Abstract
Hydrogen bonding plays an important role in the design of solid-state structures and gels with desirable properties. 1-(4-Hydroxybenzyl)-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-5,6-dimethyl-1H-benzimidazole was isolated as the acetone disolvate, C22H20N2O2·2C3H6O. O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding between benz-imidazole mol-ecules results in chains parallel to [010]. One of the acetone solvate mol-ecules participates in O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding with the benzimidazole derivative. C-H⋯π inter-actions are observed in the extended structure. Hirshfeld surface analysis was used to explore the inter-molecular inter-actions and density functional theory was used to estimate the strength of the hydrogen bonds.

Abstract
In the title compound, C21H17N3O, the imidazole ring is essentially planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.009 (1) Å. The molecule is disordered over two sites corresponding to a rotation of approximately 180° with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.9180 (14):0.0820 (14). The central pyrimidine ring makes dihedral angles of 5.02 (5), 3.97 (5) and 6.28 (5)°, respectively, with the planes of the imidazole and the terminal phenyl rings for the major component; the values for the minor component are 5.8 (7), 5.0 (6) and 8.5 (6)°, respectively. Part of the observed planarity is accounted for in terms of an intramolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, molecules of the major component are connected by O—H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming supramolecular chains along the c axis.

Abstract
In the title mononuclear complex, [Zn(C(21)H(16)N(3)O)Cl], the Zn(II) ion is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two benzimidazole N atoms and one phenolate O atom from the tridentate Schiff base ligand and a chloride ligand. The benzimidazole ring system forms dihedral angles of 26.68 (9) and 56.16 (9)° with the adjacent benzene ring and the methyl-phenolate group benzene ring, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds into chains along [100]. Furthermore, weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions, in addition to π-π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.5826 (13)-3.9681 (13) Å, are also observed.

Abstract
In the title compound, C(22)H(21)ClN(4)O(2)·2H(2)O, the almost-planar benzimidazole ring system [maximum deviation 0.014 (1) Å] is inclined at angles of 36.32 (5) and 74.75 (7)° with respect to the phenyl and imidazole rings, respectively. In the crystal structure, the water mol-ecules are linked to the organic mol-ecules to form a three-dimensional network via O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The packing is further consolidated by a pair of bifurcated C-H⋯O bonds, generating R(1) (2)(6) loops. C-H⋯π inter-actions are also observed.

Abstract
In the title quinazoline derivative, C(21)H(17)N(3)O(2), the benzimidazole unit makes dihedral angles of 8.29 (5) and 81.79 (5)° with the benzene rings of the quinazoline and meth-oxy-phenol units, respectively. The nitro-gen-containing six-membered ring adopts a half-chair conformation. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked through O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds into screw chains along the b axis; adjacent chains are further connected by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, thereby forming a two-dimensional network lying parallel to the bc plane. Weak C-H⋯π and π⋯π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.5258 (8) and 3.7184 (7) Å are present and N⋯O [2.6816 (15) and 3.0519 (15) Å] short contacts also occur.

Abstract
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C20H15N3O, contains two independent molecules, each of which is disordered over two sets of sites corresponding to a rotation of approximately 180° of the dihydrobenzimidazoquinazoline moiety, with refined site occupancies of 0.7479 (13) and 0.2521 (12) for both molecules. Abstract
In the title solvated benzimidazole compound, C20H15N3O2·C2H6OS, both the benzimidazole fused-ring system and the complete dimethyl sulfoxide solvent molecule are disordered over two sets of sites, in 0.750 (5):0.250 (5) and 0.882 (4):0.118 (4) ratios, respectively. The conformation of the pyrimidine ring is close to a half-chair for the major disorder component, whereas for the minor component it is close to a boat. The dihydroxyphenyl ring is almost perpendicular to the mean plane of the benzimidazole ring [dihedral angle = 87.3 (2)° for the major disorder component and 88.3 (5)° for the minor disorder component]. In the crystal, molecules are linked into layers parallel to (110) by O—H⋯N and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. A bifurcated O—H⋯(O,S) bond links the benzimidazole and solvent molecules.

Abstract
In the title compound, C8H7N3O2·H2O, the 2-methyl-5-nitro-1H-benzimidazole molecule, excluding the methyl H atoms, is approximately planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.137 (1) Å. The crystal structure is stabilized by water molecules via N—H⋯O(water), O(water)—H⋯O and O(water)—H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming sheets parallel to the (100) plane. A short intermolecular contact between the benzene and imidazole rings, with a centroid–centroid distance of 3.6419 (10) Å, indicates a π–π interaction.

Abstract
In the title compound, C13H9Br2N3O, the molecular skeleton, influenced by an intramolecular O—H⋯N hydrogen bond, is roughly planar, with a mean deviation of 0.033 Å.
