Abstract
The incidence of anterior cruciate ligament injuries in skeletally immature patients has increased in recent years. The gold standard treatment of this type of trauma in children is not yet established. Conservative management may underestimate the risk of new meniscal and chondral tears; on the other hand, a more interventional approach may expose the patient to iatrogenic damage to the growth plate. A correct approach to the skeletally immature patient with knee trauma is therefore essential to guide the decision-making process. This review article aims to present an update on the epidemiology and diagnostic process of pediatric patients with anterior cruciate ligament tears and possible associated injuries. Skeletally Immature Patients With Classic Anterior Cruciate Ligament Bone Bruise Patterns Have a Higher Likelihood of Having an Intact Anterior Cruciate Ligament Compared With Skeletally Mature Patients. Abstract
BACKGROUND The incidence of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears in skeletally immature patients with an ACL bone contusion pattern has been sparsely investigated. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether physeal status has an influence on the likelihood of sustaining an ACL tear when classic bipolar ACL bone bruising pattern is present. METHODS Magnetic resonance imaging reports were queried for "contusion" on all patients between 6 and 22 years between 2015 and 2019. Images were reviewed to denote all intra-articular pathology and the physeal status of the femur and tibia. The primary outcome was the incidence of ACL tears in patients with the presence of bipolar bone contusions. Fischer exact testing was used to determine associations. RESULTS Of 499 patients included, 269 of those had bipolar bone contusions. Patients with bipolar bone contusions and ACL tears had a shorter duration between injury and imaging date compared with patients with ACL tears without bipolar bone contusions (6.9 vs. 38.6 d, P =0.05). Patients with an open femoral physis had a higher likelihood of having an intact ACL despite the presence of bipolar bone contusions than patients with a closed femoral physis (10.8% vs. 1.0%, P <0.001). Of patients with bipolar bone contusions, those with an intact ACL were younger than patients with an ACL tear (14.6 vs. 16.4, P =0.017). CONCLUSIONS Although bipolar bone contusions of the central lateral femoral condyle and posterior lateral tibial plateau are typically found after ACL injury, these bipolar contusions can be found concomitantly with an intact ACL and were more often found in relatively younger patients. Patients who have an open femoral physis have a higher likelihood to have an intact ACL despite the presence of bipolar bone contusions compared with patients who have a closed femoral physis. Abstract
Background: Knee examination guidelines in minors are intended to aid decision-making in the management of knee instability. Clinical question: A Delphi study was conducted with a formal consensus process using a validated methodology with sufficient scientific evidence. A group consensus meeting was held to develop recommendations and practical guidelines for use in the assessment of instability injuries in children. Key findings: there is a lack of evidence to analyse anterior cruciate ligament injuries in children and their subsequent surgical management if necessary. Diagnostic guidelines and clinical assessment of the patient based on a thorough examination of the knee are performed and a guide to anterior cruciate ligament exploration in children is developed. Clinical application: In the absence of a strong evidence base, these established guidelines are intended to assist in that decision-making process to help the clinician decide on the most optimal treatment with the aim of benefiting the patient as much as possible. Following this expert consensus, surgical treatment is advised when the patient has a subjective sensation of instability accompanied by a pivot shift test ++, and may include an anterior drawer test + and a Lachman test +. If these conditions are not present, the conservative approach should be chosen, as the anatomical and functional development of children, together with a physiotherapy programme, may improve the evolution of the injury.

Abstract
Pediatric anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are on the rise, and females experience higher ACL injury risk than males during adolescence. Studies in skeletally immature patients indicate differences in ACL size and joint laxity between males and females after the onset of adolescence. However, functional data regarding the ACL and its anteromedial and posterolateral bundles in the pediatric population remain rare. Therefore, this study uses a porcine model to investigate the sex-specific morphology and biomechanics of the ACL and its bundles throughout skeletal growth. Hind limbs from male and female Yorkshire pigs aged early youth to late adolescence were imaged using magnetic resonance imaging to measure the size and orientation of the ACL and its bundles, then biomechanically tested under anterior-posterior drawer using a robotic testing system. Joint laxity decreased (p < 0.001) while joint stiffness increased (p < 0.001) throughout skeletal growth in both sexes. The ACL was the primary stabilizer against anterior tibial loading, while the functional role of the anteromedial bundle increased with age (p < 0.001), with an earlier increase in males. ACL and posterolateral bundle cross-sectional area and ACL and anteromedial bundle length were larger in males than females during adolescence (p < 0.01 for all), while ACL and bundle sagittal angle remained similar between sexes. Additionally, in situ ACL stiffness versus cross-sectional area regressions were significant across skeletal growth (r2 = 0.75, p < 0.001 in males and r2 = 0.64, p < 0.001 in females), but not within age groups. This study has implications for age and sex-specific surgical intervention strategies and suggests the need for human studies.

