Abstract
Pyridines undergo a facile SNHAr phosphinylation with H-phosphinates under catalyst- and solvent-free conditions (50-55 °C) in the presence of benzoylphenylacetylene to afford 4-phosphinylpyridines in up to 68% yield. In this reaction, benzoylphenylacetylene activates the pyridine ring by the formation of a 1,3(4)-dipolar complex, deprotonates H-phosphinates to generate P-centered anions and finally acts as an oxidizer, being eliminated from an intermediate ion pair. Terminal electron-deficient acetylenes (methyl propiolate and benzoylacetylene) are inefficient as mediators in the above SNHAr process.

Abstract
Triphenylphosphine oxide is a well-known industrial waste byproduct, and thousands of tons of it are generated every year. Due to its chemical stability and limited applications, settlement of this waste issue has drawn extensive attention from chemists. The reduction of triphenylphosphine oxide to triphenylphosphine is heretofore the most employed solution, and is well reviewed. In view of our recent studies on the selective and efficient conversion of Ph3P(O) to other valuable organophosphorus chemicals by using sodium, the present perspective mainly highlights the advances on the utilization of Ph3P(O) to prepare a diverse range of functional organophosphorus compounds, except Ph3P, via selective P-C, C-H, and P-O bond cleavages.

Abstract
The review presents extensive data (from the works of the author and literature) on the structure of C- and N-chlorophosphorylated enamines and the related heterocycles obtained by multipulse multinuclear 1H, 13C, and 31P NMR spectroscopy. The use of phosphorus pentachloride as a phosphorylating agent for functional enamines enables the synthesis of various C- and N-phosphorylated products that are heterocyclized to form various promising nitrogen- and phosphorus-containing heterocyclic systems. 31P NMR spectroscopy is the most convenient, reliable and unambiguous method for the study and identification of organophosphorus compounds with different coordination numbers of the phosphorus atom, as well as for the determination of their Z- and E-isomeric forms. An alteration of the coordination number of the phosphorus atom in the phosphorylated compounds from 3 to 6 leads to a drastic screening of the 31P nucleus from about +200 to -300 ppm. The unique structural features of nitrogen-phosphorus-containing heterocyclic compounds are discussed.

Abstract
In order to obtain sulfur-containing organophosphorus compounds that are promising as extractants of heavy metals, the interaction of elemental phosphorus and sulfur with alkyl bromides catalyzed using strong bases was studied. According to the task, the reaction of non-toxic and non-flammable red phosphorus with alkyl bromides under conditions of phase transfer catalysts (PTC), followed by the introduction of elemental sulfur into the reaction medium, were studied. It is shown that alkyl bromides interact with red phosphorus when heated (95-105 °C, 5-8 h) under conditions of phase transfer catalysts (PTC) in a two-phase system: a 60% aqueous solution of KOH-toluene-benzyltriethylammonium chloride (BTEAC) forming a mixture of organophosphorus compounds along with alkylphosphines (57-60%), are the main reaction products; alkylphosphine oxides are also formed (40-43%). The introduction of elemental sulfur (solution in toluene) at the final stage of the process into the reaction mass cooled to 40-60 °C leads to the expected alkylphosphine sulfides, which are the result of the interaction of alkylphosphines with sulfur. The formation of complex mixtures of products prevents the release of target alkylphosphine sulfides in individual form. However, the synthesized mixture of alkylphosphine sulfides and alkylphosphine oxides without separation into individual components is promising for studying its extraction properties in relation to heavy metals. Testing of the extraction properties of synthesized mixtures of alkylphosphine sulfides and alkylphosphine oxides in relation to heavy metals (Ni, Co, Zn, Pb) and noble metals (Ag) showed that the resulting mixtures of tertiary phosphine oxides and phosphine sulfides are highly effective extractants. The degree of extraction in relation to Ni, Co, Zn, and Pb varies from 99.90 to 99.99%, and for Ag from 99.56 to 99.59%.

Abstract
The review presents extensive data (from the author's work and the literature) on the stereochemical structure of functionalized organophosphorus azoles (pyrroles, pyrazoles, imidazoles and benzazoles) and related compounds, using multinuclear 1H, 13C, 31P NMR spectroscopy and quantum chemistry. 31P NMR spectroscopy, combined with high-level quantum-chemical calculations, is the most convenient and reliable approach to studying tetra-, penta-, and hexacoordinated phosphorus atoms of phosphorylated N-vinylazoles and evaluating their Z/E isomerization.

Abstract
Publications covering a new easy metal-free functionalization of pyridinoids (pyridines, quinolines, isoquinolines, acridine) under the action of the system of electron-deficient acetylenes (acetylenecarboxylic acid esters, acylacetylenes)/P-nucleophiles (phosphine chalcogenides, H-phosphonates) are reviewed. Special attention is focused on a SNH reaction of the regioselective cross-coupling of pyridines with secondary phosphine chalcogenides triggered by acylacetylenes to give 4-chalcogenophosphorylpyridines. In these processes, acetylenes act as three-modal adjuvants (i) activating the pyridine ring towards P-nucleophiles, (ii) deprotonating the P-H bond and (iii) facilitating the nucleophilic addition of the P-centered anion to a heterocyclic moiety followed by the release of the selectively reduced acetylenes (E-alkenes).

Abstract
The synthesis of phosphines is based on white phosphorus, which is usually converted to PCl3, to be afterwards substituted step by step in a non-atomic efficient manner. Herein, we describe an alternative efficient transition metal-mediated process to form asymmetrically substituted phosphines directly from white phosphorus (P4). Thereby, P4 is converted to [Cp*Fe(η5-P5)] (1) (Cp* = η5-C5(CH3)5) in which one of the phosphorus atoms is selectively functionalized to the 1,1-diorgano-substituted complex [Cp*Fe(η4-P5R'R″)] (3). In a subsequent step, the phosphine PR'R″R‴ (R' ≠ R″ ≠ R‴ = alky, aryl) (4) is released by reacting it with a nucleophile R‴M (M = alkali metal) as racemates. The starting material 1 can be regenerated with P4 and can be reused in multiple reaction cycles without isolation of the intermediates, and only the phosphine is distilled off.

Abstract
Long-chain n-alkyl-H-phosphinic acids (Alk = C4-C18) are chemoselectively synthesized in yields up to 90% via the direct one-pot alkylation/oxidation of red phosphorus (Pn) in the multi-phase alkyl bromide/KOH/H2O/toluene system with alkyl-PEG recyclable micellar catalysts, which demonstrate good recyclability.

Abstract
Secondary phosphine chalcogenides react with primary amino alcohols under mild conditions (room temperature, molar ratio of the initial reagents 1 : 1) in a CCl4/Et3N oxidizing system to chemoselectively deliver amides of chalcogenophosphinic acids with free OH groups. Under similar conditions, mono-cross-coupling between secondary phosphine chalcogenides and 1,2- or 1,3-aminophenols proceeds only with the participation of phenolic hydroxyl to give aminophenylchalcogenophosphinic O-esters. The yields of the synthesized functional amides or esters are 60-85%.

Terminal acylacetylenes act as trimodal auxiliaries in SHN cross-coupling of pyridines with phosphine chalcogenides. The reaction proceeds via phosphorylation of the pyridine 2 position followed by 2 → 4-migration of phosphoryl moieties.

Abstract
The review addresses the possibility of obtaining Markovnikov and anti-Markovnikov isomers in the reactions of unsaturated hydrocarbons with organophosphorus and organosulfur compounds having P–H and S–H bonds using metal salts or complexes as catalysts.
