Rényi information flow in the Ising model with single-spin dynamics

Superconductivity enhancement in FeSe/SrTiO3: a review from the perspective of electron-phonon coupling

Single-layer FeSe films grown on SrTiO3, with the highest superconducting transition temperature (TC) among all the iron-based superconductors, serves as an ideal platform for studying the microscopic mechanisms of high-TCsuperconductivity. The significant role of interfacial coupling has been widely recognized, while the precise nature of theTCenhancement remains open. In this review, we focus on the investigations of the interfacial coupling in FeSe/SrTiO3from the perspective of electron-phonon coupling (EPC). The main content will include an overview of the experimental measurements associated with different theoretical models and arguments about the EPC. Especially, besides the discussions of EPC based on the measurements of electronic states, we will emphasize the analyses based on phonon measurements. A uniform picture about the nature of the EPC and its relation to theTCenhancement in FeSe/SrTiO3has still not achieved, which should be the key for further studies aiming to the in-depth understanding of high-TCsuperconductivity and the discovery of new superconductors with even enhancedTC.

Analysis of dynamic Ising model by a variational approximate method: Estimation of transfer entropy

Transfer entropy is an important index for investigating the causal relationship between random variables. It is known that a phase transition can be detected by transfer entropy. In this work, I propose a method for obtaining the transfer entropy by applying the variational approximation method to a dynamic Ising model. Our method is also effective for dynamics that do not satisfy the detailed balance condition. Our method finds the transfer entropy by solving a transcendental equation. When compared with the transfer entropy obtained by Monte Carlo sampling, it was found that they qualitatively matched near the transition point; moreover, the match was obtained with good accuracy in the region deviated from the transition point.

Transfer Entropy between Communities in Complex Financial Networks

In this paper, we analyze information flows between communities of financial markets, represented as complex networks. Each community, typically corresponding to a business sector, represents a significant part of the financial market and the detection of interactions between communities is crucial in the analysis of risk spreading in the financial markets. We show that the transfer entropy provides a coherent description of information flows in and between communities, also capturing non-linear interactions. Particularly, we focus on information transfer of rare events—typically large drops which can spread in the network. These events can be analyzed by Rényi transfer entropy, which enables to accentuate particular types of events. We analyze transfer entropies between communities of the five largest financial markets and compare the information flows with the correlation network of each market. From the transfer entropy picture, we can also identify the non-linear interactions, which are typical in the case of extreme events. The strongest flows can be typically observed between specific types of business sectors—financial sectors is the most significant example.

Reconstructing positive and negative couplings in Ising spin networks by sorted local transfer entropy

We employ the sorted local transfer entropy (SLTE) to reconstruct the coupling strengths of Ising spin networks with positive and negative couplings (J_{ij}), using only the time-series data of the spins. The SLTE method is model-free in the sense that no knowledge of the underlying dynamics of the spin system is required and is applicable to a broad class of systems. Contrary to the inference of coupling from pairwise transfer entropy, our method can reliably distinguish spin pair interactions with positive and negative couplings. The method is tested for the inverse Ising problem for different J_{ij} distributions and various spin dynamics, including synchronous and asynchronous update Glauber dynamics and Kawasaki exchange dynamics. It is found that the pairwise SLTE is proportional to the pairwise coupling strength to a good extent for all cases studied. In addition, the reconstruction works well for both the equilibrium and nonequilibrium cases of the time-series data. Comparison to other inverse Ising problem approaches using mean-field equations is also discussed.