Abstract
Background: High anterior knee laxity (AKL) has been prospectively identified as a risk factor for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. Given that ACL morphometry and structural composition have the potential to influence ligamentous strength, understanding how these factors are associated with greater AKL is warranted. Hypothesis: Smaller ACL volumes combined with longer T2* relaxation times would collectively predict greater AKL. Study Design: Cross-sectional study; Level of evidence, 3. Methods: College-aged active male (n = 20) and female (n = 30) participants underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and AKL testing. T2-weighted MRI scans were used to assess ACL volumes, and T2* relaxation times were used to assess ACL structural composition. AKL was measured via a commercial knee arthrometer. Forward stepwise linear regression with sex and weight (first step; suppressor variables) as well as ACL volume and T2* relaxation time (second step; independent variables) was used to predict AKL (dependent variable). Results: After initially adjusting for sex and weight (R2 = 0.19; P = .006), smaller ACL volumes combined with longer T2* relaxation times collectively predicted greater AKL (R2 = 0.52; P < .001; R2Δ = 0.32; PΔ < .001). A smaller ACL volume was the primary predictor of greater AKL (R2Δ = 0.28; P < .001), with a longer T2* relaxation time trending toward a significant contribution to greater AKL (R2Δ = 0.04; P = .062). After adjusting for ACL volume and T2* relaxation time, sex (partial r = 0.05; P = .735) and weight (partial r = 0.05; P = .725) were no longer significant predictors. Conclusion: AKL was largely predicted by ACL volume and to a lesser extent by T2* relaxation time (and not a person’s sex and weight). These findings enhance our understanding of how AKL may be associated with a structurally weaker ACL. The current study presents initial evidence that AKL is a cost-effective and clinically accessible measure that shows us something about the structural composition of the ACL. As AKL has been consistently shown to be a risk factor for ACL injuries, work should be done to continue to investigate what AKL may tell a clinician about the structure and composition of the ACL.

Abstract
PURPOSE The purpose of this exploratory study was to examine the relationship between the tensile and the torsional properties of the native scapholunate interosseous ligament (SLIL) and kinematics of the scaphoid and lunate of an intact wrist during passive radioulnar deviation. METHODS Eight fresh-frozen cadaveric specimens were transected at the elbow joint and loaded into a custom jig. Kinematic data of the scaphoid and lunate were acquired in a simulated resting condition for 3 wrist positions-neutral, 10° radial deviation, and 30° ulnar deviation-using infrared-emitting rigid body trackers. The SLIL bone-ligament-bone complex was then resected and loaded on a materials testing machine. Specimens underwent cyclic torsional and tensile testing and SLIL tensile and torsional laxity were evaluated. Correlations between scaphoid and lunate rotations and SLIL tensile and torsional properties were determined using Pearson correlation coefficients. RESULTS Ulnar deviation of both the scaphoid and the lunate were found to decrease as the laxity of SLIL in torsion increased. In addition, the ratio of lunate flexion-extension to radial-ulnar deviation was found to increase with increased SLIL torsional rotation. CONCLUSIONS Our findings support the theory that there is a relationship between scapholunate kinematics and laxity at the level of the interosseous ligaments. CLINICAL RELEVANCE Laxity and, specifically, the tensile and torsional properties of an individual's native SLIL should guide reconstruction using a graft material that more closely replicates the individual's native SLIL properties.

