Abstract
Frequency-dependent dielectric relaxation in three deep eutectic solvents (DESs), (acetamide+LiClO4/NO3/Br), was investigated in the temperature range, 329 ≤ T/K ≤ 358, via molecular dynamics simulations. Subsequently, decomposition of the real and the imaginary components of the simulated dielectric spectra was carried out to separate the rotational (dipole-dipole), translational (ion-ion), and ro-translational (dipole-ion) contributions. The dipolar contribution, as expected, was found to dominate all the frequency-dependent dielectric spectra over the entire frequency regime, while the other two components together made tiny contributions only. The translational (ion-ion) and the cross ro-translational contributions appeared in the THz regime in contrast to the viscosity-dependent dipolar relaxations that dominated the MHz-GHz frequency window. Our simulations predicted, in agreement with experiments, anion-dependent decrement of the static dielectric constant (ɛs ∼ 20 to 30) for acetamide (ɛs ∼ 66) in these ionic DESs. Simulated dipole-correlations (Kirkwood g factor) indicated significant orientational frustrations. The frustrated orientational structure was found to be associated with the anion-dependent damage of the acetamide H-bond network. Single dipole reorientation time distributions suggested slowed down acetamide rotations but did not indicate presence of any "rotationally frozen" molecule. The dielectric decrement is, therefore, largely static in origin. This provides a new insight into the ion dependence of the dielectric behavior of these ionic DESs. A good agreement between the simulated and the experimental timescales was also noticed.

Abstract
Solvation dynamics in ionic liquids show features that are often associated with supercooled liquids, including "stretched" nonexponential relaxation. To better understand the mechanism behind the stretching, the nonlinear mode-correlation methods proposed in Paper I [S. R. Hodge and M. A. Berg, J. Chem. Phys. 155, 024122 (2021)] are applied to a simulation of a prototypical ionic liquid. A full Green's function is recovered. In addition, specific tests for non-Gaussian dynamics are made. No deviations from Gaussian dynamics are found. This finding is incompatible with rate heterogeneity as a cause of the nonexponential relaxation and appears to be in conflict with an earlier multidimensional analysis of the same data. Although this conflict is not resolved here, this work does demonstrate the practicality of mode-correlation analysis in the face of finite datasets and calculations.

Abstract
The first goal of this study is to identify the ideal piezoelectric material for the manufacturing of rheological reflectance ultrasonic sensors. The second goal is to integrate the ultrasonic rheometer within a gas absorption reactor and to measure viscosity changes in an ionic liquid (IL) caused by gas absorption. To achieve the objectives, bismuth titanate, lead titanate, lead metaniobate and lead zirconate titanate materials in layer, tungsten bronze and perovskite structures were assembled on aluminum delay lines and tested under thermal cycling between room temperature and 150 °C. The results showed that lead metaniobate in tungsten bronze structure is the most suitable material for long time duration thermal cycling. Therefore, the ultrasonic rheometer was assembled using this material and installed in a pressurized reactor to test a reference IL at the operating conditions of 50 °C and at a pressure of 80 bar. The reference IL was saturated with nitrogen as well as hydrogen gas. Viscosity signals remained constant under the hydrogen atmosphere, while in nitrogen atmosphere the absorption of the gas lead to a rise in the value of viscosity.

Abstract
The effects of 17 kinds of additive mixtures have been studied on refolding and aggregation of a model protein, lysozyme. Most of the prepared mixtures were efficient in inhibiting aggregation of the protein, and, surprisingly, four novel additive mixtures, i.e., lactic acid: l-arginine, lactic acid: l-glutamine, choline chloride: lactic acid, and imidazolium salt: β-cyclodextrin as well as choline chloride: urea exhibited a more remarkable efficacy in suppressing aggregation. Among these, lactic acid: l-arginine was identified as the most efficient additive, and lactic acid: l-glutamine and choline chloride: lactic acid were inefficient to recover the enzyme activity. In contrast, choline chloride: ethylene glycol: imidazole, choline chloride: glycerol: imidazole, imidazole: betaine: ethylene glycol were found to be less effective mixtures in preventing enzyme aggregation. Totally, it was demonstrated that the protective effects of the mixtures were improved as their concentrations increased. The improvement was more remarkable for imidazolium salt: β-cyclodextrin and choline chloride: urea, where the denatured lysozyme was reactivated and recovered up to 85% of its initial activity by enhancing their concentrations from 1 to 5% (V/V). It is suggested that such solution additives may be further employed as artificial chaperones to assist protein folding and stability.

Abstract
Mixtures of ionic liquids (ILs) have attracted our attention because of their extraordinary performances in extraction technologies and in absorbing large amount of CO2 gas. It has been observed that when two or more ILs are mixed in different proportions, a new solvent is obtained which is much better than that of each component of ILs from which the mixture is obtained. Within a mixture of ILs, several unidentified interactions occur among several ions which give rise to unique solvent properties to the mixture. Herein, in this review, we have highlighted the utilization of the advantageous properties of the IL mixtures in protein stability studies. This approach is exceptional and opens new directions to the use of ILs in biotechnology.

Abstract
Existence of microheterogeneity of imidazolium and piperidinium cation-based ionic liquids (ILs) containing PF6 and NTf2 anions has been investigated by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy. 2D NMR (especially NOESY and HOESY) has been employed for studying the interactions present between cation and anion as well as the intermolecular interaction among cations. HOESY spectrum shows that fluorine of anion ( PF6- and NTf2-) significantly interacts with proton of the cations. Combined results of HOESY and NOESY for imidazolium IL indicate that the PF6- and imidazolium cation are distributed in organized manner, resulting a heterogeneous environment in liquid state. We have also observed existence of heterogeneous environment for piperidinium cation-based ILs which is different from imidazolium ILs. It appears that existence of microheterogeneity in IL is ubiquitous and therefore open up the ILs field to revisit. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Abstract
The paper reports a detailed simulation study on collective reorientational relaxation, cooperative hydrogen bond (H-bond) fluctuations, and their connections to dielectric relaxation (DR) in deep eutectic solvents made of acetamide and three uni-univalent electrolytes, lithium nitrate (LiNO3), lithium bromide (LiBr), and lithium perchlorate (LiClO4). Because cooperative H-bond fluctuations and ion migration complicate the straightforward interpretation of measured DR timescales in terms of molecular dipolar rotations for these conducting media which support extensive intra- and inter-species H-bonding, one needs to separate out the individual components from the overall relaxation for examining the microscopic origin of various timescales. The present study does so and finds that reorientation of ion-complexed acetamide molecules generates relaxation timescales that are in sub-nanosecond to nanosecond range. This explains in molecular terms the nanosecond timescales reported by recent giga-Hertz DR measurements. Interestingly, the simulated survival timescale for the acetamide-Li(+) complex has been found to be a few tens of nanosecond, suggesting such a cation-complexed species may be responsible for a similar timescale reported by mega-Hertz DR measurements of acetamide/potassium thiocyanate deep eutectics near room temperature. The issue of collective versus single particle relaxation is discussed, and jump waiting time distributions are determined. Dependence on anion-identity in each of the cases has been examined. In short, the present study demonstrates that assumption of nano-sized domain formation is not required for explaining the DR detected nanosecond and longer timescales in these media.
