Abstract
In the title Schiff base salt, C16H13N2O+·ClO4−, the pyridine ring and the naphthalene ring system are approximately co-planar [making a dihedral angle of 6.05 (12)°] and an intramolecular O—H⋯N hydrogen bond occurs between the hydroxyl and imino groups. In the crystal, the cations and anions are linked by N—H⋯O and weak C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming the supramolecular layers parallel to (100). The crystal studied was an inversion twin refined with minor component = 0.43 (13).

Abstract
The title compound, [ZnCl2(C13H20N2O2)], was first reported in the monoclinic space group P21/n [Han et al. (2010 ▶). Acta Cryst. E66, m469]. This investigation reveals a triclinic polymorph in the space group P-1 with an asymmetric unit that contains two independent molecules of the mononuclear zinc(II) complex. In each molecule, the ZnII atoms are coordinated in a bidentate fashion by the phenolate O and imine N atoms of the Schiff base ligand. Two Cl− anions complete the tetrahedral coordination in each case. The most obvious difference between the two forms is that the Zn—L (L = O, N, Cl) bond lengths in both unique molecules are longer than those found in the monoclinic polymorph, or indeed in other similar complexes. In the crystal, molecules are linked through N—H⋯O and N—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming chains along the b axis.

Abstract
The title compound, C(17)H(12)N(2)O(3), was synthesized by the reaction of 2-hy-droxy-1-naphthaldehyde with 4-nitro-benzenamine. These condense to form the Schiff base, which crystallizes in the zwitterionic form. In the structure, the keto-amino tautomer has a fairly short intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond between the 2-naphthalenone and amino groups, with electron delocalization. The mol-ecule is essentially planar, with a dihedral angle of 1.96 (3)° between the ring systems. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked via inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a layer parallel to (101).

Abstract
In the title mononuclear zinc(II) complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(14)H(20)N(2)O)]·H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom is four-coordinated by the phenolate O and imine N atoms of the Schiff base ligand and by two Cl atoms in a tetra-hedral geometry. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯Cl, O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the water mol-ecules bridge adjacent complexes into a ladder-like structure running along the c axis.
