Abstract
BACKGROUND Having a well-defined jawline is a sign of youth and attractiveness among both men and women. Soft tissue fillers, such as calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) and hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, offer nonsurgical alternatives for rejuvenating the lower face and enhancing the jawline. The aim of this study was to investigate the use of a premixed combination of HA with cohesive polydensified matrix technology (CPM, Belotero Intense, CPM-I) and CaHA to create a sharply defined jawline. METHODS A total of 126 patients were enrolled in the study and treated with a premixed combination of CPM-I and CaHA using a retrograde fanning injection technique with cannulas. The injection volumes and product ratios were customized according to the patients' needs. RESULTS The cohort consisted of 75 females and 51 males. The average injected volume of premixed CaHA:CPM-I was 5.83 mL. In the majority of patients, a 1:1 syringe ratio of CaHA:CPM-I was applied (n = 81, 64.2%). No adverse events were reported during the 6-month follow-up period. CONCLUSION The hybrid filler approach investigated in this study shows promise for achieving well-defined, long-lasting jawline contours. Abstract
Objective As the population ages, facial plastic providers must remain aware of the treatments to prevent and reverse the external signs of aging. In the mandibular region, skin laxity and soft tissue sagging in the jawline may lead to jowling and chin ptosis along with reduced chin projection. While surgical procedures, including chin implantation, may be performed, nonsurgical procedures are becoming increasingly popular due to their temporary, noninvasive, yet effective methods. This review covers the use of hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, poly-l-lactic acid, and polymethyl methacrylate in the jawline. Methods PubMed was searched for data on the mechanism of action, pertinent anatomy, indications, contraindications, technique, and evidence supporting the safety and efficacy of the fillers. Results There are a wide variety of fillers available for use in the lower face with unique characteristics and application methods. While the advantages of injectable fillers include relatively affordable cost, minimal patient discomfort, and limited recovery times, taking measures to prevent short- and long-term complications is necessary for optimal results. Conclusions Understanding the benefits and limitations of injectable fillers in the jawline can help providers appropriately counsel and treat patients.

Abstract
A well-defined jawline is aesthetically pleasing, so that rejuvenation of the jawline is becoming part of routine aesthetic practice. Restoring balance to the lower face without surgical intervention requires a multiple treatment approach, among which the minimally invasive injectables play a central role. Nevertheless, amidst the plethora of different injectable products available, choosing the option that best suits the patient's need can be a challenge. A panel of experts sought to describe herein 4 clinical cases, illustrating the Contouring Plus technique, which provides a practical guidance for lower third assessment, choice of products, and treatment execution, especially among hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxylapatite, aiming for immediate, as well as mid-to-long-term results.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Facial aging is a multifactorial process in which considerable changes occur in different face structures. Thread lifting is one of the most common minimally invasive treatments related to facial rejuvenation. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of jawline, jaw angle, and marionette lines correction in combination with APTOS threads and ELLANSE M types through an innovative technique. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this prospective chart review study, 50 patients with ptosis candidates for lower face correction were included between October 2019 to February 2020. To perform correction of the jawline, jaw angle, and marionette lines, APTOS thread (LLN2GS) and ELLANSE M type were used through an innovative technique. The efficacy (six and twelve months after the surgery) and safety (one, six, and eight weeks after the surgery) were assessed by two surgeons independently. Data were analyzed by SPSS ver. 22 for windows (IBM Inc, NY). RESULTS In this study, 50 patients (4 male, 46 female) with Mean±SD age of 53.84±10.79 years old (Range: 42 years) were included. Regarding the results, patients' level of satisfaction (improved to excellent levels) increased from 74% six months after the surgery to 86% twelve months after the surgery. Moreover, the level of satisfaction obtained from surgeons (improved to excellent levels) decreased from 96% to 86% at six months and twelve months after the surgery, respectively. Based on the results, there were substantial and perfect agreements between the surgeon and the independent surgeon to evaluate the surgery efficacy of facial rejuvenation six and twelve months after the surgery. No side effects were reported after 6 and 8 weeks after surgery. CONCLUSION Regarding the results, due to rare complications, deep satisfaction, and short downtime, the correction of the lower face in combination with APTOS thread (LLN2G) and ELLANSE M type through our innovative technique be considered an efficient and safe treatment.