Abstract
BACKGROUND Blood stasis (BS) refers to a pattern of symptoms resulting from circulatory dysfunction or stagnation in the human body. Due to its historical origin and diverse interpretations, communication between patients and doctors of traditional Korean medicine (DKMs) presents challenges. Efforts to improve patients understanding in traditional Korean medicine (TKM) have led to the development of disease-specific standard clinical practice guidelines. However, there is a limited focus on creating clinical practice guidelines or informative leaflet specifically addressing BS, which is a frequently encountered pattern of symptoms in TKM. METHODS This study aimed to bridge the gap between patients and DKMs by developing an informative leaflet focusing on BS for metabolic diseases. We assessed its appropriateness through expert advisory meetings and the Delphi process, and evaluated its clinical effectiveness. We conducted a prospective, randomized, crossover trial to compare the clinical effectiveness of using BS leaflets in TKM treatment. The hypothesis investigated whether the leaflet group would show higher scores in satisfaction of DKMs' explanations, understanding of DKMs' explanations, improving the reliability of TKM, satisfaction with treatment time, improvement in explanations compared to previous TKM experiences, and necessity of managing BS treatment, compared to the no-leaflet group. RESULTS In a study involving 40 patients (mean age: 62.3 ± 7.8 years), symptoms persisted for an average of 16.75 ± 9.3 hours daily, with a severity rating of 2.53. The leaflet group exhibited significantly higher satisfaction scores than the no-leaflet group in all aspects (all P < .0001). After confirming the absence of sequence and period effects using a linear-mixed effect model, we were able to ascertain the presence of a treatment effect, as evidenced by statistically significant higher scores across all survey items in the leaflet group compared to the no-leaflet group (all P < .0001). CONCLUSION Expert consensus on symptoms aligning with the BS pattern resulted in the development of an informative leaflet. Its utilization notably improved patient satisfaction, comprehension, and trust in TKM treatment, unaffected by temporal influences, thus demonstrating its clinical effectiveness. In summary, the BS leaflet significantly enhanced patient understanding and optimized treatment procedures.

Abstract
Paeoniae Radix Rubra (PRR) known as Chishao, in China, is the dried root of Paeonia lactiflora Pall. or Paeonia veitchii Lynch, with a history of over 2000 years in traditional Chinese medicine, is employed to clear heat, cool the blood, dispel blood stasis, and alleviate pain. Phytochemical investigations identified 264 compounds that contained monoterpenes and their glycosides, sesquiterpenes, triterpenes, steroids, flavonoids, lignans, tannins, volatile oils, and other compounds. It has been reported to have different pharmacological activities, including cardiovascular-protective, antidepressive, neuroprotective, antitumor, hepatoprotective, and anti-inflammatory effects. This study offers a comprehensive review covering ethnopharmacology, phytochemistry, pharmacological activities, therapeutic mechanism for blood stasis syndrome, and quality control of PRR. The comprehensive analysis aims to achieve a thorough understanding of its effects and serves as a foundation for future research and development.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge (SM) is an outstanding herbal medicine with various traditional effects, especially promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis. It has been widely used for centuries to treat blood stasis syndrome (BSS)-related diseases. BSS is one of the basic pathological syndromes of diseases such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in traditional East Asian medicine, which is characterized by disturbance of blood circulation. However, the bioactive components and mechanisms of SM in the treatment of BSS have not been systematically reviewed. Therefore, this article outlines the anti-BSS effects of bioactive components of SM, concentrating on the molecular mechanisms. AIM OF THE REVIEW To summarize the bioactive components of SM against BSS and highlight its potential targets and signaling pathways, hoping to provide a modern biomedical perspective to understand the efficacy of SM on enhancing blood circulation to remove blood stasis. MATERIALS AND METHODS A comprehensive literature search was performed to retrieve articles published in the last two decades on bioactive components of SM used for BSS treatment from the online electronic medical literature database (PubMed). RESULTS Phenolic acids and tanshinones in SM are the main bioactive components in the treatment of BSS, including but not limited to salvianolic acid B, tanshinone IIA, salvianolic acid A, cryptotanshinone, Danshensu, dihydrotanshinone, rosmarinic acid, protocatechuic aldehyde, and caffeic acid. They protect vascular endothelial cells by alleviating oxidative stress and inflammatory damage and regulating of NO/ET-1 levels. They also enhance anticoagulant and fibrinolytic capacity, inhibit platelet activation and aggregation, and dilate blood vessels. Moreover, lowering blood lipids and improving blood rheological properties may be the underlying mechanisms of their anti-BSS. More notably, these compounds play an anti-BSS role by mediating multiple signaling pathways such as Nrf2/HO-1, TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB, PI3K/Akt/eNOS, MAPKs (p38, ERK, and JNK), and Ca2+/K+ channels. CONCLUSIONS Both phenolic acids and tanshinones in SM may act synergistically to target different signaling pathways to achieve the effect of promoting blood circulation.