Abstract
Partial and complete anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries occur in both pediatric and adult populations and can result in loss of joint stability and function. The sigmoidal shape of knee joint function (load-translation curve) under applied loads includes a low-load region (described by slack length) followed by a high-load region (described by stiffness). However, the impact of age and injury on these parameters is not fully understood. The current objective was to measure the effects of age and injury on the shape of joint function in a porcine model. In response to an applied anterior-posterior tibial load, in situ slack did not change (p > 0.05), despite sevenfold increases in joint size with increasing age. Joint stiffness increased from an average of 10 N/mm in early youth to 47 N/mm in late adolescence (p < 0.05). In situ ACL stiffness increased similarly, and changes in in situ joint stiffness and ACL stiffness were highly correlated across ages. With complete ACL injury, in situ slack length increased by twofold to fourfold and in situ stiffness decreased threefold to fourfold across ages (p < 0.05). Partial ACL injury resulted in less dramatic, but statistically significant, increases in joint slack and significant decreases in in situ joint stiffness in the adolescent age groups (p < 0.05). This work furthers our understanding of the interaction between joint biomechanics and ACL function throughout growth and the impact of ACL injury in the skeletally immature joint.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Bone bruise characteristics after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury have been correlated with the level of joint derangement in adults. However, the literature lacks information about younger patients, whose higher ligamentous laxity may lead to different lesion patterns. PURPOSE To investigate the prevalence, size, location, and role of bone bruise associated with ACL rupture in the pediatric population. STUDY DESIGN Cross-sectional study; Level of evidence, 3. METHODS Knee magnetic resonance imaging scans (MRIs) of patients aged 8 to 16 years with ACL tears from 2010 to 2018 were selected from the institution database. Inclusion criteria were open or partially open physes, less than 90 days between trauma and MRI, and no history of injury or surgery. Presence, localization, and size of bone bruise were analyzed by 2 blinded researchers and scored with the Whole-Organ Magnetic Resonance Imaging Score (WORMS) bone bruise subscale. Ligamentous, cartilaginous, meniscal, and other lesions were documented. RESULTS Of the 78 pediatric patients selected from the database, 54 (69%) had bone bruise. The mean area of bone bruise was larger in males than in females (femur, 3.8 ± 2.8 vs 2.2 ± 1.4 cm2, respectively, P = .006; tibia, 2.6 ± 1.6 vs 1.5 ± 0.8 cm2, respectively, P = .007). The subregions most affected by bone bruise were the lateral posterior tibia and the lateral central femur (in 83% and 80% of the knees affected, respectively). A low correlation was found between age and bone bruise area (biggest areas r = 0.30, P = .03, and sum of areas r = 0.27, P = .04), but no correlation was found between age and WORMS (femur, r = -0.03, P = .85; tibia, r = -0.04, P = .76). The injuries most associated with bone bruise were 23 meniscal lesions (43%), 10 lesions of other ligaments (19.0%), 2 cartilage lesions (3.7%), and 2 patellar fractures (3.7%). CONCLUSION The prevalence of bone bruises in pediatric patients with ACL tears is high, although it seems slightly lower than the prevalence documented in adults but with similar localization. The area and the distribution pattern of bone bruises are similar among different ages. The pediatric patients had a lower presence of cartilage and meniscal lesions compared with that reported in adults, which suggests a different effect of this trauma on the knee of pediatric patients.