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Jawline augmentation with calcium hydroxylapatite has not yet been evaluated in a prospective study with a split-face design. This study aims to perform the first randomized controlled, split-face study on the efficacy and safety of calcium hydroxylapatite for jawline augmentation using the needle and cannula technique. OBJECTIVE To perform the first randomized controlled, split-face study on the efficacy and safety of calcium hydroxylapatite for jawline augmentation using the needle and cannula technique. MATERIALS AND METHODS This is a single-site, randomized, evaluator-blind trial enrolling a total of 10 healthy subjects with at least Grade 1 (mild) on a 4-point Jawline Scale. One side of the face was randomized to receive 1 to 2 syringes of calcium hydroxylapatite with lidocaine (total of 3 mL) for correction of wrinkles and folds along the jawline using both the cannula and needle method, and a balancing treatment will be performed 1 month later. Blinded investigator and subject evaluations will be performed immediately after treatment and at the 30-, 60-, and 90-day visits. RESULTS Ten subjects were enrolled and completed the trial. There was a improvement in the degree of wrinkling and skin sagging in the 4-point Jawline Scale, with an average of a 1.3-point improvement in the scale on the day of treatment and at the Day 30 visit, which remained improved greater than baseline after 3 months as graded by blinded investigators. The Clinician Global Aesthetic Improvement Score for the treated side versus control, as assessed by blinded investigators, demonstrated a improvement with a 2.3-point improvement on the 5-point scale, and by the final visit on Day 90, most patients had a much improved appearance from baseline. CONCLUSION This study demonstrates that calcium hydroxylapatite is effective and safe for restoration and augmentation of the jawline using the unique needle and cannula technique.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Aesthetic treatment of the lower face is increasingly in demand, particularly owing to age-related changes in appearance. VYC-25L is a novel hyaluronic acid filler with high G' and high cohesivity, specifically designed for sculpting and contouring of the chin and jaw. OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to assess the use of a grid traced onto the chin and jaw for guiding treatment with VYC-25L. METHODS This was a retrospective, single-center analysis of data from adult patients undergoing treatment of the lower third of the face with VYC-25L. A grid system of horizontal and vertical lines was used to systematize the process of treatment planning and performance. RESULTS Thirty subjects were enrolled (53.3% female; mean [standard deviation] age, 34.4 [2.8] years). The mean quantity of VYC-25L used was 4.0 [0.8] mL. Based on the 5-point Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale, 29 patients (96.7%) rated their appearance at 20 days posttreatment as "much improved" or "very much improved." The only complications recorded were early transient soft-tissue edema (n = 14; 46.7%) and bruising (n = 6; 20.0%). There were no cases of infection, paresthesia, asymmetry, hematoma, necrosis, or skin discoloration. CONCLUSIONS Treatment of the chin and jawline with VYC-25L, with injection locations determined by a standardized grid-based approach, appears to be effective and safe with high rates of patient satisfaction. Injection of this filler offers a potentially high-impact approach for patients across a variety of biological and economic circumstances. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: 4

Abstract
The lower third is very important for the pleasant appearance of the face. A well-contoured jawline is desirable in men and women, giving a perception of beauty and youth. It is also key to sexual dimorphism, defining masculine and feminine characteristics. The nonsurgical rejuvenation and beautification of the lower third of the face is becoming more frequent. Injectable fillers can reshape the jawline, lift soft tissues, and improve facial proportions, effectively improving the appearance of the area. It is paramount to understand the facial anatomy and perform a good facial assessment in order to propose a proper aesthetic treatment plan. The aesthetic goal of the rejuvenation approach is to redefine the mandibular angle and line. In young patients, beautification can be achieved through correction of constitutional deficit or enhancement of the contour of the face, improving the facial shape. It is very important to possess knowledge of facial anatomy and of the aging process in order to deliver effective and safe results. In this article, we discuss the anatomy of the lower third of the face, facial assessment, aging process, and treatments of the chin, prejowls and mandibular line and angle with injectable fillers. The authors’ experience in the approach of this area is discussed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A well-defined jawline is a critical component in the perception of facial attractiveness in both men and women. Dermal fillers offer a nonsurgical, temporary method of correcting mild-to-moderate mandibular bone resorption. AIMS The authors discuss pertinent aspects of anatomy, pathophysiology of aging, patient evaluation, gender considerations, injection technique, and complications in jawline augmentation using injectable fillers. METHODS A brief review of the literature surrounding jawline augmentation using injectable fillers in both men and women, as well as the authors' experience in this area, is provided. RESULTS Nonsurgical jawline augmentation using injectable fillers can be performed effectively and safely with adequate background knowledge of the regional anatomy and appropriate patient selection. The authors discuss both injection techniques in the published literature and their own approach. Potential complications are also reviewed. CONCLUSION Jawline rejuvenation is a key component to global facial aesthetic rejuvenation. Therefore, it is important for physicians to understand how to safely and effectively perform nonsurgical jawline rejuvenation using injectable fillers.
