Abstract
The preparation, modification and application of green polymers such as poly-lactic acid (PLA), chitosan (CS), and cellulose acetate (CA) for oily wastewater treatment is summed up in this review. Due to the low environmental pollution, good chemical resistivity, high hydrophobicity, and good capacity for water-oil emulsion separation of the presented polymers, it then highlights the various membrane production methods and their role in producing effective membranes, with a focus on recent advances in improving membrane properties through the addition of various Nano materials. As a result, the hydrophilic/hydrophobic properties that are critical in the oil separation mechanism are highlighted. Finally, it looks at the predictions and challenges in oil/water separation and recovery. These ideas are discussed with a focus on modern production methods and oil separation proficiency.

Abstract
Combining electrospinning technology with nonsolvent induced phase separation (ESP-NIPS), 10 wt% poly(lactic acid) (PLA) spinning solutions are prepared by using chloroform as a good solvent and absolute ethanol as a nonsolvent. The “PLA/CHCl3/C2H5OH” ternary system is constituted to realize the rapid preparation of porous-structured PLA fibers. The morphologies, thermal properties and crystalline structures of the obtained fibers are characterized and the rapid forming mechanism of PLA porous fibers is investigated and discussed. The interaction parameters between the substances of the “PLA/CHCl3/C2H5OH” ternary system, binodal line, spinodal line and critical point are obtained by theoretical calculation and experiment, and the “PLA/CHCl3/C2H5OH” ternary phase diagram model is established. The results show that, when the mass ratio of chloroform/ethanol is around 75/25, the rapid “in situ” formation of the PLA fibers can be realized with porous structures within 5–10 s. The establishment of a “nonsolvent-solvent–polymer” ternary phase diagram model has laid a theoretical foundation for the rapid formation of polymer porous fibers by ESP-NIPS. The ESP-NIPS for the porous PLA fibers preparation provides a new resolution for the rapid formation of porous polymer materials, which is vital to further expand the application of electrospun fibers in emergency situations such as isolation, protection, insulation and flame retardant usage. Combining electrospinning technology with ESP-NIPS, using chloroform as a solvent and absolute ethanol as a nonsolvent, poly(lactic acid) porous fibres are prepared within 5–10 s. This preparation provides a new resolution for the rapid formation of porous polymer materials.![]()

Abstract
With increasing air pollution and sporadic outbreaks of epidemics, there is ramping attention on the filtration devices. The main constituents of airborne pollutants are particulate matters of solid particles, liquid aerosol, bioaerosol/bio-droplets, and gas/vapor. With the growing demand for high-performance filters, novel materials and functionalities are being developed applying advanced technologies. In this paper, recent developments of fiber-based particulate filters are reviewed, with a focus on the important performance parameters and material properties. Trends in technology and research activities are briefly reviewed, and the evaluative measures of filtration performance are reported. Recent studies on the advanced filter materials are reviewed in the aspect of polymers and the fabrication process of fibrous assembly. The characterization method including 3D modeling and simulation is also briefly introduced. Multifunctional filters such as antimicrobial filter and gas and particulate filters are briefly introduced, and efforts for developing environmentally sustainable filters are noted.
