Methyl 4-hydroxy-2-isopropyl-1,1-dioxo-2H-1,2-benzothiazine-3-carboxylate

In the crystal structure of the title mol­ecule, C₁₃H₁₅NO₅S, the S and N atoms of the thia­zine ring exihibit the maximum deviations from the least-squares plane of 0.3008 (6) and 0.3280 (7) Å, respectively. The ring therefore adopts a half chair conformation. The thia­zine ring is twisted by an angle of 13.29 (7)° with respect to the aromatic ring. The isopropyl substituent is oriented at a dihedral angle of 53.2 (12)° with respect to the thia­zine ring. An intra­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. Inter­molecular hydrogen bonding is observed in the crystal structure.

2-Chloro-4-(2-iodo-benzene-sulfonamido)-benzoic acid

In the title compound, C(13)H(9)ClINO(4)S, the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 81.04 (17)°. The disposition of the I and Cl atoms attached to the two rings is anti. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

N-(Phenyl-sulfon-yl)-l-asparagine

In the title compound, C₁₀H₁₂N₂O₅S, one of the sulfonyl O atoms is hydrogen bonded to the amido N atom of an adjacent mol­ecule. There is also a weak hydrogen-bonding inter­action between the other sulfonyl O atom and the secondary amino N atom. In addition, the amido O atom is also hydrogen bonded to a carboxyl O atom. These hydrogen-bonding inter­actions give rise to a layer structure parallel to the bc plane.

(2R)-2-Benzene-sulfonamido-2-phenyl-ethanoic acid: a new monoclinic polymorph

In the title compound, C₁₄H₁₃NO₄S, a sulfonamide derivative of phenyl glycine, the aromatic rings are inclined at a dihedral angle of 28.03 (12)°. In the crystal, O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into chains propagating in [100] and a weak C—H⋯O interaction cross-links the chains in the c-axis direction. In the previously published polymorph, the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 45.52 (18)° and the structure is stabilized by three different types of ring motif.

2-(4-Bromobenzenesulfonamido)acetic acid

The title compound, C₈H₈BrNO₄S, a halogenated sulfon­amide, was prepared by basic hydrolysis of the methyl ester. In the crystal, mol­ecules form centrosymmetric hydrogen-bonded dimers via the carboxyl groups. These dimers are further linked by N—H⋯O inter­actions involving the carbonyl O and amide H atoms, forming a ribbon-like structure propagating in [010]. These ribbons are further linked via C—H⋯O inter­actions, forming a three-dimensional network.

2-(4-Bromobenzenesulfonamido)-2-phenylacetic acid monohydrate

In the title compound, C₁₄H₁₂BrNO₄S·H₂O, the phenyl and benzene rings are inclined at a dihedral angle of 39.5 (5)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by N—H⋯O, C—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter­actions.

6-Bromo-1-methyl-1H-2,1-benzothia-zin-4(3H)-one 2,2-dioxide

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(9)H(8)BrNO(3)S, the thia-zine ring is in the twisted form. In the crystal, pairs of inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form inversion dimers with an R(2) (2)(8) ring motif. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Br and C-H⋯π inter-actions are also present.

4-(4-Bromo-benzene-sulfonamido)benzoic acid

The title compound, C₁₃H₁₀BrNO₄S, belongs to the sulfonamide class of organic compounds. The two aromatic rings are inclined at 34.30 (15)° to one another, and the carboxyl substituent lies in the plane of the benzene ring to which it is bound (maximum deviation = 0.004 Å). In the crystal structure, charactersitic carboxylic acid dimers are formed through O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These dimers are linked into rows down a by N—H⋯O inter­actions. Additional C—H⋯O contacts further stabilize the structure, and a close Br⋯Br(x, −y + 1, −z + 1) contact of 3.5199 (9) Å is also observed.

2-(3-Methyl-but-2-en-1-yl)-1,2-benziso-thia-zol-3(2H)-one 1,1-dioxide

In the title compound, C₁₂H₁₃NO₃S, a saccharin derivative, the dihedral angle between the aromatic and isothia­zole rings is 2.91 (12)°. The planar 3,3-dimethyl­allyl group [maximum deviation = 0.0086 (16) Å] is oriented at dihedral angles of 71.86 (7) and 74.35 (7)° with respect to the aromatic and isothia­zole rings, respectively. In the crystal structure, weak inter­molecular C—H⋯O inter­actions link the mol­ecules into chains along the c axis. A weak C—H⋯π inter­action is also present.

