Abstract
Background Rosacea is a chronic skin disorder characterized by erythema, flushing, telangiectasia, papules and pustules, phymatous changes, and ocular involvement. The aim of this study was to examine all published research articles in which botulinum toxin was used to treat rosacea and to evaluate the efficacy and safety of this treatment. Methods PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science database were used to identify articles eligible for systematic review on March 26, 2021. Prospective or retrospective studies which directly used botulinum toxin to treat rosacea were included and reviewed. Results Nine studies were included in this systematic review. Two were randomized controlled trials, graded as Level 2 for the quality of evidence. The total number of participants was 130, and the number of participants in each study ranged from 1 to 25. The improvement was observed in all studies in signs and symptoms compared with baseline. Adverse events were transitory and self-limited. Conclusion Botulinum toxin could have overall satisfying efficacy and safety in the treatment of rosacea, though limited by small sample size, imperfect study design, and short follow-up visits.

Abstract
Rosacea is a common skin disease that is troublesome for both the patients and the dermatologists. Erythema, telangiectasia, papulopustular changes, and phymatous changes are the main problems faced by the patients and dermatologists in everyday practice. Due to the chronic and relapsing nature of the disease, patients are usually unsatisfied with conventional treatment methods. We report a case of a patient with rosacea, erythematotelangiectatic subtype with an eight-year history of progressive worsening and experience of combined therapy based on the broadband pulse light and topical 0.5% brimonidine tartrate gel. The effectiveness of the therapy was evaluated using multispectral skin imaging that enables to define morphological patterns of the pathological skin areas in a real-time mode as well as to create the map of hemoglobin distribution and to measure its concentration in the rosacea foci. In this case report, an efficacy and very good tolerability of the abovementioned treatment have been demonstrated.

Methods: The literature of the last 5 years has been reviewed. Results: We describe interesting protocols of BoNT treatment for hyperhidrosis (HH), hypertrophic scars and keloids, Raynaud phenomenon, facial flushing, oily skin, psoriasis, Hailey-Hailey disease, and cutaneous lesions like painful lesions and periorbital syringomas. Conclusions: Several skin conditions eligible for BoNT treatment have been described. After the wide application for HH treatment, scars as well as vascular and inflammatory skin disorders, oily skin and cutaneous lesions represent fields of application of BoNT.

Abstract
Objective To systematically review the association between migraine and rosacea. Background Migraine is a complex disorder with episodes of headache, nausea, photo- and phonophobia. Rosacea is an inflammatory skin condition with flushing, erythema, telangiectasia, papules, and pustules. Both are chronic disorders with exacerbations of symptoms almost exclusively in areas innervated by the trigeminal nerve. Previous studies found an association between these disorders. We review these findings, provide a meta-analysis, and discuss possible pathophysiological commonalities. Methods A search through PubMed and EMBASE was undertaken for studies investigating the association between all forms of migraine and rosacea published until November 2016, and meta-analysis of eligible studies. Results Nine studies on eight populations were identified. Studies differed in methodology and diagnostic process, but all investigated co-occurrence of migraine and rosacea. Four studies were eligible for meta-analysis, resulting in a pooled odds ratio of 1.96 (95% confidence interval 1.41–2.72) for migraine in a rosacea population compared to a non-rosacea population. Conclusion Our meta-analysis confirmed an association in occurrence of migraine and rosacea. Future studies should specifically investigate possible shared pathophysiological mechanisms between the two disorders.

Abstract
Rosacea (in German sometimes called 'Kupferfinne', in French 'Couperose' and in Italian 'Copparosa') is a chronic and frequently relapsing inflammatory skin disease primarily affecting the central areas of the face. Its geographic prevalence varies from 1% to 22%. The differential diagnosis is wide, and the treatment is sometimes difficult and varies by stage of rosacea. For erythematous lesions and telangiectasia, intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy and lasers are popular treatment option. In addition, a vasoconstrictor agent, brimonidine, has recently been developed. For papulopustular rosacea, topical antibiotics, topical and systemic retinoids, as well as systemic antibiotics are used. A topical acaricidal agent, ivermectin, has undergone clinical development and is now on the market. In the later stages, hyperplasia of the sebaceous glands develops, resulting in phymatous growths such as the frequently observed bulbous nose or rhinophyma. Ablative laser treatments have largely replaced classical abrasive tools. Here, we reviewed the current evidence on the treatment of rosacea, provide a guideline (S1 level) and discuss the differential diagnosis of rosacea.

Abstract
Rosacea is a chronic cutaneous inflammatory disease that affects the facial skin. Clinically, rosacea can be categorized into papulopustular, erythematotelangiectatic, ocular, and phymatous rosacea. However, the phenotypic presentations of rosacea are more heterogeneous. Although the pathophysiology of rosacea remains to be elucidated, immunologic alterations and neurovascular dysregulation are thought to have important roles in initiating and strengthening the clinical manifestations of rosacea. In this article, we present the possible molecular mechanisms of rosacea based on recent laboratory and clinical studies. We describe the genetic predisposition for rosacea along with its associated diseases, triggering factors, and suggested management options in detail based on the underlying molecular biology. Understanding the molecular pathomechanisms of rosacea will likely aid toward better comprehending its complex pathogenesis.
