Abstract
INTRODUCTION
This protocol describes a procedure for the dissection of larval and pupal wings from the African butterfly
Bicyclus anynana
. Dissected pupal wings can be used subsequently for in situ hybridization or for immunohistochemistry. They can also be analyzed with stereomicroscopy to study scale maturation and pigment deposition.
