Abstract
Depression is a mood disorder characterized by abnormal thoughts. The pathophysiology of depression is related to the deficiency of serotonin (5HT), which is derived from tryptophan (Trp). Mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and neuroinflammation are involved in the pathogenesis of depression. Notably, the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) is involved in the pathogenesis of depression, and different findings revealed that angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) may be effective in depression. However, the underlying mechanism for the role of dysregulated brain RAS-induced depression remains speculative. Therefore, this review aimed to revise the conceivable role of ACEIs and ARBs and how these agents ameliorate the pathophysiology of depression. Dysregulation of brain RAS triggers the development and progression of depression through the reduction of brain 5HT and expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and the induction of mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and neuroinflammation. Therefore, inhibition of central classical RAS by ARBS and ACEIs and activation of non-classical RAS prevent the development of depression by regulating 5HT, BDNF, mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and neuroinflammation.

Abstract
Background Obesity and psychological factors were identified as risk factors for female infertility. The study investigated the correlation between WWI, depression, and secondary infertility, focusing on the potential mediating role of depression. Methods According to the data from NHANES, this cross-sectional study used multiple regression analysis, subgroup analysis, and smooth curve fitting to explore the relationship between WWI, depression, and secondary infertility. The diagnostic ability of WWI was evaluated and compared to other obesity indicators using the ROC curve. The mediating effect test adopted the distribution of the product. Results This study involved 2778 participants, including 381 (13.7%) women with secondary infertility. Results showed that higher WWI (OR = 1.31; 95% CI, 1.11-1.56) and depression scores (OR = 1.03; 95% CI, 1.01-1.06) were associated with secondary infertility. There was a positive correlation between WWI and secondary infertility (nonlinear p = 0.8272) and this association was still consistent in subgroups (all P for interaction> 0.05). Compared with other obesity indicators, WWI (AUC = 0.588) also shows good predictive performance for secondary infertility. Mediation analysis showed that depression mediated the relationship between 3.94% of WWI and secondary infertility, with a confidence interval of Za * Zb excluding 0. Conclusion WWI exhibited a relatively good correlation in predicting secondary infertility than other obesity indicators, and depression may be a mediator between WWI and secondary infertility. Focusing on the potential mediating role of depression, the risk of secondary infertility due to obesity may be beneficially reduced in women.

Abstract
The stigma of infertility in Pakistan has been conceded as a stressful clinical condition, significantly affecting women's over all wellbeing and spousal relationships. The present study aimed to investigate the connection between relationship beliefs, attachment styles and depression among infertile women. Ex post facto research design was employed. A total sample of 80 infertile women (40 primary and 40 secondary infertility) with age range of 25-45 years participated in the study through purposive sampling from two infertility centers of Lahore city. Data was collected using demographic information form, relationship belief inventory (RBI), attachment style questionnaire (ASQ) and depression scale of symptom checklist-revised (SCL-R). Result indicates that beliefs of disagreement is destructive (DID), mindreading is expected (MIE) and anxious attachment style were positively correlated with depression. Mindreading is expected' and anxious attachment' style emerged as the predictors of depression. However, no significant differences were found between both groups of primary and secondary infertile women. Considering, the dysfunctional relationship beliefs and negative attachment style with spouse as significant correlate and predictor of depression in infertile women. It is suggested to devise intervention focused on alleviating psychological issues related to infertility.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Infertility can affect a couple's mental health and marital and social relationships. The study aimed to investigate the prevalence of depression among infertile couples and their relationships with other factors. METHODS This study employed a cross-sectional survey. Validated tools were used to assess anxiety and depression, marital satisfaction, personality traits and sufficiency economy. The actor-partner interdependence model (APIM) was used for dyadic analysis. RESULTS The prevalence of depression in infertile couples was 6.7%. Aggression, extraversion and neuroticism were significantly correlated with depression, whereas the expectation of having children, marital satisfaction and sufficiency economy were negatively correlated with depression. The APIM model suggested that neuroticism and marital satisfaction were significant predictors of depression. Partner effect between the expectation of having children and depression was observed (p = 0.039). CONCLUSIONS Like other populations, depression in infertile couples seems to be associated with aggression, extraversion and neuroticism. However, there are specific variables related to infertility that impact the depression levels of these couples. For instance, the expectation of having children can affect the partners of infertile couples, while the role of the sufficiency economy is a new factor that has been examined for depression in this sample and requires further exploration.

