Abstract
Photodissociation of acetaldehyde (CH3CHO) by UV excitation involves interwoven multiple reaction pathways, including nonradiative decay, isomerization, transition-state pathway, roaming, and other dissociation mechanisms. Recently, we employed picosecond time-resolved, pair-correlated product imaging in a study of acetaldehyde photodissociation at 267 nm to disentangle those competing mechanisms and to elucidate the possible roaming pathways (Yang, C. H.; Chem. Sci. 2020, 11, 6423-6430). Here, we complement the pair-correlated product speed distribution of CO(v = 0) at the high-j side of the CO rotational state distribution in the CO + CH4 channel and detail the two-dimensional data analysis of the time-resolved images. As a result, extensive comparisons with other studies can be made and the branching fractions of the previously assigned TScc(S0), non-TScc(S0), and CI(S1/S0) pathways for the CO(v = 0) + CH4 molecular channel are evaluated to be 0.74 ± 0.08, 0.15 ± 0.02, and 0.11 ± 0.02, respectively. Together with the macroscopic branching ratio between the molecular (CO + CH4) and radical (CH3 + HCO) channels at 267 nm from the literature, a global view of the microscopic pathways can then be delineated, which provides invaluable insights and should pave the way for further studies of this interesting system.

Abstract
Scattering resonance is a fascinating phenomenon which manifests as a peak or a dip in an observable as a function of collisional energy (Ec). Its occurrence requires a potential well to support the resonance states. In this regard, reactive resonance is unusual in that it can exist in a reaction with unbound Born-Oppenheimer potential energy surface, on which the quasi-bound states are dynamically trapped-meaning that some energy is temporarily tied to the other degrees of freedom than the reaction coordinate. The concept of vibrational adiabaticity has been the cornerstone in understanding this phenomenon, for which the vibrationally adiabatic well depth is of primary concern. Recent studies on the F + CH3D reaction have accumulated compelling evidence for a dominant resonance-mediated pathway at low Ec as well as for a rainbow feature in pair-correlated angular distribution at higher Ec. Here, we report an in-depth study to not only substantiate both claims but also, more importantly, make the first attempt to quantify the vibrationally adiabatic well depth directly from the observed rainbow structure and then compare with the theoretical prediction.

Abstract
We present a combined experimental and theoretical study of state-to-state inelastic scattering of ND3(j = 11-) with D2 (j = 0, 1, 2, 3) molecules at collision energies around 800 cm-1. Using a crossed molecular beam apparatus which employs the combination of Stark deceleration and velocity map imaging, we observe the correlated rotational excitations of both collision partners. For D2, both elastic (ΔjD2 = 0), inelastic excitation (j = 0 →j = 2) and inelastic de-excitation (j = 2 →j = 0) processes are observed. For a number of final ND3 states, inelastic channels in which D2 is rotationally excited or de-excited appear surprisingly strong. The experimental results are in excellent agreement with the predictions from quantum scattering calculations which are based on an ab initio ND3-D2 potential energy surface.

Abstract
The vibrational enhancement factor in the Cl + CHD3(v1 = 1) reaction is revisited over the collisional energy range of 2-5.9 kcal mol(-1). Contrary to the previous results obtained by probing the low-|N, K⟩ states of CD3(v = 0) products, CH stretching excitation becomes more efficacious than the same amount of translational energy in promoting the HCl(v) + CD3(v = 0) product pairs when all-|N, K⟩ states are probed. Whereas the new vibrational enhancement factors, which are three to four times larger than the previous report, agree reasonably well with a recent reduced-dimensionality quantum dynamics calculation, a cautious note is made on the different initial |J,K⟩ rotational selections of the CHD3 reactants in the present theory-experiment comparison.

