Abstract
From experimental observations of limiting temperatures in heavy ion collisions we derive the critical temperature of infinite nuclear matter Tc=16.6+/-0.86. Theoretical model correlations between Tc, the compressibility modulus K, the effective mass m*, and the saturation density rho s are then exploited to derive the quantity (K/m*)1/2 rho -1/3 s. This quantity together with calculations employing Skyrme and Gogny interactions indicates a value of K in moderately excited nuclei that is in excellent agreement with the value determined from giant monopole resonance data.

Abstract
Pseudospin symmetry in nuclei is investigated considering the Dirac equation with a Lorentz structured Woods-Saxon potential. The isospin correlation of the energy splittings of pseudospin partners with the nuclear potential parameters is studied. We show that, in an isotopic chain, the pseudospin symmetry is better realized for neutrons than for protons. This behavior comes from balance effects among the central nuclear potential parameters. In general, we found an isospin asymmetry of the nuclear pseudospin interaction, opposed to the nuclear spin-orbit interaction which is quasi-isospin symmetric.

Abstract
Baryon and quark superfluidity in the cooling of neutron stars are investigated. Future observations will allow us to constrain combinations of the neutron or Lambda-hyperon pairing gaps and the star's mass. However, in a hybrid star with a mixed phase of hadrons and quarks, quark gaps larger than a few tenths of an MeV render quark matter virtually invisible for cooling. If the quark gap is smaller, quark superfluidity could be important, but its effects will be nearly impossible to distinguish from those of other baryonic constituents.