Abstract
Background and Objectives: Diabetes can cause various vascular complications. The Compounded Danshen-Dripping-Pill (CDDP) is widely used in China. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness and safety of CDDP in the blood viscosity (BV) with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Materials and Methods: We conducted a systematic search of seven databases from their inception to July 2022 for randomized controlled trials that used CDDP to treat T2DM. To evaluate BV, we measured low shear rate (LSR), high shear rate (HSR), and plasma viscosity (PV). Homocysteine and adiponectin levels were also assessed as factors that could affect BV. Results: We included 18 studies and 1532 patients with T2DM. Meta-analysis revealed that CDDP significantly reduced LSR (mean difference [MD] -2.74, 95% confidence interval [CI] -3.77 to -1.72), HSR (MD -0.86, 95% CI -1.08 to -0.63), and PV (MD -0.37, 95% CI -0.54 to -0.19) compared to controls. CDDP also reduced homocysteine (MD -8.32, 95% CI -9.05 to -7.58), and increased plasma adiponectin (MD 2.72, 95% CI 2.13 to 3.32). Adverse events were reported less frequently in the treatment groups than in controls. Conclusions: CDDP is effective in reducing BV on T2DM. However, due to the poor design and quality of the included studies, high-quality, well-designed studies are required in the future.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The objective of this review is to provide a modern definition and identify potential biomarkers of blood stasis in cardio- and cerebrovascular diseases by mapping, comparing, and combining Eastern and Western concepts. INTRODUCTION Blood stasis is a pathological concept found in both Eastern and Western medical literature. In traditional East Asian medicine, blood stasis is a differential syndrome characterized by stagnant blood flow in various parts of the body. Similarly, in Western medicine, various diseases, especially cardio- and cerebrovascular diseases, are known to be accompanied by blood stasis. Numerous scientific studies on blood stasis have been conducted over the last decade, and there is a need to synthesize those results. INCLUSION CRITERIA We will use the keywords "blood stasis," "blood stagnation," "blood stagnant," and "blood congestion" in 3 electronic databases: PubMed, Cochrane CENTRAL, and Google Scholar. In addition, we will use the keywords "어혈" and "혈어" in 4 Korean electronic databases (ie, NDSL, OASIS, KISS, and DBpia). Peer-reviewed articles published from 2010 to the present that focus on blood stasis in cardio- and cerebrovascular diseases in human subjects according to the International Classification of Diseases 11 th revision categories BA00-BE2Z, 8B00-8B2Z, 8E64, and 8E65 will be included. Reviews, opinion articles, in vivo, in vitro, and in silico preclinical studies will be excluded. METHODS We will follow the frameworks by Arksey and O'Malley and Levac et al. as well as JBI guidelines and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis extension for Scoping Reviews. Two reviewers will independently search and screen titles and abstracts followed by full-text screening of eligible studies. If there are discrepancies between the 2 reviewers, a third reviewer will be consulted to make the final decision. Abstract