Abstract
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears in skeletally immature patients are on the rise; pediatric athletes are now in constant year-round sports participation. Nonoperative treatment may lead to poor functional outcomes and an increase in associated intra-articular lesions and sometimes can cause drop-out from sports activity. The treatment of these injuries is not at all clear, and appropriate guidelines do not exist. Physeal-sparing and partial physeal-sparing techniques have been described. Concerns about restoring normal knee kinematics with the previously described ACL reconstruction (ACLR) techniques are open to debate. We describe a partial epiphyseal ACLR to be done in skeletally immature patients involved in highly demanding sport activities. This technique is performed with an extraphyseal femoral tunnel drilled retrograde, a transphyseal tibial tunnel, and a retrograde tibial drilling without trespassing the tibial physis. We added a modified Lemaire procedure to improve rotational instability to the previously performed ACLR.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We compared autografts and allograft using partial and complete transphyseal anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction techniques among skeletally immature individuals. METHODS Male and females younger than 18 and 16 years old, respectively, diagnosed with ACL tear from April 2006 to March 2012 entered the study. One group had four-strand hamstring autograft, and the other had tibialis posterior allograft reconstruction. Those who had allografts either had hyper-laxity or recurvatum. RESULTS Achieved mean (± SD) 2000 International Knee Documentation Committee subjective score was not statistically different (P = 0.385) between allograft (n = 13) (84.3 ± 3.2) and autograft groups (n = 18) (85.6 ± 4.4). Mean Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) subscale Knee-Related Quality of Life at 2 years was 78.0 ± 7.2 and 75 ± 7.4 for allograft and autograft groups, respectively (p = 0.261). Mean 2-year KOOS subscale Sports and Recreation was 82.1 ± 5.8 and 84.8 ± 6.6 for allograft and autograft groups, respectively (p = 0.244). No patient reported instability, giving way, or locking of the knee. Pivot shift test was negative in all patients; however, a minor positive Lachman test was found in six cases (46%) within the allograft group and seven cases (39%) in the autograft group. One postoperative septic arthritis was documented in the autograft group. CONCLUSION Considering existing concern that joint laxity and recurvatum are among the precursors of non-contact ACL injury in adolescents, bone-patellar-bone autografts are not applicable in this age group because of the open physis; furthermore, considering that hamstring autografts are insufficient (size thickness and stretchability), we recommend soft tissue allografts for ACL reconstruction in skeletally immature patients.

Abstract
PURPOSE The ideal material for reconstruction of the scapholunate interosseous ligament (SLIL) should replicate the mechanical properties of the native SLIL to recreate normal kinematics and prevent posttraumatic arthritis. The purpose of our study was to evaluate the cyclic torsional and tensile properties of the native SLIL and load to failure tensile properties of the dorsal SLIL. METHODS The SLIL bone complex was resected from 10 fresh-frozen cadavers. The scaphoid and lunate were secured in polymethylmethacrylate and mounted on a test machine that incorporated an x-y stage and universal joint, which permitted translations perpendicular to the rotation/pull axis as well as nonaxial angulations. After a 1 N preload, specimens underwent cyclic torsional testing (±0.45 N m flexion/extension at 0.5 Hz) and tensile testing (1-50 N at 1 Hz) for 500 cycles. Lastly, the dorsal 10 mm of the SLIL was isolated and displaced at 10 mm/min until failure. RESULTS During intact SLIL cyclic torsional testing, the neutral zone was 29.7° ± 6.6° and the range of rotation 46.6° ± 7.1°. Stiffness in flexion and extension were 0.11 ± 0.02 and 0.12 ± 0.02 N m/deg, respectively. During cyclic tensile testing, the engagement length was 0.2 ± 0.1 mm, the mean stiffness was 276 ± 67 N/mm, and the range of displacement was 0.4 ± 0.1 mm. The dorsal SLIL displayed a 0.3 ± 0.2 mm engagement length, 240 ± 65 N/mm stiffness, peak load of 270 ± 91 N, and displacement at peak load of 1.8 ± 0.3 mm. CONCLUSIONS We report the torsional properties of the SLIL. Our novel test setup allows for free rotation and translation, which reduces out-of-plane force application. This may explain our observation of greater dorsal SLIL load to failure than previous reports. CLINICAL RELEVANCE By matching the natural ligament with respect to its tensile and torsional properties, we believe that reconstructions will better restore the natural kinematics of the wrist and lead to improved outcomes. Future clinical studies should aim to investigate this further.

Abstract
Acute patellar dislocation affects approximately 1:1000 healthy children 9-15 years of age, and up to 50% are at risk for recurrent dislocations. In adults the condition is associated with long-term complications, such as osteoarthritis and impairment of knee function. However, literature describing the outcome in a pediatric population is sparse. The present review article evaluates the long-term effects on knee function and cartilage quality after traumatic patellar dislocation in childhood, and also to evaluate the reliability of two clinical tests of medio-lateral knee position, in healthy children.

