Sustainable circular supplier selection and evaluation in the manufacturing sector using Pythagorean fuzzy EDAS approach

Sustainable supplier selection based on VIKOR with single-valued neutrosophic sets

Considering economic, environmental, and social issues, the sustainability of the supply chain has drawn considerable attention due to societal and environmental changes within the supply chain network. The strategic study of the entire supply chain process and maximizing an organization's competitive advantage depend heavily on supplier selection based on sustainable indicators. Selecting sustainable suppliers for the supply chain is challenging since it is a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem with significant uncertainty in the decision-making process. This study uses the VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) technique and single-valued neutrosophic sets (SVNS) to deal with the challenge of choosing a sustainable supplier with insufficient information. This method reduces the influence of personal experience and preference on the final evaluation results and the problem of excessive individual regret caused by factor correlation and improves the consistency of evaluation results. Finally, the method's success and adaptability are demonstrated by sensitivity analysis and additional comparison analysis, and the benefits and drawbacks of the suggested framework are examined. Compared to other approaches, it can assist decision-makers in communicating fuzzy and uncertain information, offering a perspective and approach for MCDM in the face of such situations, and helping them select suppliers of high caliber and who practice sustainable business practices.

Additive manufacturing process selection for automotive industry using Pythagorean fuzzy CRITIC EDAS

For many different types of businesses, additive manufacturing has great potential for new product and process development in many different types of businesses including automotive industry. On the other hand, there are a variety of additive manufacturing alternatives available today, each with its own unique characteristics, and selecting the most suitable one has become a necessity for relevant bodies. The evaluation of additive manufacturing alternatives can be viewed as an uncertain multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem due to the potential number of criteria and candidates as well as the inherent subjectivity of various decision-experts engaging in the process. Pythagorean fuzzy sets are an extension of intuitionistic fuzzy sets that are effective in handling ambiguity and uncertainty in decision-making. This study offers an integrated fuzzy MCDM approach based on Pythagorean fuzzy sets for assessing additive manufacturing alternatives for the automotive industry. Objective significance levels of criteria are determined using the Criteria Importance Through Inter-criteria Correlation (CRITIC) technique, and additive manufacturing alternatives are prioritized using the Evaluation based on Distance from Average Solution (EDAS) method. A sensitivity analysis is performed to examine the variations against varying criterion and decision-maker weights. Moreover, a comparative analysis is conducted to validate the acquired findings.

Sustainable Circular Supplier Selection in the Power Battery Industry Using a Linguistic T-Spherical Fuzzy MAGDM Model Based on the Improved ARAS Method

In the power battery industry, the selection of an appropriate sustainable recycling supplier (SCS) is a significant topic in circular supply chain management. Evaluating and selecting a SCS for spent power batteries is considered a complex multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) problem closely related to the environment, economy, and society. The linguistic T-spherical fuzzy (Lt-SF) set (Lt-SFS) is a combination of a linguistic term set and a T-spherical fuzzy set (T-SFS), which can accurately describe vague cognition of human and uncertain environments. Therefore, this article proposes a group decision-making methodology for a SCS selection based on the improved additive ratio assessment (ARAS) in the Lt-SFS context. This paper extends the Lt-SF generalized distance measure and defines the Lt-SF similarity measure. The Lt-SF Heronian mean (Lt-SFHM) operator and its weighted form (i.e., Lt-SFWHM) were developed. Subsequently, a new Lt-SF MAGDM model was constructed by integrating the LT-SFWHM operator, generalized distance measure, and ARAS method. In it, the expert weight on the attribute was determined based on the similarity measure, using the generalized distance measure to obtain the objective attribute weight and then the combined attribute weight. Finally, a real case of SCS selection in the power battery industry is presented for demonstration. The effectiveness and practicability of this method were verified through a sensitivity analysis and a comparative study with the existing methods.

Selection of battery suppliers for new energy vehicles by an integrated model based on D numbers

In order to cope with increasingly severe environmental problems, the development of new energy vehicles has been strongly supported. The rapid development of new energy vehicles has led to the development of power batteries. It is vital to choose the appropriate new energy vehicle battery which is the power source of the new energy vehicles. This paper proposes a new model based on D numbers, which combines the Best-worst method (BWM) and Evaluation based on Distance from Average Solution (EDAS) method. First, in order to express the uncertainty of expert decision-making, this paper uses D number to describe the evaluation information. Then the D-BWM model is applied to determine the weight of the given criteria. Next, the D-EDAS model is constructed for the selection of new energy vehicle battery suppliers. The results show that this newly proposed model is reasonable. Finally, the validity and robustness of the model in this paper are demonstrated through sensitivity analysis.
