The physicians of Portugal are beginning to incorporate into routine clinical practice the proven methods of the Hygia Chronotherapy Trial - 48-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and bedtime hypertension chronotherapy - to improve in a cost-effective matter the diagnosis and management of hypertension and to reduce the overwhelming burden of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in our country.