Abstract
Background: Generalized joint laxity has been linked to ligamentous injuries such as anterior cruciate ligament tear and ankle sprain. Purpose/Hypothesis: The purpose of this study was to investigate generalized joint laxity and incidence of ligament injuries in high school–aged female volleyball players. It was hypothesized that volleyball players with a past history of sprains would have increased generalized joint laxity compared with those without any history and that athletes with multiple sprains would demonstrate with a higher generalized joint laxity score than those who had only 1 sprain. Study Design: Case-control study; Level of evidence, 3. Methods: Forty-seven subjects were tested for generalized joint laxity using the Beighton and Horan Joint Mobility Index (BHJMI). They were categorized into 2 groups based on the presence of past ligament injury: injury group (IG) and noninjury group (NG). The IG group was further divided into 2 groups based on whether they had a single ligamentous injury (IGS) or multiple injuries (IGM) in the past to study whether there was any difference in scores between the subgroups. The collected data were analyzed statistically with 1-way analysis of variance. Results: Subjects in the IG group scored significantly higher on the BHJMI than those in the NG group. The mean score for the IG group was 2.40 ± 1.42, as opposed to 1.24 ± 1.09 for the NG group (P = .006). Eleven subjects in the IG group had suffered multiple injuries or recurrent injuries (IGM) and scored significantly higher than the remaining 19 individuals in the IG group, who had only sustained a single injury (IGS). The mean BHJMI scores were 3.18 ± 1.47 and 1.95 ± 1.22 for IGM and IGS, respectively (P = .02). Conclusion: Female athletes with a high generalized joint laxity score may be more prone to ligament injury and potentially to recurrent ligament injuries.

Abstract
Several devices allow to measure anterior and rotational static knee laxity. To date, the use of rotational laxity measurements in the daily clinical practice however remains to be improved. These measurements may be systematically integrated to the follow-up of knee injuries. Physiologic laxity measurements may particularly be of interest for the identification of risk factors in athletes. Furthermore, knee laxity measurements help to improve the diagnosis of knee soft tissue injuries and to follow up reconstructions. Further prospective follow-ups of knee laxity in the injured/reconstructed knees are however required to conclude on the best treatment strategy for knee soft tissue injuries.

Abstract
The increased participation of children and adolescents in organized sports worldwide is a welcome trend given evidence of lower physical fitness and increased prevalence of overweight in this population. However, the increased sports activity of children from an early age and continued through the years of growth, against a background of their unique vulnerability to injury, gives rise to concern about the risk and severity of injury. Three types of injury–anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, concussion, and physeal injury – are considered potentially serious given their frequency, potential for adverse long-term health outcomes, and escalating healthcare costs. Concussion is probably the hottest topic in sports injury currently with voracious media coverage and exploding research interest. Given the negative cognitive effects of concussion, it has the potential to have a great impact on children and adolescents during their formative years and potentially impair school achievement and, if concussion management is not managed appropriately, there can be long term negative impact on cognitive development and ability to resume sports participation. Sudden and gradual onset physeal injury is a unique injury to the pediatric population which can adversely affect growth if not managed correctly. Although data are lacking, the frequency of stress-related physeal injury appears to be increasing. If mismanaged, physeal injuries can also lead to long-term complications which could negatively affect ability to participate in sports. Management of ACL injuries is an area of controversy and if not managed appropriately, can affect long-term growth and recovery as well as the ability to participate in sports. This article considers the young athlete’s vulnerability to injury, with special reference to ACL injury, concussion, and physeal injury, and reviews current research on epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of these injury types. This article is intended as an overview of these injury types for medical students, healthcare professionals and researchers.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Differences in knee joint stabilization between children and adults and between the sexes are not fully understood. PURPOSE To compare the knee laxity and the dynamic tibial translation between (1) children and adults, (2) girls and boys, and (3) women and men. STUDY DESIGN Controlled laboratory study. METHODS Sixty-seven children (aged 8-13 years) and 63 adults (aged 18-30 years) without previous knee injuries participated. Sagittal tibial translation was measured during the instrumented Lachman test at 90 N and 134 N (knee laxity) and during gait (dynamic translation). Tibial translation was recorded with an electrogoniometer. RESULTS Knee laxity was greater in children than in adults (Lachman test at 90 N: 9.1 ± 2.9 vs 7.3 ± 2.7, respectively; P < .001). In contrast, dynamic tibial translation during gait did not differ between children and adults. Girls and boys did not differ in knee laxity or maximum anterior tibial translation during gait, and men and women did not differ in knee laxity. Women had greater dynamic tibial translation during gait than men (7.8 ± 2.7 vs 5.7 ± 3.0, respectively; P = .004). CONCLUSION Children had greater knee laxity than adults, whereas the dynamic tibial translation did not differ. In adults, knee laxity did not differ between the sexes, but dynamic tibial translation was greater in women. CLINICAL RELEVANCE Children and men had less dynamic tibial translation during gait in proportion to their maximum knee laxity. The observed less dynamic tibial translation in children and adult men might be related to their reduced risk of sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Abstract
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in skeletally immature individuals remain a challenge for the child, the parents, orthopaedic surgeons, and physical therapists. The main challenges are the potential risk of recurrent instability, secondary injuries following nonoperative treatment, and the risks involved with surgical treatment due to the vulnerability of the epiphyseal growth plates. We first present the physiological background for considerations that must be made when advising on treatment alternatives for skeletally immature individuals after ACL injury. The implications of continuous musculoskeletal development for treatment decisions are emphasized. No randomized controlled trials have been performed to investigate outcomes of different treatment algorithms. There is no consensus in the literature on clinical treatment decision criteria for whether a skeletally immature child should undergo transphyseal ACL reconstruction, physeal sparing ACL reconstruction, or nonoperative treatment. Additionally, well-described rehabilitation programs designed for either nonoperative treatment or postoperative rehabilitation have not been published. Based on the currently available evidence, we propose a treatment algorithm for the management of ACL injuries in skeletally immature individuals. Finally, we suggest directions for future prospective studies, which should include development of valid and reliable outcome measures and specific rehabilitation programs.

