Abstract
Efficient conversion of epoxides into episulfides with thiourea in the presence of ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) as catalyst and under mild and non-aqueous conditions is reported; this conversion was performed under both conventional heating and microwave conditions and distinct rate enhancement was observed under microwave irradiation.

Abstract
An unprecedented cyclization reaction of donor-acceptor oxiranes with N,N'-disubstituted thioureas to construct trans-dihydropyrimidines is presented. Preliminary reaction mechanism studies demonstrated that the reaction underwent sequential cycloaddition/amine ester exchange/oxygen-sulfur exchange/desulfuration/Michael addition process. A wide range of trans-dihydropyrimidines were produced with high yields up to 94% by using this method.

Abstract
A highly efficient and enantioselective Brønsted acid catalyzed conversion of epoxides to thiiranes has been developed. The reaction proceeds in a kinetic resolution, furnishing both epoxide and thiirane in high yields and enantiomeric purity. Heterodimer formation between the catalyst and sulfur donor affords an effective way to prevent catalyst decomposition and enables catalyst loadings as low as 0.01 mol %.

Abstract
Various epoxides are converted to their corresponding thiiranes in excellent yields with ammonium thiocyanate and thiourea under non-aqueous conditions in the presence of catalytic amounts of Bi(TFA)3 and Bi(OTf)3.
