Abstract
Feshbach resonances in D + HD(v = 1, j = 0) reaction are studied by using the time-independent quantum method. The integral cross section (ICS) results present three Feshbach resonance peaks, which are different from H + HD(v = 1, j = 0) reaction dominated by only one peak. These resonances are attributed to coupling with adiabatic effective potentials of D + HD(v = 1, j = 1) reaction, and the most obvious peak is contributed by J = 1 at 83.16 cm-1 collision energy. For J = 0 and 2, the resonances are related with the same L partial wave and present a double-peak structure in total ICS. The characteristics of product angular distribution show that the resonance of J = 1 is long-lived, while the lifetimes are relatively shorter for the resonance of J = 0 and 2.

Abstract
A full-dimensional quantum dynamical study for the bimolecular reactions of hydrogen molecules with amino radicals for different isotopologues is reported. The nonreactive amino radical is described by two Radau vectors that are very close to the valence bond coordinates. Potential-optimized discrete variable representation basis is used for the vibrational coordinates of the amino radical. Starting from the reaction H2 + NH2, we study the isotope effects for the two reagents separately, i.e., H2 + NH2/ND2/NHD and H2/D2/HD + NH2. The effects of different vibrational mode excitations of the reagents on the reactivities are studied. Physical explanations about the isotope effects are also provided thoroughly including the influence of vibrational energy differences between the different isotopologues and the impact of the tunneling effect.

Abstract
A full-dimensional time-dependent wave packet study using mixed polyspherical Jacobi and Radau coordinates for the title reaction has been reported. The non-reactive moiety CH3 has been described using three Radau vectors, whereas two Jacobi vectors have been used for the bond breaking/formation process. A potential-optimized discrete variable representation basis has been employed to describe the vibrational coordinates of the reagent CH4. About one hundred billion basis functions have been necessary to achieve converged results. The reaction probabilities for some initial vibrational states are given. A comparison between the present approach and other methods, including reduced and full-dimensional ones, is also presented.

Abstract
The concept of the transition state has played an important role in the field of chemical kinetics and reaction dynamics. Reactive resonances in the transition-state region can dramatically enhance the reaction probability; thus investigation of the reactive resonances has attracted great attention from chemical physicists for many decades. In this review, we mainly focus on the recent progress made in probing the elusive resonance phenomenon in the simple A + BC reaction and understanding its nature, especially in the benchmark F/Cl + H2 and their isotopic variants. The signatures of reactive resonances in the integral cross section, differential cross section (DCS), forward- and backward-scattered DCS, and anion photodetachment spectroscopy are comprehensively presented in individual prototype reactions. The dynamical origins of reactive resonances are also discussed in this review, based on information on the wave function in the transition-state region obtained by time-dependent quantum wave-packet calculations.

Abstract
In this review, we survey the latest advances in theoretical understanding of bimolecular reaction dynamics in the past decade. The remarkable recent progress in this field has been driven by more accurate and efficient ab initio electronic structure theory, effective potential-energy surface fitting techniques, and novel quantum scattering algorithms. Quantum mechanical characterization of bimolecular reactions continues to uncover interesting dynamical phenomena in atom-diatom reactions and beyond, reaching an unprecedented level of sophistication. In tandem with experimental explorations, these theoretical developments have greatly advanced our understanding of key issues in reaction dynamics, such as microscopic reaction mechanisms, mode specificity, product energy disposal, influence of reactive resonances, and nonadiabatic effects.

Abstract
We report integral cross sections for the S(1D2)+HD(j=0)→DS+H and HS+D reaction channels obtained through crossed-beam experiments reaching collision energies as low as 0.46 meV and from adiabatic time-independent quantum-mechanical calculations. While good overall agreement with experiment at energies above 10 meV is observed, neither the product channel branching ratio nor the low-energy resonancelike features in the HS+D channel can be theoretically reproduced. A nonadiabatic treatment employing highly accurate singlet and triplet potential energy surfaces is clearly needed to resolve the complex nature of the reaction dynamics.

