Abstract
Various developments have been observed in the treatment of cancer patients, such as higher survival rates and better treatment outcomes. However, expecting similar outcomes in older patients remains a challenge. The main reason for this conclusion is the exclusion of older people from clinical trials for cancer drugs, as well as other factors, such as comorbidity, side effects, age-related frailties and their willingness to undergo multiple treatments. However, the discovery of new techniques and drug combinations has led to a significant improvement in the survival of the elderly population after the onset of the disease. On the other hand, cancer treatments have not become more complex for the younger population when compared to the older population, as the younger population tends to respond well to treatment trials and their physiological conditions are stable in response to treatments. In summary, this review correlates recent cancer treatment strategies and the corresponding responses and survival outcomes of older and younger patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This review aimed to systematically summarize studies that investigated the bioactivities of compounds and extracts from Boswellia. METHODS A literature review on the pharmacological properties and phytochemicals of B. carterii was performed. The information was retrieved from secondary databases such as PubMed, Chemical Abstracts Services (SciFinder), Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect. RESULTS The various Boswellia extracts and compounds demonstrated pharmacological properties, such as anti-inflammatory, antitumour, and antioxidant activities. B. carterii exhibited a positive effect on the treatment and prevention of many ageing diseases, such as diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative diseases. CONCLUSION Here, we highlight the pharmacological properties and phytochemicals of B. carterii and propose further evidence-based research on plant-derived remedies and compounds.

To Explore the Effects of Acupuncture and Medical Treatment at Different Times on the Gastrointestinal Reaction and White Blood Cell Count of Patients with Lung Cancer Chemotherapy. Abstract
Objective To explore and analyze the effects of acupuncture and medical treatment at different times on the gastrointestinal reaction and leukocyte count of patients with lung cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Methods Select 224 lung cancer chemotherapy patients admitted to our hospital and randomly divide them into three groups: control group (n = 76), study 1 group (n = 78), and study 2 group (n = 70). The control group was treated with tropisetron hydrochloride for 30 minutes before chemotherapy. Study 1 group was given tropisetron hydrochloride and acupuncture combination therapy 30 minutes before chemotherapy. Study 2 group was given tropisetron hydrochloride treatment 30 min before chemotherapy and acupuncture treatment 30 min after chemotherapy. Collect patients' general information and compare the three groups of white blood cell count, G-CSF, GM-CSF levels, quality of life and KPS score, platelets, neutrophils, hemoglobin levels, TCM symptom scores, and the degree of digestive tract reaction. Results The data of the control group and study groups 1 and 2 are comparable in gender, age, pathological type, etc. (P > 0.05). Before treatment, the white blood cell counts of the three groups were not significantly different (P > 0.05), significantly reduced after treatment, but the difference between the groups was not statistically significant (P > 0.05). The levels of G-CSF and GM-CSF in the three groups were not substantially different before treatment (P > 0.05). The levels of G-CSF and GM-CSF were considerably lowered in all three groups, although the drop in the study group was more significant (P > 0.05) when compared to that in the control group. Before treatment, the quality of life and KPS score of the three groups were not statistically different (P > 0.05). The three groups' quality of life and KPS scores fell after treatment, with the study 1 group experiencing the greatest reduction, followed by the study 2 group and the control group. The levels of platelets, neutrophils, and hemoglobin in all three groups declined dramatically, with the most noticeable reduction in the control group, followed by study 2 and study 1. The difference between the three groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The TCM symptom scores of the three groups showed an upward trend, but compared with those of the study 1 group and study 2 group, the TCM symptom scores of the control group increased significantly and the difference between the three groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05). The effective rates of the control group, study group 1, and study group 2 were 42.11%, 82.05%, and 62.86%, respectively; compared with that of the control group, the treatment efficiency of study groups 1 and 2 was higher and the difference between the three groups was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Tropisetron hydrochloride is an effective treatment for patients with lung cancer before chemotherapy, which can effectively improve the side effects of nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, reduce the white blood cell count, and improve the quality of life of patients; it plays an important role in the improvement of prognosis.

Abstract
Background Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) has been used frequently, and its use continues to increase in lung cancer patients, despite insufficient scientific of its efficacy. To investigate this situation, we analyzed the current awareness and use of CAM in Korean lung-cancer patients. Methods This prospective survey–based study was performed at seven medical centers in South Korea between August and October 2019. The survey assessed general patient characteristics and the awareness and use of CAM. We analyzed differences in the clinical parameters of patients aware and not aware of CAM and of CAM non-users and users. Results Of the 434 patients included in this study, 68.8% responded that they were aware of CAM and 30.9% said they had experienced it. In univariate analysis, the patients aware of CAM were younger with poor performance status, had advanced-stage lung cancer, received more systemic therapy, and received concurrent chemoradiation therapy (CCRT). By multiple logistic regression, younger age, poor performance status, advanced stage, and prior CCRT were identified as independent risk factors for CAM awareness. There were no significant differences in the general characteristics and cancer-associated clinical parameters of CAM non-users and users. Conclusion Specific clinical parameters were associated with patients’ awareness of CAM, although there were no significantly different characteristics between CAM users and non-users.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is a common disease in clinical, and often recrudescent. However, sometimes Western medicine treatments such as antihistamines cannot completely control the symptoms of CSU; therefore, more effective and optimized treatments are needed. Numerous studies have confirmed that moxibustion therapy is effective in treating CSU. Given that no relevant systematic reviews and meta-analysis have been carried out, we set out to prove the effect of moxibustion therapy for CSU. METHODS This protocol will be conducted based on the PRISMA-P guidelines and comply with the recommendations of the Cochrane Collaboration Handbook for Systematic Reviews. We plan to search the subsequent databases: PubMed, Web of Science, EMBASE.com and Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang Database, Chinese Science Journal Database, and China Biomedical Literature Database. The studies will be screened under the eligibility criterion. The quality of the studies will be assessed based on the Cochrane risk bias tool. Ultimately, Review Manager 5.3 will be used for statistical analysis. RESULTS This research will comprehensively evaluate the effectiveness of moxibustion therapy for CSU, and provide a more reasonable and effective treatment plan for CUS. CONCLUSION This research will bring new evidence for the efficacy of moxibustion therapy in the treatment of CSU and provide a basis for future clinical applications.
