A fivefold interpenetrating diamondoid three-dimensional metal-organic framework constructed from benzene-1,4-diacetic acid and flexible triazole derivatives: poly[[(μ2-benzene-1,4-diacetato-κ2O:O){μ2-1,4-bis[(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)methyl]benzene-κ2N4:N4'}zinc(II)] monohydrate]

A new three-dimensional cadmium(II) coordination polymer based on bis[4-(2-methylimidazol-1-yl)phenyl]methanone: synthesis, structure and properties

A novel three-dimensional CdII coordination polymer, namely, poly[[(μ3-benzene-1,4-diacetato)(μ2-benzene-1,4-diacetato)bis{μ2-bis[4-(2-methylimidazol-1-yl)phenyl]methanone}dicadmium(II)] tetartohydrate], {[Cd(C10H8O4)(C21H18N4O)]·0.25H2O} n or {[Cd(PBEA)(MIPMO)]·0.25H2O} n , (I), was synthesized by the hydrothermal method using benzene-1,4-diacetic acid (H2PBEA), bis[4-(2-methylimidazol-1-yl)phenyl]methanone (MIPMO) and Cd(NO3)2·6H2O. The title compound was structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis, and exhibits a three-dimensional pillar–layer framework based on CdII–PBEA layers and MIPMO pillars, which can be simplified into a pcu topological network. The title compound displays a highly selective and sensitive sensing for Fe3+ ions in aqueous solution. In addition, it displays a high photocatalytic activity for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) in water under UV light irradiation.

Hydrothermal synthesis, crystal structure and photoluminescence of two homochiral zinc(II) coordination polymers

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have potentially useful applications and an intriguing variety of architectures and topologies. Two homochiral coordination polymers have been synthesized by the hydrothermal method, namely poly[(μ-N-benzyl-L-phenylalaninato-κ(4)O,O':O,N)(μ-formato-κ(2)O:O')zinc(II)], [Zn(C16H16NO2)(HCOO)]n, (1), and poly[(μ-N-benzyl-L-leucinato-κ(4)O,O':O,N)(μ-formato-κ(2)O:O')zinc(II)], [Zn(C13H18NO2)(HCOO)]n, (2), and studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analyses, IR spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy. Compounds (1) and (2) each have a two-dimensional layer structure, with the benzyl or isobutyl groups of the ligands directed towards the interlayer interface. Photoluminescence investigations show that both (1) and (2) display a strong emission in the blue region.

Cd(II) and Co(II) coordination polymers constructed from benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid and 2-(pyridin-3-yl)-1H-benzimidazole ligands

In poly[aqua(μ3-benzene-1,4-dicarboxylato-κ(5)O(1),O(1'):O(1):O(4),O(4'))[2-(pyridin-3-yl-κN)-1H-benzimidazole]cadmium(II)], [Cd(C8H4O4)(C12H9N3)(H2O)]n, (I), each Cd(II) ion is seven-coordinated by the pyridine N atom from a 2-(pyridin-3-yl)benzimidazole (3-PyBIm) ligand, five O atoms from three benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate (1,4-bdc) ligands and one O atom from a coordinated water molecule. The complex forms an extended two-dimensional carboxylate layer structure, which is further extended into a three-dimensional network by hydrogen-bonding interactions. In catena-poly[[diaquabis[2-(pyridin-3-yl-κN)-1H-benzimidazole]cobalt(II)]-μ2-benzene-1,4-dicarboxylato-κ(2)O(1):O(4)], [Co(C8H4O4)(C12H9N3)2(H2O)2]n, (II), each Co(II) ion is six-coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two 3-PyBIm ligands, two O atoms from two 1,4-bdc ligands and two O atoms from two coordinated water molecules. The complex forms a one-dimensional chain-like coordination polymer and is further assembled by hydrogen-bonding interactions to form a three-dimensional network.
