Abstract
The development of a thermogravimetry coupled to an atmospheric pressure photoionization mass spectrometry (TG-APPI-MS) with a high temperature and flexible transfer line is presented. A method was developed to analyze plasticizers in solution which consist of a solvent evaporation step and subsequent evaporation of the analyte. These solutions of dibutyl phthalate (DBP) in hexane were used to investigate the repeatability (RSD: 3.6%) and linearity (R2: 0.9995) of the new developed system. With the new device the detection of different phthalates in a standardized PVC (polyvinyl chloride) polymer is shown. On the example of ASA, the degradation of a pharmaceutical drug is investigated. The dimerization and the possible trimerization of ASA during the thermal degradation is shown. Ten tablets of different ASA manufacturers were analyzed with the new developed analysis platform. The active substance was found in every tablet. Differences in mass spectral data as well as the studying of the pack insert were used to assign the tablets to companies and their subsidiaries. A unique formulation of ASA was found to have a different mass pattern when analyzed with TG-APPI-qMS. The developed device is a promising tool for the product control and the identification of falsified drugs.

Abstract
We report absolute electron scattering cross sections sigma(p) for the production of CO within thin solid film of carbon dioxide (CO(2)) condensed on a solid Ar substrate. The CO fragments, which remain trapped within the bulk of the carbon dioxide film, are detected in situ by recording energy losses to their lowest triplet electronic state a (3)Pi using high-resolution electron-energy-loss spectroscopy. The production of CO is studied as a function of the electron exposure, film thickness, and incident electron energy between 2 and 30 eV, a range within which most of the secondary electrons are created in systems irradiated by high-energy particles. The energy dependence is characterized by a feature around 4 eV with sigma(p)=(7.0+/-4.0)x10(-18) cm(2), a minimum around 7 eV, a strong rise up to a large and broad maximum around 15 eV with sigma(p)=(5.4+/-2.5)x10(-17) cm(2), a decrease to a minimum around 18.5 eV, and finally a monotonous increase up to 30 eV. The CO production is discussed in terms of the formation of electron resonances or transient anion states, which may lead directly to the fragmentation of the molecule via dissociative electron attachment or indirectly by decaying into an entirely repulsive part of the corresponding excited neutral and positive ion states.

Abstract
The reaction of an aluminacyclopropene LAl[eta2-C2(SiMe3)2] (1, L = HC(CMeNAr)2, Ar = 2,6-iPr2C6H3) with CS2 in the temperature range from -78 degrees C to room temperature affords the first seven-membered aluminum sulfur-containing heterocyclic compound [LAl]2(mu-S)[eta2-SC(SiMe3)=C=C(SiMe3)] (2) bearing an allenyl group. The structural characterization of 2 and the analogous compound LAl[OC(O)C2(SiMe3)2] (3) of the proposed intermediate A and the variable-temperature 1H NMR kinetic study of this reaction may give a better understanding on this unusual conversion.
