Abstract
PURPOSE This narrative literature review examines intersectional employee voice inequalities in a non-Western, high power distance context to develop a multilevel conceptual framework. DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH The authors use Leininger's (1997, 2002) culture care model to explore multilevel influences on intersectional voice inequalities. The article applies insights from a review of 31 studies to the specific challenges of migrant palliative care (PC) nurses in Saudi Arabia. FINDINGS The themes identified in the review indicate how better transcultural communications might mitigate voice inequalities that influence migrant employee wellbeing and intentions to quit which result from cultural incongruities. ORIGINALITY/VALUE The impact of national culture differences and intersectional inequalities on employee voice has largely been ignored in academic research. This paper offers unique insights drawing on culture care theory into intersectional voice challenges from a non-Western perspective in the underresearched setting of Saudi Arabia which is mid-way through a national transformation program. It starkly contrasts policy ambitions for advancing healthcare with discriminatory practices based on conservative attitudes which stifle migrant worker voices.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Palliative care alleviates pain and enhances the quality of life of patients with life-threatening illnesses. Training programs are required to provide patients with proper care and advance their health because the expertise of healthcare personnel in palliative care is inadequate. AIM We aimed to assess healthcare professionals' knowledge of palliative care because palliative care programs are infrequently used in Syria. METHODS An online cross-sectional study was conducted between July 24, 2022, and August 28, 2022, to assess palliative care knowledge and applications among Syrian healthcare workers. The study questionnaire was designed in accordance with a previous study, and the inclusion criteria included Syrian healthcare workers, physicians, and nurses, as well as medical and nursing students. The first section of the questionnaire included sociodemographic information, while the second, third, and fourth sections assessed healthcare workers' experiences, knowledge, and attitudes toward palliative care, respectively. RESULTS Of the 602 participants, 66.2% of the sample study were females. The majority of the respondents (72.9%) were medical students, with 18.8% residents and 8.3% nurses or nursing students. The majority of the participants (84%) correctly answered the question about pain treatment goals, while only a small percentage (5.3%) correctly answered the question about whether long-term opioid use was addictive. There were no statistically significant differences in the overall knowledge levels across demographic areas, genders, or specialties. Only 14 participants were considered knowledgeable about palliative care. Regarding attitudes toward palliative care, the three responses that received the greatest degree of agreement were "Pain relievers should be given as needed to terminally ill patients" (89.7%) and "Patients have the right to determine their own degree of psychosocial intervention" (81%). Residents in urban and rural areas scored markedly different in their attitudes. Students in their fifth year were 8.06 times more likely to have a positive attitude when compared to those in their first year. CONCLUSIONS Our findings show that Syrian healthcare providers lack knowledge of palliative care. It is important to integrate palliative care into Syria's healthcare system to enhance the quality of life of patients who are approaching the end of their lives and to provide care for those who require it.

Abstract
BACKGROUND For terminally sick neonates and their families, it's crucial to provide holistic nursing care that incorporates both curative and palliative care as much as feasible. It is well known that the biggest obstacle to delivering palliative care for neonatal children is a lack of training for nurses. Aim: The aim of this research is to investigate the experiences of nurses who provide care for neonates who are terminally ill as well as their educational requirements for neonatal palliative care. METHOD A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 200 nurses working in a tertiary center providing care for terminally ill neonates in Saudi Arabia. Data was collected from using Neonatal Palliative Care Questionnaire (QNPC) from January 2021 to March 2021. RESULTS Two hundred nurses were surveyed (the response rate was 79%). The mean age of the 158 participants was 35.67 (standard deviation (SD): 7.43), and the majority were female (151; 95.6%). The majority were bachelor's holders (119; 75.3%), with more than 5 years of experience in providing care for neonates (100; 63.3%). Most of the participants reported not receiving any education about palliative care (115; 72.8%). Nurses reported a moderate level of experience in all areas of neonatal palliative care. The total mean score of palliative care experiences of neonates was 3.42 (SD: 1.35). However, the majority of nurses reported little experience discussing the transition period to palliative care for neonates 2.95 (SD: 1.93), the discussion of code status (DNR) during terminal illness of neonates 3.11 (SD: 1.54) and spiritual support 2.90 (SD: 1.55). CONCLUSION The assessment of the fundamental skills of neonatal palliative care by nurses was insufficient. To enhance the quality of care, it is crucial to incorporate education on neonatal palliative care into programs for nursing staff development.

