Abstract
Abstract
A series of epitaxial Co/Cu(111) superlattices has been grown on Al2O3 (112̅0) substrates with a Nb(110) buffer layer by molecular-beam epitaxy. By applying profile analysis technique it was possible to determine: (1) the crystallite size, (2) the microstrains for Co and Cu of the multilayers and (3) the percentage of the hexagonal and face centred cubic structures in the Co layers. Ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) measurements at x-band frequencies are used to study in-plane magnetic properties of the investigated superlattices. A good relationship between the microstructural and the in-planemagnetic properties were obtained.