Abstract
An increasing number of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are seen in children now than in the past due to increased sports participation. The natural history of ACL deficient knees in active individuals, particularly in children is poor. Surgical management of ACL deficiency in children is complex due to the potential risk of injury to the physis and growth disturbance. Delaying ACL reconstruction until maturity is possible but risks instability episodes and intra-articular damage. Surgical options include physeal-sparing, partial transphyseal and complete transphyseal procedures. This article reviews the management of ACL injured skeletally immature patients including the functional outcome and complications of contemporary surgical techniques.

Abstract
PURPOSE The first purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the anterior knee laxity in the three regions of different stiffness in the force-displacement curve, which was obtained from a frequently used arthrometer for quantifying knee joint stability in the patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture and the healthy controls. The second purpose was to compare the characteristics from the regional analysis of the anterior knee laxity between the two subject groups in order to explore proper diagnosis criteria. METHODS Seventy-one patients with unilateral ACL tear and eighty healthy controls were enrolled and their anterior knee laxities were tested using the KT-2000 arthrometer. The displacements and stiffness of the three regions were extracted separately and compared between groups to further develop the diagnostic criteria. RESULTS The results indicated that the laxity behavior was mostly affected in Region 2 and Region 3 after ACL tear. Two good indicators for ACL tear were found in the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis: Region 2 with the displacement larger than 3.7 mm and Region 3 with the stiffness smaller than 22 N/mm. These two criteria provided a better diagnostic accuracy with increased sensitivity. CONCLUSIONS The regional analysis method developed in this study could provide more information for understanding the characteristics of the anterior knee laxity and help increase the diagnostic accuracy for ACL rupture. Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare two different strategies of management for ACL rupture in skeletally immature patient. In group 1, patients were treated in a children hospital by ACL reconstruction with open physis. In group 2, patients were treated in an adult hospital by delayed reconstruction at skeletal maturity assessed radiologically. Fifty-six consecutive patients were included in this retrospective study. Mean time from injury to surgery in group 1 and 2 was, respectively, 13.5 and 30 months. Patients from group 2 exhibited a higher rate of medial meniscal tears (41%) compare to group 1 (16%) and higher rate of meniscectomy. Both groups had the same rate of lateral meniscal tears. A temporary tibial valgus deformity was reported which was subsequently spontaneously resolved. No definitive growth disturbance was noticed. At 27 months mean follow-up, a best subjective IKDC score was found in group 1. Objective IKDC and radiological results were similar in both groups. Early ACL reconstruction is therefore a recommended option.
