Generating entangled atom-photon pairs from bose-einstein condensates

Quantum Field Lens Coding and Classification Algorithm to Predict Measurement Outcomes

This study develops a method to implement a quantum field lens coding and classification algorithm for two quantum double-field (QDF) system models: 1- a QDF model, and 2- a QDF lens coding model by a DF computation (DFC). This method determines entanglement entropy (EE) by implementing QDF operators in a quantum circuit. The physical link between the two system models is a quantum field lens coding algorithm (QF-LCA), which is a QF lens distance-based, implemented on real N -qubit machines. This is with the possibility to train the algorithm for making strong predictions on phase transitions as the shared objective of both models. In both system models, QDF transformations are simulated by a DFC algorithm where QDF data are collected and analyzed to represent energy states and transitions, and determine entanglement based on EE. The method gives a list of steps to simulate and optimize any thermodynamic system on macro and micro-scale observations, as presented in this article:•The implementation of QF-LCA on quantum computers with EE measurement under a QDF transformation.•Validation of QF-LCA as implemented compared to quantum Fourier transform (QFT) and its inverse, QFT - 1 .•Quantum artificial intelligence (QAI) features by classifying QDF with strong measurement outcome predictions.

Pumped-Up SU(1,1) Interferometry

Although SU(1,1) interferometry achieves Heisenberg-limited sensitivities, it suffers from one major drawback: Only those particles outcoupled from the pump mode contribute to the phase measurement. Since the number of particles outcoupled to these "side modes" is typically small, this limits the interferometer's absolute sensitivity. We propose an alternative "pumped-up" approach where all the input particles participate in the phase measurement and show how this can be implemented in spinor Bose-Einstein condensates and hybrid atom-light systems-both of which have experimentally realized SU(1,1) interferometry. We demonstrate that pumped-up schemes are capable of surpassing the shot-noise limit with respect to the total number of input particles and are never worse than conventional SU(1,1) interferometry. Finally, we show that pumped-up schemes continue to excel-both absolutely and in comparison to conventional SU(1,1) interferometry-in the presence of particle losses, poor particle-resolution detection, and noise on the relative phase difference between the two side modes. Pumped-up SU(1,1) interferometry therefore pushes the advantages of conventional SU(1,1) interferometry into the regime of high absolute sensitivity, which is a necessary condition for useful quantum-enhanced devices.

Information-recycling beam splitters for quantum enhanced atom interferometry

We propose a scheme to significantly enhance the sensitivity of atom interferometry performed with Bose-Einstein condensates. When an optical two-photon Raman transition is used to split the condensate into two modes, some information about the number of atoms in one of the modes is contained in one of the optical modes. We introduce a simple model to describe this process, and find that by processing this information in an appropriate way, the phase sensitivity of atom interferometry can be enhanced by more than a factor of 10 for realistic parameters.

Generating controllable atom-light entanglement with a Raman atom laser system

We introduce a scheme for creating continuous variable entanglement between an atomic beam and an optical field, by using squeezed light to outcouple atoms from a Bose-Einstein condensate via a Raman transition. We model the full multimode dynamics of the atom laser beam and the squeezed optical field and show that, with appropriate two-photon detuning and two-photon Rabi frequency, the transmitted light is entangled in amplitude and phase with the outcoupled atom laser beam. The degree of entanglement is controllable via changes in the two-photon Rabi frequency of the outcoupling process.

Directional "superradiant" collisions: bosonic amplification of atom pairs emitted from an elongated Bose-Einstein condensate

We study spontaneous directionality in the bosonic amplification of atom pairs emitted from an elongated Bose-Einstein condensate, an effect analogous to superradiant emission of atom-photon pairs. Using a simplified model, we make analytic predictions regarding directional effects for both atom-atom and atom-photon emission. These are confirmed by numerical mean-field simulations, demonstrating the feasibility of nearly perfect directional emission along the condensate axis. The dependence of the emission angle on the pump strength for atom-atom pairs is significantly different than for atom-photon pairs.

1/2-anyons in small atomic Bose-Einstein condensates

We discuss a way of creating, manipulating, and detecting anyons in rotating Bose-Einstein condensates consisting of a small number of atoms. By achieving a quasidegeneracy in the atomic motional states we drive the system into a 1/2-Laughlin state for fractional quantum Hall bosons. Localized 1/2-quasiholes can be created by focusing lasers at the desired positions. We show how to manipulate these quasiholes in order to probe directly their 1/2-statistics.
