Abstract
Replacing harmful organic solvents that caused environmental pollution with an alternative medium for the development of ideal synthetic strategies is one of the primary focal points of green chemistry. Utilizing polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a nonvolatile solvent and promotor for the evaluation of safe processes has made a considerable contribution to the reduction of pollution problems. The current review summarizes the recent well-known catalyst-free organic reaction performed in polyethylene glycol as a green and biocompatible reaction medium.

Taghva PH, Kabirifard H. Three-Component Efficient Synthesis of 2-Amino-3-cyano-4H-pyrans Catalyzed by Diammonium hydrogen phosphate in Aqueous Media. CURRENT ORGANOCATALYSIS 2020. [DOI: 10.2174/2213337207999200726235542] [Citation(s) in RCA: 2] [Impact Index Per Article: 0.5] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 11/22/2022]
Abstract
Background:
The present method is facile, green and effective for the synthesis of 2-amino-3-cyano-4H-pyran
derivatives which are obtained by one-pot three-component condensation reactions of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile
and methyl acetoacetate using diammonium hydrogen phosphate (DAHP) in aqueous ethanol at room temperature.
Methods:
2-Amino-3-cyano-4H-pyrans were synthesized through a one-pot three-component tandem Knoevenagel cyclocondensation reaction of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, and methyl acetoacetate in the presence of 10 mol% of
DAHP as a catalyst under aqueous ethanol medium at room temperature. All obtained structures were confirmed by their
physical constant, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectroscopy, also elemental analyses for new derivatives.
Results:
Three-component synthesis of 2-amino-3-cyano-4H-pyrans catalyzed by DAHP with aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile and methyl acetoacetate in aqueous ethanol medium at room temperature was prepared. The achieved derivatives
(nine entries) were well synthesized in excellent yields.
Conclusion:
The present method is straightforward, quick, and most efficient green protocol for the synthesis of 2-amino3-cyano-4H-pyran derivatives using highly inexpensive, easily handle and, nontoxic DAHP as an efficient catalyst in
aqueous ethanol medium at room temperature.

Abstract
The first Trypsin from porcine pancreas catalyzed a novel one-pot three-component reaction of α-bromoketone, primary alkylamines, and phenylisothiocyanate for the synthesis of thiazole-imine derivatives with high yields (up to 98%) in a short time under mild conditions. The results revealed that Trypsin exhibited excellent catalytic activity and great tolerance for broad substrates. This Trypsin-catalyzed three component convergent method provides a novel strategy for the synthesis of thiazole-2-imine derivatives and expands the promiscuous functions of enzymes in organic synthesis.
