Abstract
This single group pre and posttest study evaluated the feasibility of a new 10-week group-based motor skills enhancement intervention: "Moving Together," and associated use of the Challenge assessment and Gait Outcomes Assessment List (GOAL). Participant attendance/completion and satisfaction with the assessments and intervention were evaluated, and a first estimate of associated motor skill-related changes obtained. Ten ambulatory children with cerebral palsy (7-14 years) and their parents participated. Ninety percent of Challenge sessions were attended and 82.5% of GOAL questionnaires completed. Program attendance was 83% overall. Satisfaction with assessments was high for the Challenge and moderate for the GOAL, and intervention satisfaction was high. Mean change scores (95% CI) post-intervention for the Challenge and GOAL were 4.2 (-11.4 to 3.1) and 3.6 (-14.4 to 4.0) points (/100) respectively. Challenge and GOAL use was feasible and appropriate for "MovingTogether" and associated with gains in motor skill performance and functional abilities.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Sports participation for people with disabilities exists at the intersection of health, sport, and education sectors. However, no common framework and language exist to describe the stages of sports participation. OBJECTIVE To present the background to the SPORTS Participation Framework, and how it can be used to illuminate the path that people with disability may travel to enter into, participate in, and enjoy and excel at all levels of sport. METHOD The SPORTS Participation Framework includes six stages drawn from mainstream sports pathways and models used to classify barriers to sports participation for people with disabilities: (S) Screening, goal setting and individual preparation, (P) Practitioner led, peer-group sports interventions, (O) Organised junior entry-point sports programs, (R) Recreational sport (non-competitive), (T) Team competition (school/club representation), and (S) State, National, and International competition. RESULTS For each stage, this paper describes the content of sports activities, the context in which they are performed, key stakeholders, barriers to participation, available evidence, and case studies. CONCLUSIONS The SPORTS Participation Framework presents a structure to navigate the stages of introducing and promoting lifelong sports participation for people with disabilities. It scaffolds clear communication, governance, and policy across health, sport, and education sectors, and supports clinicians and researchers to address barriers to participation at each stage to improve individual and population-wide participation in sport for people with disabilities.

Abstract
This document analyzes a survey conducted in three geographical areas in Spain, focusing on centers for individuals with cerebral palsy (CP). The study aims to determine the adherence rate to recommended physical activity guidelines, assess if there is a decline in interest in physical activity over time, identify the stage at which this decline occurs, and explore potential mechanisms, tools, or strategies to sustain long-term engagement in regular physical activity for this population. The 36-item questionnaire comprises multiple-choice, open-ended, and Likert scale-type questions. Data were collected on physical activity frequency and duration, daily living activities, and demographics. Statistical analysis identified patterns and relationships between variables. Findings reveal that only a 17.6% meets the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations regarding regular physical activity (RPA), decreasing in frequency or number of days a week, (3.7 d/w to 2.9 d/w; p < 0.01) and duration (50.5 min/d to 45.2 min/d; p < 0.001) with age, especially for those with higher Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) mobility levels. Obesity slightly correlates with session duration (ρ = -0.207; p < 0.05), not mobility limitations. Gender has no significant impact on mobility, communication, or physical activity, while age affects variables such as body mass index (BMI) and engagement (p < 0.01). A substantial proportion follows regular physical activities based on health professionals' advice, with interest decreasing with age. To improve adherence, focusing on sports-oriented goals, group sessions, and games is recommended. These findings emphasize the importance of personalized programs, particularly for older individuals and those with greater mobility limitations.

Abstract
PURPOSE To identify and assess the clinimetric properties of psychological, cognitive, and social competence assessment tools relevant to physical activity for school-aged children (5-17 years) with neurodevelopmental disabilities. METHODS Seven electronic databases were searched. Study findings and methodologies were evaluated using the COnsensus-based Standards for the selection of health Measurement Instruments (COSMIN) checklist. Psychometric strength of assessment tools was determined using Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation principles (GRADE) (Trial registration: CRD42020180616). RESULTS Study criteria were met by eight subscales from the BRIEF2, DMQ17, QI-Disability, SAID, and SDQ. Most subscales examined psychological competence (n = 5), with fewer addressing social competence (n = 2), or cognitive competence (n = 1). Validity was moderate to high strength for most subscales. Reliability was of moderate and unclear strength for two subscales. A five-level decision tree was devised to summarise: (1) physical literacy domains/elements, (2) populations, (3) assessment focus, (4) required resources, and (5) psychometric evidence. CONCLUSIONS Subscales are available to assess psychological, cognitive, or social competence. For school-aged children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, these have moderate to high strength psychometric support. A decision tree will assist practitioners in subscale selection. Future studies are needed to establish gold standard assessment of physical literacy for this population.IMPLICATIONS FOR REHABILITATIONPsychological Activity Competence can be measured for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, subscales from The Behaviour Rating Inventory of Executive Function, Second Edition (BRIEF2; The Dimensions of Mastery Questionnaire 17.0 (DMQ17); and The Quality of Life Inventory-Disability (QI-Disability).Cognitive Activity Competence can be measured using a subscale from The Scale of Attention in Intellectual Disability (SAID).Social Activity Competence can be measured using subscales from the BRIEF2, and The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ).Clinicians can use the Physical Literacy decision tree to guide selection of these tools.

