Abstract
It is well known that adnexal skin tumors can simulate other cutaneous neoplasia and that various types of benign and malignant skin tumors can develop or modify during pregnancy. Here, we report a case of trichoblastoma mimicking a keratoacanthoma arising in a nevus sebaceous during pregnancy. Given its unique clinical and dermoscopic features, this case highlights the pivotal role of clinicopathological correlation in the diagnosis of adnexal tumors with an atypical clinical presentation.

Abstract
Nevus sebaceous of Jadassohn (NSJ) is a rare congenital lesion that affects the adnexal structures of the skin. It is typically located on the scalp and face of females and presents as a well-defined, slightly elevated, yellow lesion. It is also linked to a high risk of secondary tumors, which are more frequently benign than malignant. In vivo reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) is a non-invasive imaging technique that provides a horizontal image of the skin with a resolution similar to histology. We report a case of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) developed in an NSJ with its dermoscopic, confocal, and histopathological features. A 49-year-old female presented with a well-circumscribed, 1 cm-diameter verrucous, yellowish lesion surrounded by a poorly defined, slightly erythematous, translucent plaque, located on the scalp in the temporoparietal region, which had been present since birth, grew at puberty, and changed its appearance in the last three years. Dermoscopy of the central lesion revealed yellow globules grouped into clusters, with peripheral linear and arborescent thin vessels, surrounded by several translucent nodular lesions with fine, arborizing vessels. RCM examination showed large, monomorphic cells with a hyperreflective periphery and a hyperreflective center located on the central lesion, corresponding to sebocytes, surrounded by multiple dark silhouettes lined with hyperreflective bands of thickened collagen, corresponding to tumor islands. The histopathological findings confirmed the diagnosis of BCC developed on an NJS. RCM can be a useful technique for the non-invasive examination and monitoring of these lesions, taking into account their transformation risk and preventing unnecessary excisions that might have a detrimental aesthetic impact on patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nevus sebaceus of Jadassohn (NSJ) is a complex cutaneous hamartoma with various clinical appearances. AIM To describe different dermoscopic patterns of this nevus according to its evolutionary stages. METHODS This was an analytical study of NSJ carried out in the Department of Dermatology at the University Hospital Hassan II, Fez, Morocco. RESULTS Thirteen patients with a NSJ were enrolled in the study. Elevated verrucous plaques were noticed in 9 patients, homogeneous tumors were described in 2 NSJ, an alopecic patch was found in 1 case, and we had 1 case of malignant transformation into basal cell carcinoma. The dermoscopic aspects of NSJ described in our study were yellowish or brown globules aggregated in clusters on a yellow background. This pattern was significantly related to the first stage of an alopecic patch (p = 0.001). Whitish-yellow lobular aspect and grayish papillary appearance were significantly related to verrucous plaques (p = 0.003). Homogeneous yellow-whitish pattern was related to nodules (p = 0.005). CONCLUSION The establishment of specific dermoscopic features of NSJ according to its evolutionary stages is important for its diagnosis and especially its monitoring in order to detect malignant transformation.

Abstract
The range of pathology seen in the head and neck region is truly amazing and to a large extent probably mirrors the complex signaling pathways and careful orchestration of events that occurs between the primordial germ layers during the development of this region. As is true in general for the entire discipline of pediatric pathology, the head and neck pathology within this age group is as diverse and different as its adult counterpart. Cases that come across the pediatric head and neck surgical pathology bench are more heavily weighted toward developmental and congenital lesions such as branchial cleft anomalies, thyroglossal duct cysts, ectopias, heterotopias, choristomas, and primitive tumors. Many congenital "benign" lesions can cause significant morbidity and even mortality if they compress the airway or other vital structures. Exciting investigations into the molecular embryology of craniofacial development have begun to shed light on the pathogenesis of craniofacial developmental lesions and syndromes. Much more investigation is needed, however, to intertwine aberrations in the molecular ontogeny and development of the head and neck regions to the represented pathology. This review will integrate traditional morphologic embryology with some of the recent advances in the molecular pathways of head and neck development followed by a discussion of a variety of developmental lesions finishing with tumors presumed to be derived from pluripotent/progenitor cells and tumors that show anomalous or aborted development.
