Abstract
Since the discovery of polyphenolic resins 150 years ago, the study of polymeric compounds named calix[n]arene has continued to progress, and those skilled in the art perfectly know now how to modulate this phenolic ring. Consequently, calix[n]arenes are now used in a large range of applications and notably in therapeutic fields. In particular, the calix[4]arene exhibits multiple possibilities for regioselective polyfunctionalization on both of its rims and offers researchers the possibility of precisely tuning the geometry of their structures. Thus, in the crucial research of new antibacterial active ingredients, the design of calixarenes finds its place perfectly. This review provides an overview of the work carried out in this aim towards the development of intrinsically active prodrogues or metallic calixarene complexes. Out of all the work of the community, there are some excellent activities emerging that could potentially place these original structures in a very good position for the development of new active ingredients.

Recent Advances in the Synthesis and Applications of m-Aryloxy Phenols. Molecules 2023; 28:molecules28062657. Abstract
Since phenol derivatives have high potential as building blocks for the synthesis of bioactive natural products and conducting polymers, many synthesis methods have been invented. In recent years, innovative synthetic methods have been developed for the preparation of m-aryloxy phenols, which has allowed for the preparation of complex m-aryloxy phenols with functional groups, such as esters, nitriles, and halogens, that impart specific properties of these compounds. This review provides an overview of recent advances in synthetic strategies for m-aryloxy phenols and their potential biological activities. This paper highlights the importance of m-aryloxy phenols in various industries, including plastics, adhesives, and coatings, and it discusses their applications as antioxidants, ultraviolet absorbers, and flame retardants.

Abstract
Abstract
The issue of heavy metal water pollution is one that concerns everyone. Both plants and humans are negatively impacted by heavy metals. Consequently, the environment and water resources require an efficient heavy metal remediation technique. In this context, a series of compounds were investigated as potential chelating agents for the removal of Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb cations from water. By solvent extraction, it was shown that the chelating ligands’ affinity for Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb as indicated by the extraction performance was in the following order: Cu > Zn > Cd > Pb. The size and electrical characteristics of the metal as well as the ligand structure affect how well L1–L6 extracts that metal.

Abstract
The phenoxy-amino ligands 2-(((2-(diethylamino)ethyl)amino)methyl)phenol (L1) and 2-(((2-mercaptoethyl)amino)methyl)-phenol (L2) were studied as model chelating agents for liquid-liquid extraction of copper(II), zinc(II), cadmium(II), and lead(II) cations from water using dichloromethane-water biphasic system. The relative affinities of these chelating ligands for copper(II), zinc(II), cadmium(II), and lead(II) by liquid-liquid extraction were found to be in the order copper(II)> zinc(II) > cadmium(II) > lead(II). The ligands L1 and L2 showed binding efficiencies ranging from 78%-97% for copper(II), 75%-91% for zinc(II), 76%-92% for cadmium(II), and 59%-67% for lead(II). The extraction protocol was successfully applied to sewage effluent.