Salvia Miltiorrhizae Radix (SMR) is a widely-used herbal medicine for the treatment of various blood stasis-related diseases (mainly circulatory system). It has been extensively studied in the field of pharmacology over the last few decades. In addition, several reviews concerning the effect of SMR are available. The purpose of this study was to review the pharmacological activities of SMC based on the 10th revision of the international disease classification (ICD-10). After an analysis of the literatures in the Medline database between January 1988 and August 2018, 691 eligible articles were chosen and 971 results were obtained (395 in vitro, 536 in vivo, and 40 human). The extracted data were categorized into the disease chapters of the ICD-10 and the major chapters were: IX Diseases of the circulatory system, II Neoplasms, XI Diseases of the digestive system, XIX Injury, poisoning and certain other consequences of external causes, IV Endocrine, nutritional, and metabolic diseases, VI Diseases of the nervous system, V Mental and behavioral disorders, etc. The major diseases and the pharmacological results of each chapter of the ICD-10 were described assiduously, along with the statistical details. The current study provided a comprehensive understanding and insight of SMR in terms of pharmacological activities.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Traditional East Asian Medical (TEAM) practice systems exhibit much variation. Little work has been done to study reasons for this variation. This essay explores cultural and historical explanations for how variety occurs by contrasting the use of two TEAM concepts in diagnosis in Chinese and Japanese systems. METHODS Focussing on two important concepts, xin (heart) and shen (spirit), a literature review is performed to contrast how they developed, are understood and used in diagnosis in Chinese Traditional Chinese medicine, TCM, and Japanese Meridian Therapy, MT. RESULTS While TCM texts describe many heart-related diagnoses, MT texts do not describe any. While TCM associates 'shen' with the mind and emotions coupled with associated diagnoses, MT does neither. Historical and cultural reasons for these differences are identified. CONCLUSIONS In light of these findings, important questions arise about the nature of concepts and diagnoses in TEAM practice systems. They are not objective like biomedical constructs and diagnoses, nor are they clearly articulated and studied yet according to international standards. This suggests a range of research strategies that are needed. There are valid historical and cultural reasons for the differences we see between Japanese and Chinese TEAM systems. In light of these, further research is needed to elaborate and identify critical issues that are important for education, practice and research.

Abstract
Background: Blood stasis (BS) is commonly used for pattern identification in traumatic injuries, including traffic accidents (TAs). Various studies have identified the efficacy of Korean medicine treatments for TA patients, but studies focusing on the BS-based herbal medicine (BSHM), including Tongdo-san (TDS), are rare.<br/>Methods: This was a single-center, prospective observational study, conducted from August 24th, 2018 to December 27th, 2018, which included 40 TA patients. Participants underwent routine Korean medicine treatments including acupuncture, electronic moxibustion, cupping, physical therapy, and herbal medicine. In the herbal medicine treatment, participants took BSHM with more than 3 days including taking TDS. The primary outcome measures were the scores from a 100 mm visual analogue scale (VAS) and numerical rating scale (NRS). Secondary outcome measures included scores from EuroQol-5 dimension (EQ-5D) and EQVAS questionnaires, the BS and cold/heat indices, and safety assessments.<br/>Results: There were significant improvements in the VAS, NRS, EQ-5D, EQ-VAS scores, and BS index after treatment. In the sub-analysis, VAS, NRS, EQ-5D, and EQ-VAS scores were higher in groups with a higher BS index. The moderate and severe BS index groups showed more improvement than the minor BS index group, and there was a significant difference in the EQ-5D scores. There was no significant differences observed in cold/heat index groups scores.<br/>Conclusion: BS is associated with TA-related symptoms. BSHM, including TDS, may significantly reduce BS, pain, and discomfort.

