Abstract
The synthesis of indoles and their derivatives, more specifically bis(indolyl)methanes (BIMs), has been an area of great interest in organic chemistry, since these compounds exhibit a range of interesting biological and pharmacological properties. BIMs are naturally found in cruciferous vegetables and have been shown to be effective antifungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and even anticancer agents. Traditionally, the synthesis of BIMs has been achieved upon the acidic condensation of an aldehyde with indole, utilizing a variety of protic or Lewis acids. However, due to the increased environmental awareness of our society, the focus has shifted towards the development of greener synthetic technologies, like photocatalysis, organocatalysis, the use of nanocatalysts, microwave irradiation, ball milling, continuous flow, and many more. Thus, in this review, we summarize the medicinal properties of BIMs and the developed BIM synthetic protocols, utilizing the reaction between aldehydes with indoles, while focusing on the more environmentally friendly methods developed over the years.

Abstract
In the current paper, we produce a new metal-organic framework (MOF) based on Zr metal, [Zr-UiO-66-PDC-SO3H]FeCl4, via an anion exchange method, which is fully characterized by FT-IR, SEM with elemental mapping and EDX, FE-SEM and TEM. Furthermore, the use of [Zr-UiO-66-PDC-SO3H]FeCl4 as a porous catalyst was examined for the one-pot synthesis of novel dihydrobenzo[g]pyrimido[4,5-b]quinoline derivatives by reaction of 6-amino-1,3-dimethylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione, 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1,4-dione and various aldehydes at 100 °C with good to excellent yields.

Abstract
AIMS AND OBJECTIVE An efficient and practical procedure for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds such as quinazolines, quinoxalines and bis(indolyl)methanes was developed using 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl) phenyl ammonium hexafluorophosphate (BFPHP) as a novel organocatalyst. MATERIALS AND METHODS All of the obtained products are known compounds and identified by IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR and melting points. RESULT Various products were obtained in good to excellent yields under reaction conditions. CONCLUSION The BFPHP organocatalyst demonstrates a novel class of non-asymmetric organocatalysts, which has gained much attention in green chemistry.

Abstract
Herein, two novel mesoporous cross-linked poly(vinyl imidazole)s with sulfonic acid tags, [PVI-SO3H]Cl (1) and [PVI-SO3H]FeCl4 (2), were prepared and characterized by a variety of techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, elemental mapping, energy dispersive X-ray analysis, transmission electron microscopy, thermal gravimetry, derivative thermal gravimetry, and N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms (Brunauer-Emmett-Teller). In addition, magnetic properties of poly(vinyl imidazole) sulfonic acid iron(IV) chloride [PVI-SO3H]FeCl4 (2) as an ionically tagged magnetic polymer were investigated using a vibrating sample magnetometer. The presented polymers, [PVI-SO3H]Cl (1) and [PVI-SO3H]FeCl4 (2), were successfully applied as reusable and efficient catalysts for the preparation of N-heterocycle spiropyrans. The described catalysts were recycled and reused with a marginal decrease in their catalytic activities. The desired products were prepared under mild and green conditions. The structures of the obtained products were confirmed by various analysis techniques.

Abstract
Pyrazines are renowned heterocyclic compounds that have played an important role in drug design and are part of many polycyclic compounds of biological and industrial significance. In this article, a novel chitosan-immobilized ionic liquid, [DSIM][AlCl3] x -@CS, has been synthesized easily at ambient temperature and used for catalyzing the synthesis of a series of biologically relevant pyrazine derivatives. The catalyst is well characterized by various techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, solid-state 13C MAS nuclear magnetic resonance, scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive X-ray, elemental mapping, transmission electron microscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and thermal gravimetric analyses. The advantageous features of the present energy-sustainable methodology include high yield of product (>99%), shorter reaction time periods, and recyclability of the catalyst.

Abstract
Abstract
The highly effectual synthesis of 4,6-diarylpyrimidin-2(1H)-ones via the one-pot multicomponent reaction of acetophenones with arylaldehydes and urea in the presence of trimethylsilyl chloride and a catalytic amount of the ionic liquid N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediaminium-N,N′-disulfonic acid hydrogen sulfate ([TMEDSA][HSO4]2) under solvent-free conditions has been described. The reaction results and conditions of the catalytic system have been compared with previously reported catalysts. [TMEDSA][HSO4]2 afforded better results in comparison with the reported catalysts in terms of one or more of these factors: yield, temperature, the reaction media, time, and generality. Moreover, a plausible reaction mechanism based on dual functionality of the catalyst has been proposed.

Abstract
In this work, acetic acid functionalized pyridinium salt, namely 1-(carboxymethyl)pyridinium iodide {[cmpy]I}, has been applied as reusable nanostructured catalyst for green, simple and efficient preparation of spiropyrans by the one-pot domino Knoevenagel–Michael–cyclization reaction of isatin derivatives or acenaphthenquinone, with malononitrile, and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds under aqueous media. Moreover, 1H and 13C NMR, mass, CHN analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential thermal gravimetric (DTG), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), and calculation of crystallite size and interplaner distance of the catalyst have been studied.

Abstract
A novel nanostructured heterogeneous catalyst, namely silica-bonded 1,4-diaza-bicyclo[2.2.2]octane-sulfonic acid chloride (SBDBSAC), has been synthesized and fully characterized by several techniques, including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential thermal gravimetric (DTG), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX). Afterward, the nanostructured catalyst was utilized as an efficient catalyst for the synthesis of bis-coumarin derivatives by the condensation reaction of arylaldehydes with 4-hydroxycoumarin at 70 °C under solvent-free conditions.