Abstract
Background/Objective The aim of this study was to examine the effects of school-based intervention integrating physical literacy (PL) into active school recesses (ASR) on physical fitness (i.e., body composition, 20-m shuttle run, 50-m run, rope skipping, sit and reach, handgrip) and academic achievement (i.e., academic result of Chinese and Mathematics) in Chinese children. Methods A total of 357 children (mean age: 7.8 ± 0.7 years; boys: 50.4%) were recruited from two schools and these two schools were randomly assigned as the intervention group (IG) and the control group (CG), respectively. The IG consisted of 155 children (mean age: 7.9 ± 0.7 years, boys: 51.0%), and 202 children (mean age: 7.8 ± 0.7 years; boys: 50%) were allocated to the CG. Children in the IG received a 10-week intervention integrating PL that was conducted during ASR. In the CG, children's regular school activity was remained during the intervention period. Generalized estimating equation was performed to compare the levels of physical fitness and academic achievement between the IG and the CG after intervention. Results Regarding physical fitness, there was a significant group × time interaction on 20-m shuttle run (β = -3.89, 95% CI [-5.08; -2.71], p < 0.001) and handgrip (β = -0.70, 95% CI [-1.20; -0.20], p = 0.006). After intervention, children in the IG had a greater increase than the CG (p < 0.001) in terms of 20-m shuttle run and handgrip. In addition, the post-test analysis indicated that performance of children in the IG was significantly greater than those in the CG (20-m shuttle run: p < 0.001, handgrip: p = 0.002). There was a significant group × time interaction on academic result of Chinese (β = -1.21, 95% CI [-1.91; -0.56], p = 0.001) and academic result of Mathematics (β = 16.71, 95% CI [15.14; 18.143], p < 0.001). Statistically significant positive difference in post-test was observed in academic result of Mathematics between the IG and the CG (p = 0.012). Conclusion The results of this intervention study indicate that intervention integrating PL into ASR could bring a promising effect on physical fitness and academic achievement in children. It is recommended that future studies are necessary to assess the effects of ASR-based PL intervention on physical and cognitive outcomes using a wide range of sample.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The holistic concept of physical literacy assumes that individuals require adequate cognitive (knowledge and understanding), affective (motivation and confidence), and physical (physical competence) qualities to engage in lifelong physical activity behavior. In recent years, the research field has undergone rapid development and has also yielded an increasing number of interventions that aim to translate the theoretical-philosophical ideas into practical endeavors. OBJECTIVE The goal of the present pre-registered systematic review was to (a) provide a general overview of evaluation studies on physical literacy interventions and (b) to quantitatively examine the effectiveness of physical literacy interventions. METHODS Drawing on the 2020 Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, we searched a total of 18 databases for physical literacy interventions. Inclusion criteria were English language, publication by November 2021, and interventions using physical literacy as a theoretical underpinning or evaluation outcome. Articles that met these criteria were analyzed with respect to their basic delivery characteristics, study quality, evaluation approach, and main findings. We additionally ran meta-analyses with all non-randomized and randomized controlled trials to examine and compare the effect of these interventions on five outcome categories: (i) physical competence, (ii) motivation and confidence, (iii) knowledge and understanding, (iv) physical activity behavior, and (v) total physical literacy. Standardized mean differences (SMDs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated to assess the effects on the different categories. RESULTS The screening process with two independent raters yielded 48 eligible interventions reported in 51 eligible articles. Quantitative evaluations most frequently addressed physical competence (72.2%), followed by motivation and confidence (47.2%), physical activity behavior (41.7%), and knowledge and understanding (33.3%). The controlled intervention studies (n = 24) exerted significant effects on all five physical literacy categories. Despite meaningful heterogeneity across the subgroups, the strongest effects were found for physical competence (SMD 0.90; 95% CI 0.55-1.25), followed by physical literacy aggregate scores (SMD 0.61; 95% CI 0.20-1.01), knowledge and understanding (SMD 0.54; 95% CI 0.30-0.79), physical activity behavior (SMD 0.39; 95% CI 0.23-0.55), and motivation and confidence (SMD 0.30; 95% CI 0.17-0.44). CONCLUSIONS The present study empirically demonstrated the effectiveness of physical literacy interventions on several outcomes relevant for promoting physical activity and health. To better inform current practices, future studies are advised to identify those program characteristics that significantly influence the effectiveness of physical literacy interventions. Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate if children with cerebral palsy have sustained attendance and involvement in physical activities after completing physical activity interventions. METHODS The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines were followed. Seven databases were searched for the period 2001-2020 with hand-searching of pertinent reference lists. Criteria for study inclusion were participants aged 0-18 years and ≥50% with cerebral palsy; follow-up ≥1 month beyond completion of the physical activity intervention; and measurement of attendance and/or involvement in any physical activity post-intervention. Study selection, data extraction, and risk of bias assessments (Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) or tool for non-randomised studies) were completed independently by paired reviewers. Results were compiled by narrative synthesis. RESULTS Thirteen studies were included (11 randomised controlled trials (RCTs), two non-randomised case series; intervention sample sizes: 6-34). All study participants had cerebral palsy and were aged 4-16.7 years. PEDro scores for the RCTs ranged from 5 to 10; 10 did not blind one or more therapist, participant, or assessor. Two case series showed high risk of bias. Twelve studies reported on attendance, with positive changes in three studies. At 4-14 weeks post-intervention, two studies demonstrated positive changes were maintained. Four studies included involvement outcomes; one reporting positive changes in physical activity involvement four weeks after intervention completion. CONCLUSIONS Physical activity attendance may be influenced by physical activity interventions in the short term, but more robust research designs are required to investigate whether gains can be sustained. Activity involvement, which may influence ongoing participation, is under-researched.Implications for RehabilitationPositive changes in attendance and involvement following physical activity interventions appear short term at best.Physical activity interventions should have longer follow-up periods to determine the effect on sustained physical activity participation.Careful selection and reporting of attendance and involvement outcome measures is required.The optimal physical activity intervention to increase attendance or involvement in physical activities remains uncertain.
