Abstract
Gastroesophageal reflux (GER) and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) are the most common inflammatory causes of pediatric dysphagia, but several other less prevalent conditions should be considered. These conditions can affect one or several aspects of the swallowing process. In some inflammatory conditions dysphagia may be an early symptom. Esophagoscopy and instrumental swallow studies are often needed to determine the underlying diagnosis and best treatment plan. In some inflammatory conditions dysphagia can portend a worse outcome and need for more aggressive treatment of the underlying condition. Consultations with speech language pathology, gastroenterology, dietetics, allergy/immunology and/or rheumatology are often needed to optimize management.

Abstract
Replicating human somatosensory networks in robots is crucial for dexterous manipulation, ensuring the appropriate grasping force for objects of varying softness and textures. Despite advances in artificial haptic sensing for object recognition, accurately quantifying haptic perceptions to discern softness and texture remains challenging. Here, we report a methodology that uses a bimodal haptic sensor to capture multidimensional static and dynamic stimuli, allowing for the simultaneous quantification of softness and texture features. This method demonstrates synergistic measurements of elastic and frictional coefficients, thereby providing a universal strategy for acquiring the adaptive gripping force necessary for scarless, antislippage interaction with delicate objects. Equipped with this sensor, a robotic manipulator identifies porcine mucosal features with 98.44% accuracy and stably grasps visually indistinguishable mature white strawberries, enabling reliable tissue palpation and intelligent picking. The design concept and comprehensive guidelines presented would provide insights into haptic sensor development, promising benefits for robotics.

Abstract
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is believed to be caused by various factors, including abnormalities in disease susceptibility genes, environmental factors, immune factors, and intestinal bacteria. Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are the primary drugs used to treat acid-related diseases. They are also commonly prescribed to patients with IBD. Recent studies have suggested a potential association between the use of certain medications, such as PPIs, and the occurrence and progression of IBD. In this review, we summarize the potential impact of PPIs on IBD and analyze the underlying mechanisms. Our findings may provide insights for conducting further investigations into the effects of PPIs on IBD and serve as an important reminder for physicians to exercise caution when prescribing PPIs to patients with IBD.

Abstract
Background and Aims: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a typical polygenic disorder and less frequently shows a monogenic origin. Furthermore, IBD can originate in the context of specific genetic syndromes associated with a risk of autoimmune disorders. We aimed to systematically evaluate the prevalence of IBD in specific genetic syndromes and to review the clinical characteristics of the published cases. Methods: According to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, studies describing patients with IBD and a genetic syndrome and/or studies indicating the prevalence or incidence of IBD in subjects with a genetic syndrome were included. Results: Forty-six studies describing a total of 67 cases of IBD in six genetic syndromes and two personally assessed unpublished cases were included in the review. The majority of cases were associated with Turner syndrome (TS) (38 cases), Down syndrome (DS) (18 cases) and neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) (8 cases). Sporadic cases were described in DiGeorge syndrome (2), Kabuki syndrome (2), and Williams syndrome (1). The prevalence of IBD ranged from 0.67 to 4% in TS and from 0.2 to 1.57% in DS. The incidence of IBD was increased in TS and DS compared to the general population. Eight cases of IBD in TS had a severe/lethal course, many of which described before the year 2000. Two IBD cases in DS were particularly severe. Conclusion: Evidence of a greater prevalence of IBD is accumulating in TS, DS, and NF1. Management of IBD in patients with these genetic conditions should consider the presence of comorbidities and possible drug toxicities.