Abstract
Background Many previous papers have investigated most-cited articles or most productive authors in academics, but few have studied most-cited authors. Two challenges are faced in doing so, one of which is that some different authors will have the same name in the bibliometric data, and the second is that coauthors’ contributions are different in the article byline. No study has dealt with the matter of duplicate names in bibliometric data. Although betweenness centrality (BC) is one of the most popular degrees of density in social network analysis (SNA), few have applied the BC algorithm to interpret a network’s characteristics. A quantitative scheme must be used for calculating weighted author credits and then applying the metrics in comparison. Objective This study aimed to apply the BC algorithm to examine possible identical names in a network and report the most-cited authors for a journal related to international mobile health (mHealth) research. Methods We obtained 676 abstracts from Medline based on the keywords “JMIR mHealth and uHealth” (Journal) on June 30, 2018. The author names, countries/areas, and author-defined keywords were recorded. The BCs were then calculated for the following: (1) the most-cited authors displayed on Google Maps; (2) the geographical distribution of countries/areas for the first author; and (3) the keywords dispersed by BC and related to article topics in comparison on citation indices. Pajek software was used to yield the BC for each entity (or node). Bibliometric indices, including h-, g-, and x-indexes, the mean of core articles on g(Ag)=sum (citations on g-core/publications on g-core), and author impact factor (AIF), were applied. Results We found that the most-cited author was Sherif M Badawy (from the United States), who had published six articles on JMIR mHealth and uHealth with high bibliometric indices (h=3; AIF=8.47; x=4.68; Ag=5.26). We also found that the two countries with the highest BC were the United States and the United Kingdom and that the two keyword clusters of mHealth and telemedicine earned the highest indices in comparison to other counterparts. All visual representations were successfully displayed on Google Maps. Conclusions The most cited authors were selected using the authorship-weighted scheme (AWS), and the keywords of mHealth and telemedicine were more highly cited than other counterparts. The results on Google Maps are novel and unique as knowledge concept maps for understanding the feature of a journal. The research approaches used in this study (ie, BC and AWS) can be applied to other bibliometric analyses in the future.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Many researchers use the National Health Insurance Research Database (HIRD) to publish medical papers and gain exceptional outputs in academics. Whether they also obtain excellent citation metrics remains unclear. METHODS We searched the PubMed database (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed) using the terms Taiwan and HIRD. We then downloaded 1997 articles published from 2012 to 2016. An authorship-weighted scheme (AWS) was applied to compute coauthor partial contributions from the article bylines. Both modified x-index and author impact factor (AIF) proved complementary to Hirsch's h-index for calculating individual research achievements (IRA). The metrics from 4684 authors were collected for comparison. Three hundred eligible authors with higher x-indexes were located and displayed on Google Maps dashboards. Ten separate clusters were identified using social network analysis (SNA) to highlight the research teams. The bootstrapping method was used to examine the differences in metrics among author clusters. The Kano model was applied to classify author IRAs into 3 parts. RESULTS The most productive author was Investigator#1 (Taichung City, Taiwan), who published 149 articles in 2015 and included 803 other members in his research teams. The Kano diagram results did not support his citation metrics beyond other clusters and individuals in IRAs. CONCLUSION The AWS-based bibliometric metrics make individual weighted research evaluations possible and available for comparison. The study results of productive authors using HIRD did not support the view that higher citation metrics exist in specific disciplines.

Abstract
Blood stasis syndrome (BSS) is an important pathological condition in traditional East Asian medicine and is associated with ischemic heart disease, cerebral vascular accident, diabetes mellitus, chronic renal failure, severe traumatic injury, and dysmenorrhea. However, previous studies have been unable to reveal the clinical and biological characteristics or biological markers of BSS. We hypothesized that the heterogeneity among the manifestations of BSS or non-BSS could interfere with an analysis to describe the characteristics of BSS. In this study, male participants based on the severity of BSS-associated symptoms and signs were clustered and classified into four subgroups: BSS subgroups (1), (2), (3), and (4). Non-BSS core subgroup was redefined using manifestation cluster analysis. Biological characteristics of subgroups BSS(1) and BSS(2) belong to the range of the non-BSS core subgroup (1), whereas that of subgroups BSS(3) and BSS(4) are characterized by different biological parameters such as systemic inflammatory conditions and elevated D-dimer level. Our results suggested that patients in subgroups of BSS(3) and BSS(4) are more likely to be exposed in an inflammatory state than other BSS subgroups. We found the heterogeneity among the manifestations which could mask the characteristics of BSS and identified the clinical and biological profiles of the four BSS subgroups through comparisons of the redefined non-BSS and BSS subgroups. This finding could provide accurate diagnostic criteria and new approaches for BSS treatments in different subgroups.