Abstract
The experimental technique of velocity map imaging (VMI) enables measurements to be made of the dynamics of chemical reactions that are providing unprecedented insights about reactive scattering. This perspective article illustrates how VMI, in combination with crossed-molecular beam, dual-beam or photo-initiated (Photoloc) methods, can reveal correlated information on the vibrational quantum states populated in the two products of a reaction, and the angular scattering of products (the differential cross section) formed in specific rotational and vibrational levels. Reactions studied by VMI techniques are being extended to those of polyatomic molecules or radicals, and of molecular ions. Subtle quantum-mechanical effects in bimolecular reactions can provide distinct signatures in the velocity map images, and are exemplified here by non-adiabatic dynamics on coupled potential energy surfaces, and by experimental evidence for scattering resonances.

Abstract
The reaction of F with H2 and its isotopomers is the paradigm for an exothermic triatomic abstraction reaction. In a crossed-beam scattering experiment, we determined relative integral and differential cross sections for reaction of the ground F(2P(3/2)) and excited F*(2P(1/2)) spin-orbit states with D2 for collision energies of 0.25 to 1.2 kilocalorie/mole. At the lowest collision energy, F* is approximately 1.6 times more reactive than F, although reaction of F* is forbidden within the Born-Oppenheimer (BO) approximation. As the collision energy increases, the BO-allowed reaction rapidly dominates. We found excellent agreement between multistate, quantum reactive scattering calculations and both the measured energy dependence of the F*/F reactivity ratio and the differential cross sections. This agreement confirms the fundamental understanding of the factors controlling electronic nonadiabaticity in abstraction reactions.

Abstract
The study of state-to-state dynamics of elementary bimolecular reactions has provided remarkable insights into chemical reactivity at the most fundamental level. This review covers exciting developments in this important field in the past decade. I focus on recent studies of quantum-state-resolved molecular-beam reactive-scattering studies of elementary chemical reactions, from triatomic to polyatomic systems. Researchers have made great advances in the fundamental understanding of many elementary chemical reactions through state-to-state dynamics studies. The strong interaction between theory and experiment has significantly enhanced our understanding of the dynamics of these reactions. I hope this review provides a glimpse of this exciting research field to both experts and beginners.

Abstract
The vast majority of chemical reactions involve polyatomic species as reactants and/or products. The added degree of complexity offers opportunities to address dynamical questions other than those already encountered in a typical atom + diatom reaction. Product pair correlation is one of them. This article introduces the basic concept, outlines the experimental approach we developed and then highlights some of the applications to bimolecular reaction dynamics. Particular emphasis is placed on the information contents and unique insights gained from this type of measurements, which otherwise would have been lost by the conventional approach.

Abstract
A critical overview of the recent progress in crossed-beam reactive scattering is presented. This review is not intended to be an exhaustive nor a comprehensive one, but rather a critical assessment of what we have been learning about bimolecular reaction dynamics using crossed molecular beams since year 2000. Particular emphasis is placed on the information content encoded in the product angular distribution-the trait of a typical molecular beam scattering experiment-and how the information can help in answering fundamental questions about chemical reactivity. We will start with simple reactions by highlighting a few benchmark three-atom reactions, and then move on progressively to the more complex chemical systems and with more sophisticated types of measurements. Understanding what cause the experimental observations is more than computationally simulating the results. The give and take between experiment and theory in unraveling the physical picture of the underlying dynamics is illustrated throughout this review.

Abstract
The title reaction was investigated under crossed-beam conditions at three different collision energies, E(c) = 8.4, 2.76 and 1.46 kcal mol(-1). The combination of using a (2 + 1) resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization for tagging state-specific CD(3) products and exploiting a time-sliced velocity imaging for ion detection allows us to reveal the coincident information of the two product pairs in a state-correlated manner. The pair-correlated results are reported for the two product vibrators -- (v(2) = 0, v'), (v(2) = 1, v'), (v(2) = 2, v') and (v(2) = 3, v')-and the dynamics attributes we examined include product state distributions, energy disposals and angular distributions. Together with our earlier communications, a rather complete picture of the correlated dynamics of the title reaction emerges. One of the major findings, the anti-correlated excitations of the two product vibrators at all four energies of this study, can qualitatively be understood by kinematics arguments.
