Abstract
In this study, a magnetic metal-organic framework (MOF) was synthesized based on magnetic Fe3O4, Cu(II), and benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid (Cu-BTC) as a sorbent for solid phase extraction (SPE) of trace amounts of Pb(II) in water and lettuce samples. Pb(II) ion was adsorbed on the magnetic MOF and easily separated by a magnet; therefore, no filtration or centrifugation was necessary. The analyte ions were eluted by HCl 0.5 mol·L-1 and analyzed via graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy. The prepared sorbent was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Under optimal experimental conditions, the method had a linear range of 0.1-50 μg·L-1. The limits of detection and quantitation for lead were found to be 0.026 and 0.08 μg·L-1, respectively. The results showed that the prepared sorbent has high selectivity for Pb2+ even in the presence of other interfering metal ions.

Abstract
A new preconcentration method to determine lead in environmental waters using the aminosilanized magnetite Fe3O4 powder sorbent has been developed. The preconcentration method was combined with electrothermal atomization atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) and a graphite atomizer. Trace amount of sorbent (3 mg) could be applied into the preconcentration of Pb. According the preconcentration, the detection limits were 14 and 19 pg·mL−1 with bare and aminosilanized Fe3O4, respectively. The effect of interferent elements such as Al, Ca, Co, Fe, K, Mg, Na, Ni, and Zn (1000 ng·mL−1 versus Pb 1 ng·mL−1) on the preconcentration of Pb using bare magnetite was evaluated, and some elements (Al, Ni, and Zn) were found to interfere with the Pb preconcentration. The aminosilanized Fe3O4 sorbent was found to be effective in eliminating the severe interferences. The enrichment factors were 34 for the preconcentration with aminosilanized Fe3O4. The recovery of spiked Pb in the case of the sorbent with aminosilanized Fe3O4 was in the range of 75 to 110%. From the analytical data, the preconcentration technique was found to be useful for the determination of trace lead in environmental waters.

Abstract
Solid-phase microextraction method based on stearic acid-coated magnetic nanoparticle has been combined with batch-type hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry (BT-HGAAS) system to determine cadmium at ultratrace levels. After the adsorption of cadmium ions onto stearic acid-coated magnetic nanoparticles, they were easily separated from the aqueous phase by means of a magnet. All the instrumental and experimental parameters such as pH of buffer solution, interaction period, concentration, and volume of NaBH4 were optimized. Under the optimal conditions, limit of quantification (LOQ) and limit of detection (LOD) for the solid-phase microextraction (SPME) based on stearic acid-coated magnetic nanoparticles-BT-HGAAS (SACMNP-BT-HGAAS) method were obtained as 270.8 ng/L and 81.7 ng/L, respectively. The matrix-matching calibration method was performed in order to improve the accuracy of cadmium quantification in tap water and the recovery results obtained were as follows: 88.56 ± 8.92 and 97.43 ± 9.76, for 6.0 and 8.0 ng/mL of cadmium-spiked tap water samples, respectively. Abstract
A new ion-selective cross-linked poly(vinylimidazole-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) prepared via a double-imprinting process was developed for the recognition and preconcentration of Pb(2+) from water samples. The sorbent was characterized by FT-IR, SEM, TGA and textural data. The maximum dynamic sorption capacity of Pb(2+) was 42.04 mg Pb(2+) g(-1) of the double-imprinted polymer. The sorption kinetics data were described by a pseudo-second-order model. The double-imprinted polymer exhibited a higher sorption efficiency of Pb(2+) than the blank polymer (non-imprinted polymer). The preconcentration procedure involved the loading of a Pb(2+) solution at pH 7.25 through 40.0 mg of the double-imprinted polymer packed in a mini-column at 5.0 mL min(-1). The selective efficiency of proposed method for the Pb(2+) preconcentration was assured by competitive sorption using different proportions of Pb(2+)/cations and Pb(2+)/anions. An analytical curve was obtained in the range 0.0-300.0 μg L(-1) (r=0.999) and a limit of detection of 2.46 μg L(-1) was obtained. The preconcentration factor was found to be 21, the consumptive index 0.95 mL and the concentration efficiency 5.25 min(-1). The preconcentration method was successfully applied to the Pb(2+) ions determination in different kinds of water samples with high recovery values (91.3-108.9%).