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Herbal medicines have the potential to be alternative treatments for metabolic diseases. This systematic review will assess the efficacy of herbal medicines in treating metabolic diseases with blood stasis. METHODS AND ANALYSIS We will search MEDLINE, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Web of Science, 2 Korean medical databases (OASIS, NDSL), a Chinese database (China National Knowledge Infrastructure, CNKI), and a Japanese database (J-STAGE) for relevant literature. We will include all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) or quasi-RCTs evaluating the effectiveness of herbal medicine. Participants of both sexes and of any age with clinically diagnosed metabolic disease with blood stasis will be included. Primary outcomes will include Blood-stasis syndrome score, TC, TG, HDL-C and LDL-C. Secondary outcomes will Blood pressure, FBS. ECG, prevalence rate of heart disease, and response rate. The risk of bias will be assessed using the Cochrane tool for assessing risk of bias. DISCUSSION The findings of this study will provide a summary of the current state of evidence regarding the effectiveness of types of herbal medicine in managing metabolic disease with blood stasis. In addition, this review will be expected to provide a base for clinical trials to confirm the efficacy of herbal medicine for treatments of metabolic disease with blood stasis. Abstract
Rhizome of Curcuma wenyujin, which is called EZhu in China, is a traditional Chinese medicine used to treat blood stasis for many years. However, the underlying mechanism of EZhu is not clear at present. In this study, plasma metabolomics combined with network pharmacology were used to elucidate the therapeutic mechanism of EZhu in blood stasis from a metabolic perspective. The results showed that 26 potential metabolite markers of acute blood stasis were screened, and the levels were all reversed to different degrees by EZhu preadministration. Metabolic pathway analysis showed that the improvement of blood stasis by Curcuma wenyujin rhizome was mainly related to lipid metabolism (linoleic acid metabolism, ether lipid metabolism, sphingolipid metabolism, glycerophospholipid metabolism, and arachidonic acid metabolism) and amino acid metabolisms (tryptophan metabolism, lysine degradation). The component-target-pathway network showed that 68 target proteins were associated with 21 chemical components in EZhu. Five metabolic pathways of the network, including linoleic acid metabolism, sphingolipid metabolism, glycerolipid metabolism, arachidonic acid metabolism, and steroid hormone biosynthesis, were consistent with plasma metabolomics results. In conclusion, plasma metabolomics combined with network pharmacology can be helpful to clarify the mechanism of EZhu in improving blood stasis and to provide a literature basis for further research on the therapeutic mechanism of EZhu in clinical practice.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Team science research includes the number of coauthors in publications. Many papers have discussed the ordering of author names and the contributions of authors to a paper. However, no paper addresses the relation between authors' research domains and personal impact factors (PIF) with the ordering of author names. We aimed to apply Gini coefficient (GC) to evaluate the author research domains associated with the PIF and the ordering of author names on academic papers. METHODS By searching the PubMed database (Pubmed.com), we used the keyword "medicine" [journal] and downloaded 10,854 articles published from 1969 to 2018. A total number of 7502 articles labeled with complete author's countries/areas were included in data analysis. We also proposed a PIF index and jointly applied social network analysis (SNA), the GC, and Google Maps to report the following data with visual representations: the trend of author collaboration in Medicine; the dominant nations and keywords in Medicine; and the author research domains in Medicine associated with the PIF and the ordering of author names on academic papers. RESULTS The trend of author collaboration in Medicine is slightly declining (= -0.06) based on the number of authors per article. The mean number of individuals listed as authors in articles is 7.5. Most first authors are from China (3649, 48.64%) and Taiwan (847, 11.29%). The median of GC (0.32) and PIF (0.74) for the middle authors are obviously less than those for the first (0.53, 2.19) and the last authors (0.42, 2.61). A perfect positive linear relation with a large effect exists between GC and PIF because the correlation coefficient is 0.68 (>0.50, t = 2.48, n = 9). CONCLUSION Results suggest that the corresponding author is submitting the manuscript to the target journal with a core author's academic background and the personal impact factor related to the research domain and the journal scope in the future. As such, peer reviewers can quickly determine whether the manuscript is a potentially citable research paper.