Abstract
BACKGROUND Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) analysis has become a promising tool for the diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of lymphoma cases. Until now, research in this area has mainly focused on aggressive lymphomas, with scanty information from other lymphoma subtypes. METHODS We selected 256 patients diagnosed with lymphomas, including a large variety of B-cell and T-cell non-Hodgkin and Hodgkin lymphomas, and quantified cfDNA from plasma at the time of diagnosis. We further selected 49 large B-cell lymphomas (LBCL) and analyzed cfDNA levels at diagnosis (pre-therapy) and after therapy. In addition, we performed NGS on cfDNA and tissue in this cohort of LBCL. RESULTS Lymphoma patients showed a statistically significant higher cfDNA concentration than healthy controls (mean 53.0 ng/mL vs. 5.6 ng/mL, p < 0.001). The cfDNA concentration was correlated with lymphoma subtype, lactate dehydrogenase, the International Prognostic Index (IPI) score, Ann Arbor (AA), and B-symptoms. In 49 LBCL cases, the cfDNA concentration decreased after therapy in cases who achieved complete response (CR) and increased in non-responders. The median cfDNA at diagnosis of patients who achieved CR and later relapsed was higher (81.5 ng/mL) compared with levels of those who did not (38.6 ng/mL). A concordance of 84% was observed between NGS results in tumor and cfDNA samples. Higher VAF in cfDNA is correlated with advanced stage and bulky disease. CONCLUSIONS cfDNA analysis can be easily performed in almost all lymphoma cases. The cfDNA concentration correlated with the characteristics of the aggressiveness of the lymphomas and, in LBCL, with the response achieved after therapy. These results support the utility of cfDNA analysis as a complementary tool in the management of lymphoma patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) is diagnosed definitively by biopsy, and treatment is based on stage. Owing to the nature of the disease, post-treatment efficacy is determined mainly by fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography/computed tomography, and the efficacy of treatment is not confirmed by histopathology. We report a case of tongue cancer after treatment for HL, in which a post-treatment lymph node with complete remission was histopathologically confirmed by neck dissection. CASE The patient was a 74-year-old man who was referred to our hospital for cancer on the right side of his tongue. He had previously undergone chemotherapy for HL involving the right side of his neck and achieved complete remission. Because he had cT3N2cM0 tongue cancer, glossectomy and bilateral neck dissection were performed. Surprisingly, histopathological examination revealed that there was neither metastatic lymph nodes nor lymphoma cells in his right neck. Moreover, there was no lymphatic structure in his remnant lymph nodes. CONCLUSION This was a rare case in which complete remission of HL was confirmed by histopathological analysis. The absence of lymph node structure and lymphatic flow led to contralateral neck lymph node metastases of tongue cancer.

Psoas muscle index at the time of diagnosis might reflect the prognosis of classical Hodgkin's lymphoma patients. Wien Klin Wochenschr 2021; 134:80-82. Abstract
We retrospectively investigated clinical and prognostic significance of psoas muscle index (PMI) calculated as total psoas muscle area at L3 vertebra level obtained from baseline computed tomography (CT) scans in 49 newly diagnosed classical Hodgkin's lymphoma (cHL) patients prior to specific treatment. Median PMI was 572.5 mm2/m2 and was significantly higher in males (P < 0.001), patients with higher body mass index (BMI, P < 0.001), absence of extranodal disease (P = 0.037), higher absolute lymphocyte count (P = 0.037), higher hemoglobin (P = 0.010) and lower lactate dehydrogenase (LDH, P = 0.050). There were no significant associations with age, disease subtype, presence of constitutional symptoms, Ann Arbor disease stage, presence of advanced disease or international prognostic score. Patients with lower PMI had significantly worse PFS (hazard ratio [HR] 4.91; P = 0.009). This phenomenon persisted in the multivariate model (HR = 5.09; P = 0.042) adjusted for International Prognostic Score (IPS) and chemotherapy type.