Abstract
Background Methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) is a common treatment for heroin use disorder (HUD). Although individuals with HUD have been reported to show impaired coupling among the salience network (SN), executive control network (ECN), and default mode network (DMN), the effects of MMT on the coupling among three large-scale networks in individuals with HUD remains unclear. Methods Thirty-seven individuals with HUD undergoing MMT and 57 healthy controls were recruited. The longitudinal one-year follow-up study aimed to evaluate the effects of methadone on anxiety, depression, withdrawal symptoms and craving and number of relapse, and brain function (SN, DMN and bilateral ECN) in relation to heroin dependence. The changes in psychological characteristics and the coupling among large-scale networks after 1 year of MMT were analyzed. The associations between the changes in coupling among large-scale networks and psychological characteristics and the methadone dose were also examined. Results After 1 year of MMT, individuals with HUD showed a reduction in the withdrawal symptom score. The number of relapses was negatively correlated with the methadone dose over 1 year. The functional connectivity between the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and the left middle temporal gyrus (MTG; both key nodes of the DMN) was increased, and the connectivities between the mPFC and the anterior insular and middle frontal gyrus (key nodes of the SN) were also increased. The mPFC-left MTG connectivity was negatively correlated with the withdrawal symptom score. Conclusion Long-term MMT enhanced the connectivity within the DMN which might be related to reduced withdrawal symptoms, and that between the DMN and SN which might be related to increase in salience values of heroin cues in individuals with HUD. Long-term MMT may be a double-edged sword in treatment for HUD.

Abstract
Male factor infertility affects about 50% of infertile couples. However, male factor infertility is largely under-evaluated due to multiple reasons. This study is to determine the time men travel for fertility evaluation, and factors associated with driving longer. Data from the Andrology Research Consortium were analysed. Driving distance and time were calculated by comparing "patient postal code" with "clinic postal code", then stratified into quartiles. Patients with the longest driving times (> 75th percentile [Q4]) were compared with those having shorter driving times. Logistic regression analysis was used to identify factors associated with longer driving times. Sixteen clinics and 3029 men were included. The median driving distance was 18.1 miles, median driving time was 32 min, and Q4 driving time was 49 min. Factors correlated with having Q4 driving time were age > 30 years, native Indian and Caucasian race, body mass index (BMI) > 30 kg/m2 , history of miscarriage, children with previous partner, self-referral, prior vasectomy, and prior marijuana use. On logistic regression, males aged < 30 years were more likely to be in Q4 for driving time versus older males. Blacks and Asians were less likely to travel further than Caucasians. Overweight/obese men, those having children with previous partner, and with prior vasectomy were more likely to be in Q4 travelling time. Factors correlated with longer driving times include younger age, native Indian and Caucasian race, higher BMI, children with prior partner, and prior vasectomy. These may reflect groups that drive long distances for reproductive care. The study provides an opportunity to better access these groups and minimise their barriers to fertility care.

Abstract
(1) Background: Infertility refers to the failure to achieve a pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse. Infertility is an important medical and social problem that causes individual distress, family conflict and emotional impact experienced by about 15% of couples worldwide. Anxiety and depression are the main psychological problems associated with infertility with many potential contributing factors which are yet to be fully elucidated. This study aims to investigate factors related to anxiety and depression among infertile couples. (2) Methods/Design: This study will employ an analytical cross-sectional survey. Sociodemographic information will be collected. Validated tools will be used to assess anxiety and depression (Outcome Inventory-21(OI-21), marital satisfaction (ENRICH Marital Satisfaction Scale, sufficiency economy (Sufficiency Economy Scale (SES) and personality traits (Zuckerman-Kuhlman-Aluja Personality Questionnaire (ZKA-PQ). The Actor-Partner Interdependence Model estimated by multilevel modeling will be used for dyadic analysis. (3) Discussion: This study will provide evidence about factors associated with anxiety and depression in infertile couples. Outcomes will raise awareness about mental health problems among infertile couples and guide future research for interventions.