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Blood stasis is an important pathophysiologic concept in Traditional East Asian Medicine. It has been considered to be a pathogenic factor in chronic and incurable conditions such as pain, infertility, cancer, coronary heart disease, and others. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of pain reduction by blood stasis treatment for blood stasis syndromes with traumatic injury. METHODS A single-center prospective pretest-post-test pilot study included 73 patients with a trauma that occurred within the past 2 weeks who were admitted into Jaseng Hospital of Korean Medicine from August 2015 through December 2015. Of the 50 patients analyzed in this study, 42 were women (mean age, 33.52). Triple Energizer-reinforcing Saam acupuncture set, herbal medicine (Dangkwisoo-san), and wet cupping on tender point, which are Korean medical therapies generally executed to treat post-traumatic pain, were performed. The patients had to receive at least six sessions of treatment during the 2 weeks, with subsequent treatment being performed within 3 ± 1 days after the previous treatment. Numeric rating scale (NRS) score and general pain severity indicator was measured as a primary outcome measure. The blood stasis questionnaire, oximetry, and patient's satisfaction were also measured. RESULTS The mean size of subcutaneous bleeding (width and length) and NRS score as a general pain indicator significantly decreased over the visits (all p < 0.01, visit 1 vs. visit 6). Among the blood stasis symptoms in the questionnaire, 11 blood stasis indicators significantly decreased (all p < 0.05). The patients showed significant improvement in the minimum and maximum value of peripheral perfusion index after the treatment (p = 0.011 and p = 0.15, respectively). CONCLUSIONS This study reveals that blood stasis treatment may help improve the pain of patients with traumatic injury by enhancing the peripheral blood flow. The significant results observed in this study support some evidence of the theories of diagnosing blood stasis pattern and treatments of that pattern in Korean Medicine.

Abstract
In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), blood stasis syndrome (BSS) is mainly manifested by the increase of blood viscosity, platelet adhesion rate and aggregation, and the change of microcirculation, resulting in vascular endothelial injury. It is an important factor in the development of diabetes mellitus (DM). The aim of the present study was to screen out the potential candidate microRNAs (miRNAs) in DM patients with BSS by high-throughput sequencing (HTS) and bioinformatics analysis. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were incubated with 10% human serum to establish models of DM with BSS, DM without BSS (NBS), and normal control (NC). Total RNA of each sample was extracted and sequenced by the Hiseq2000 platform. Differentially expressed miRNAs (DE-miRNAs) were screened between samples and compared with known changes in mRNA abundance. Target genes of miRNAs were predicted by softwares. Gene Ontology (GO) and pathway enrichment analysis of the target genes were conducted. According to the significantly enriched GO annotations and pathways (P-value ≤ 0.001), we selected the key miRNAs of DM with BSS. It showed that the number of DE-miRNAs in BSS was 32 compared with non-blood stasis syndrome (NBS) and NC. The potential candidate miRNAs were chosen from GO annotations in which target genes were significantly enriched (-log10 (P-value) > 5), which included miR-140-5p, miR-210, miR-362-5p, miR-590-3p, and miR-671-3p. The present study screened out the potential candidate miRNAs in DM patients with BSS by HTS and bioinformatics analysis. The miRNAs will be helpful to provide valuable suggestions on clinical studies of DM with BSS at the gene level.

Abstract
Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) occurs in 1–5% of parturients. The sustained therapy and research for RSA is expensive, which is a serious issue faced by both patients and doctors. The aim of the present study was to detect protein expression profiles in the serum of RSA patients and healthy controls, and to identify potential biomarkers for this disease. A 1,000-protein microarray consisting of a combination of Human L-507 and L-493 was used. The microarray data revealed that eight serum protein expression levels were significantly upregulated and 143 proteins were downregulated in RSA patients compared with the healthy controls. ELISA individually validated 5 of these 151 proteins in a larger cohort of patients and control samples, demonstrating a significant decrease in insulin-like growth factor-binding protein-related protein 1 (IFGBP-rp1)/IGFBP-7, Dickkopf-related protein 3 (Dkk3), receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) and angiopoietin-2 levels in patients with RSA. Sensitivity and specificity analyses were calculated by a receiver operating characteristics curve, and were revealed to be 0.881, 0.823, 0.79 and 0.814, with diagnostic cut-off points of 95.44 ng/ml for IFGBP-rp1, 32.84 ng/ml for Dkk3, 147.27 ng/ml for RAGE and 441.40 ng/ml for angiopoietin-2. The present study indicated that these four proteins were downregulated in RSA samples and may be useful as biomarkers for the prediction and diagnosis of RSA. Subsequent studies in larger-scale cohorts are required to further validate the diagnostic value of these markers.
