acid to initiate the cascade reaction. The synthetic value of this operationally simple and energy-efficient method is further demonstrated by late-stage functionalization of drug molecules in excellent yields.

Abstract
Persulfate-promoted radical cascade trifluoromethylthiolation and cyclization of 3-alkyl-1-(2-(alkynyl)phenyl)indoles with AgSCF3 were investigated. This protocol provides a novel route to CF3S-substituted indolo[1,2-a]quinoline-7-carbaldehydes and CF3S-substituted indolo[1,2-a]quinoline-7-methanone derivatives via the formation of the C-SCF3 bond and C-C bond and benzylic carbon oxidation in a single step. This reaction can accommodate a broad range of functional groups. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction data confirm the chemical structure of the product. A scale-up experiment and radical inhibition experiments were operated in the reaction system. Photophysical properties of some selected 5-((trifluoromethyl)thio)indolo[1,2-a]quinoline-7-carbaldehydes were studied by UV-visible and fluorescence spectroscopy.

Abstract
Structurally novel 2-azaspiro[4.5]deca-1,6,9-trien-8-ones were synthesized from N-(2-propyn-1-yl) amides and 1,3,5-trimethoxybenzenes by a tandem method consisting of a Tf2O-promoted amide activation and a TfOH-promoted Friedel-Crafts ipso-cyclization. The method offered the first example of using N-(2-propyn-1-yl) amides as substrates in both Tf2O-promoted secondary amide activation and the synthesis of azaspiro[4.5]deca-6,9-diene-8-ones.

Abstract
The synthesis of γ-lactam-substituted quinone derivatives through a Ag2O-catalyzed cascade cyclization and functionalization of N-aryl-4-pentenamides has been developed. Related 2-oxazolidinone substituted quinone products can be also obtained with N-aryl allyl carbamates. The reactions proceed through an amidyl radical-initiated 5-exo-trig cyclization and followed radical addition to quinones. They provide an efficient route to various γ-lactam-substituted quinone derivatives with a wide range of substrate scope. The synthesis of γ-lactam and related 2-oxazolidinone substituted quinone derivatives through a Ag2O-catalyzed cascade cyclization and functionalization of N-ary-4-pentenamides and N-aryl allyl carbamates has been developed.![]()