Methyl 5-bromo-2-[meth-yl(methyl-sulfon-yl)amino]benzoate

The title compound, C(10)H(12)BrNO(4)S, is an inter-mediate in the synthesis of benzothia-zine. The planar methyl ester group (maximum deviation is 0.0065 Å) is oriented at a dihedral angle of 39.09 (13)° with respect to the aromatic ring. In the crystal structure, weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers, through R(2) (2)(10) ring motifs.

(2R)-2-Benzene-sulfonamido-2-phenyl-ethanoic acid

In the title compound, C(14)H(13)NO(4)S, the dihedral angle between the aromatic ring planes is 45.52 (18)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds lead to chains of mol-ecules propagating in [100] in which the the ring motifs R(2) (1)(8), R(2) (2)(8) and R(3) (3)(11) are apparent. These polymeric chains are linked through C-H⋯O inter-actions.

5-Benzene-sulfonamido-2-chloro-benzoic acid

In the title compound, C(13)H(10)ClNO(4)S, the dihedral angle between the aromatic ring planes is 87.07 (6)° and an intra-molecular C-H⋯O inter-action occurs. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by two O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds arise from the carboxyl groups. N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the dimers into chains and short C-Cl⋯π and S-O⋯π contacts are also seen.

Methyl 2-(N-methoxycarbonylmethyl-N-methylsulfamoyl)benzoate

In the title compound, C₁₂H₁₅NO₆S, the aromatic ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 64.76 (11) and 56.42 (13)° with respect to the planar methyl ester unit and the SO₂ group, respectively. The dihedral angle between the SO₂ group and the planar methoxy­carbonyl­methyl group is 50.42 (14)°. Intra­molecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of an eight-membered ring. In the crystal structure, inter­molecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol­ecules.

2-(2-Iodobenzenesulfonamido)acetic acid

The title compound, C₈H₈INO₄S, is a halogenated sulfon­amide, a medicinally important class of organic compounds. In the crystal structure, inter­molecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the carboxylic acid groups form characteristic centrosymmetric dimers. These dimers are further linked through centrosymmetric dimeric N—H⋯O inter­actions involving the amido H atom and a sulfonyl O atom. This leads to the formation of a ribbon-like polymer structure propagating in the b direction.

2-Bromo-4-nitroaniline

In the mol­ecule of the title compound, C₆H₅BrN₂O₂, the dihedral angle between the nitro group and the aromatic ring is 4.57 (4)°. An intra­molecular N—H⋯Br inter­action results in the formation of a planar five-membered ring, which is oriented with respect to the aromatic ring at a dihedral angle of 1.64 (6)°. In the crystal structure, inter­molecular N—H⋯N and N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol­ecules.

4-Amino-3-bromo-benzoic acid

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C₇H₆BrNO₂, consists of two mol­ecules having a small variation of bond lengths and angles. The title compound forms dimers through pairs of O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the carboxyl­ate groups. The dimers are linked into polymeric forms through inter­molecular hydrogen bonds, forming R₂¹(6), R₃²(8) and R₃³(15) ring motifs.

4-Chloro-1-iodo-2-nitro-benzene

In the mol­ecule of the title compound, C₆H₃ClINO₂, the nitro group is disordered over two sites with occupancies of 0.506 (6) and 0.494 (6). The dihedral angles between the benzene ring and the two disordered components of the nitro group are 29.0 (2) and 51.0 (3)°. The disordering avoids short O⋯O inter­molecular contacts in the crystal.

3,3-Dichloro-1-ethyl-1H-2,1-benzothia-zin-4(3H)-one 2,2-dioxide

In the title compound, C₁₀H₉Cl₂NO₃S, the S atom, which is a component atom of a heterocyclic ring, shows tetra­hedral coordination. The heterocyclic ring is not planar.

6-Bromo-1-ethyl-1H-2,1-benzothia-zin-4(3H)-one 2,2-dioxide

In the title compound, C₁₀H₁₀BrNO₃S, the S atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra­hedral configuration with nearly equal S=O bond distances; the S—C and S—N bond lengths are 1.755 (3) and 1.649 (3) Å, respectively. The heterocyclic thia­zine ring adopts a twist conformation. Adjacent mol­ecules are attached to each other through inter­molecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming R₂²(8) and R₂²(14) ring motifs. The mol­ecules are stabilized by intra- and inter­molecular hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional polymeric network.

Methyl (4-bromo-benzene-sulfonamido)acetate

The title compound, C₉H₁₀BrNO₄S, is an inter­mediate for the formation of benzothia­zines. In the crystal structure, inter­molecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol­ecules, forming R₂²(10) ring motifs, which are linked into a two-dimensional polymeric sheet through inter­molecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
