Rhodomicrobium lacus sp. nov., an alkalitolerent bacterium isolated from Umiam lake, Shillong, India

Complete genome sequencing and annotation of Rhodomicrobium vannielii strain DSM166 suggest affiliation to Rhodomicrobium lacus

Rhodomicrobium vannielii is a multicellular and differentiating member of the order Hyphomicrobiales in the class Alphaproteobacteria. Here, we report the complete genome of strain DSM166 obtained by PacBio SMRT sequencing. The results suggest that this strain is closely related to Rhodomicrobium lacus.

Draft Genome Sequence of the Anoxygenic Phototrophic Bacterium Rhodomicrobium sp. Strain Az07, Isolated from a Brackish Canal

Rhodomicrobium sp. strain Az07 was isolated from a brackish canal. The organism is more halotolerant than previously described species of the genus Rhodomicrobium. The Illumina MiSeq system was used to sequence the genome of the isolated strain. The assembly contains 3,291,400 bp, 106 contigs, and a GC content of 62.7%.

Revised Draft Genome Sequences of Rhodomicrobium vannielii ATCC 17100 and Rhodomicrobium udaipurense JA643

Recent attempts to sequence regions of the Rhodomicrobium vannielii ATCC 17100 genome revealed discrepancies with the previously published genome. We report the revised draft genome sequences of the type strains Rhodomicrobium vannielii ATCC 17100 and Rhodomicrobium udaipurense JA643. These revisions will facilitate genetic studies of phototrophic metabolism in these bacteria.