Abstract
Reaction resonances are transiently trapped quantum states along the reaction coordinate in the transition state region of a chemical reaction that could have profound effects on the dynamics of the reaction. Obtaining an accurate reaction potential that holds these reaction resonance states and eventually modeling quantitatively the reaction resonance dynamics is still a great challenge. Up to now, the only viable way to obtain a resonance potential is through high-level ab initio calculations. Through highly accurate crossed-beam reactive scattering studies on isotope-substituted reactions, the accuracy of the resonance potential could be rigorously tested. Here we report a combined experimental and theoretical study on the resonance-mediated F + HD --> HF + D reaction at the full quantum state resolved level, to probe the resonance potential in this benchmark system. The experimental result shows that isotope substitution has a dramatic effect on the resonance picture of this important system. Theoretical analyses suggest that the full-dimensional FH(2) ground potential surface, which was believed to be accurate in describing the resonance picture of the F + H(2) reaction, is found to be insufficiently accurate in predicting quantitatively the resonance picture for the F + HD --> HF + D reaction. We constructed a global potential energy surface by using the CCSD(T) method that could predict the correct resonance peak positions as well as the dynamics for both F + H(2) --> HF + H and F + HD --> HF + D, providing an accurate resonance potential for this benchmark system with spectroscopic accuracy.

Abstract
[Reaction: see text]. The concept of transition state has played a crucial role in the field of chemical kinetics and reaction dynamics. Resonances in the transition state region are important in many chemical reactions at reaction energies near the thresholds. Detecting and characterizing isolated reaction resonances, however, have been a major challenge in both experiment and theory. In this Account, we review the most recent developments in the study of reaction resonances in the benchmark F + H 2 --> HF + H reaction. Crossed molecular beam scattering experiments on the F + H 2 reaction have been carried out recently using the high-resolution, highly sensitive H-atom Rydberg tagging technique with HF rovibrational states almost fully resolved. Pronounced forward scattering for the HF (nu' = 2) product has been observed at the collision energy of 0.52 kcal/mol in the F + H 2 (j = 0) reaction. Quantum dynamical calculations based on two new potential energy surfaces, the Xu-Xie-Zhang (XXZ) surface and the Fu-Xu-Zhang (FXZ) surface, show that the observed forward scattering of HF (nu' = 2) in the F + H 2 reaction is caused by two Feshbach resonances (the ground resonance and first excited resonance). More interestingly, the pronounced forward scattering of HF (nu' = 2) at 0.52 kcal/mol is enhanced considerably by the constructive interference between the two resonances. In order to probe the resonance potential more accurately, the isotope substituted F + HD --> HF + D reaction has been studied using the D-atom Rydberg tagging technique. A remarkable and fast changing dynamical picture has been mapped out in the collision energy range of 0.3-1.2 kcal/mol for this reaction. Quantum dynamical calculations based on the XXZ surface suggest that the ground resonance on this potential is too high in comparison with the experimental results of the F + HD reaction. However, quantum scattering calculations on the FXZ surface can reproduce nearly quantitatively the resonance picture of the F + HD reaction observed in the experiment. It is clear that the dynamics of the F + HD reaction below the threshold was dominated by the ground resonance state. Furthermore, the forward scattering HF (nu' = 3) channel from the F + H 2 ( j = 0) reaction was investigated and was attributed mainly to a slow-down mechanism over the centrifugal exit barrier, with small contributions from a shape resonance mechanism in a narrow collision energy range. A striking effect of the reagent rotational excitation on resonance was also observed in F + H 2 ( j = 1), in comparison with F + H 2 ( j = 0). From these concerted experimental and theoretical studies, a clear physical picture of the reaction resonances in this benchmark reaction has emerged, providing a textbook example of dynamical resonances in elementary chemical reactions.