Abstract
Introducción: la necesidad de la enseñanza de los cuidados paliativos a los profesionales de la salud es cada vez más imperante en el mundo y en Latinoamérica. Los educadores deben reconocer los avances para la enseñanza de los cuidados paliativos a través de nuevas formas de aprendizaje. Objetivo: caracterizar las metodologías, contenidos y efectos de la enseñanza del cuidado paliativo en estudiantes del área de la salud en literatura publicada entre los años 2016 y 2020. Métodos: se realizó una revisión de literatura tipo scoping review.Se revisaron artículos publicados en revistas indexadas en las bases de datos Medline, Cuiden, Lilacs, CINAHL durante el periodo 2016-2020 en inglés, español y portugués. Se seleccionaron 25 investigaciones luego de realizar el proceso de crítica de la evidencia. Resultados: los estudios incluidos fueron en su mayoría realizados con metodologías cuantitativas, en Estados Unidos y con poblaciones de estudiantes de enfermería. La información extraída de los artículos se organizó en cuatro temas: 1) cursos educativos en cuidado paliativo, 2) estrategias de simulación, 3) conocimientos en cuidados paliativos de los estudiantes, y 4) actitudes y emociones de los estudiantes ante los cuidados paliativos. Conclusiones: las estrategias encontradas para enseñar los cuidados paliativos incluyen cursos completamente virtuales o en multimodalidad y simulación clínica o en laboratorios. En general, la evidencia muestra el interés que existe por parte de los estudiantes para recibir este tipo de curso y la importancia que tienen en su desarrollo profesional.

Abstract
(1) Background: Nursing students should be well-prepared and educated in order to provide high-quality palliative care (PC) to patients with chronic diseases, which will have an impact on the quality of care for dying patients in the future; this study aimed to investigate the level of knowledge about PC and attitudes towards the care of dying patients among Palestinian nursing undergraduate students; (2) Methods: The study was a descriptive quantitative cross-sectional study design of 410 nursing students who participated and completed the questionnaire. The PC Quiz for Nurses (PCQN) and the Short Version of the Frommelt Attitudes Towards Care of the Dying (FATCOD) Form B Scales were used to assess students’ PC knowledge and attitudes toward PC and caring for dying patients. Generalized linear regression analysis was applied to identify the influencing variables on knowledge and attitudes; (3) Results: The overall knowledge mean score was 7.42 ± 2.93, ranging from 0 to 20, which indicates that nursing students lacked knowledge about PC; however, they have a positive attitude (25.94 ± 4.72; ranging from 9 to 45) toward care for a dying person. Receiving lectures or training about PC, caring for relatives in their last days of life, gender, and year of study were independently associated with students’ knowledge and attitudes about PC and care of dying patients; and (4) Conclusion: This study generated evidence showing insufficient knowledge about PC among nursing students at the Al-Quds University, Palestine, albeit a favorable attitude towards EoLC was shown. Integrating PC education into the nursing curriculum at Palestinian Universities need to increase their awareness of PC.

Abstract
Aging populations and a rising disease burden have increased the need for palliative care (PC). Despite the growing demand for PC, only 14% of patients worldwide receive this service. Home-based PC is necessary because many people prefer to receive care and die at home. Nurses are well equipped to address diverse health care needs in the community and are critical to successful delivery of home-based PC. The purpose of this review is to synthesize and analyze literature relevant to home-based PC in Saudi Arabia with an emphasis on nursing. This purpose required us to examine literature in two areas: PC and home health care (HHC). We identified studies through database searches. We found 24 studies published between 2005 and 2021 that met quality and inclusion criteria. Although PC and HHC are associated with positive outcomes, lack of nurses’ knowledge and awareness of PC and the underdevelopment of HHC in Saudi Arabia have contributed to underuse of these services. Nurses are vital to the functioning of interdisciplinary teams and effective interfacing with patients, caregivers, and families. Education and training of nurses in Saudi Arabia is essential to promoting access to PC and HHC and the development of home-based PC in the kingdom.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This research aimed to survey a sample of nursing students and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students in Jordan about their knowledge of pediatric palliative care (PPC) in the context of treating terminally ill children. METHOD A descriptive, cross-sectional, correlational design was used to fulfill the goal of this research. A convenience sample of nursing and PharmD students currently studying in Jordan University of Science and Technology in Jordan was recruited to complete a survey that contained 20 statements about issues on and around the subject of PPC. RESULTS The results showed that there was a significant difference in PPC between nurses and PharmD students. The mother's education (t = 2.158, P = 0.032) and being a nursing or PharmD student (t = 1.969, P = 0.050) were associated with knowledge about PPC. Other listed factors such as gender, working ward, and age were not associated with knowledge of PPC. CONCLUSION This was the first study in Jordan to survey a sample of nursing students and PharmD students in Jordan about their knowledge of PPC. The current study found that knowledge of nursing and PharmD students regarding PPC was satisfactory, depending on the scale used.

Abstract
Aim To describe nursing students' knowledge, attitudes and self-efficacy about palliative care and to examine the associations between these variables in China. Design A descriptive correlational study. Methods Undergraduate nursing students (N = 187) at the end of third year of education from a university were surveyed. Measurements included the Chinese versions of the Palliative Care Quiz for Nursing, the Death Attitude Profile-Revised, the Frommelt Attitude Toward Care of the Dying Scale and the Palliative Care Self-Efficacy Scale. Descriptive and correlational analyses were performed. Results Although most nursing students had favourable attitudes towards death and caring for the dying, students had low level of knowledge and self-efficacy regarding palliative care, suggesting the need for integrating palliative care education into nursing curriculum in China. Moreover, special attention should be paid to psychosocial and spiritual care teaching and preparing students to psychologically deal with the challenges in the process of patient's dying.
