Tree hierarchical deep convolutional neural network optimized with sheep flock optimization algorithm for sentiment classification of Twitter data

The increasing volume of online reviews and tweets poses significant challenges for sentiment classification because of the difficulty in obtaining annotated training data. This paper aims to enhance sentiment classification of Twitter data by developing a robust model that improves classification accuracy and computational efficiency. The proposed method named Tree Hierarchical Deep Convolutional Neural Network optimized with Sheep Flock Optimization Algorithm for Sentiment Classification of Twitter Data (SCTD-THDCNN-SFOA) utilizes the Stanford Sentiment Treebank dataset. The process begins with pre-processing steps including Tokenization, Stop words Elimination, Filtering, Hashtag Removal, and Multiword Grouping. The Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix Window Adaptive Algorithm is employed to extract features, such as emoticon counts, punctuation counts, gazetteer word existence, n-grams, and part of speech tags. These features are selected using Entropy-Kurtosis-based Feature Selection approach. Finally, the Tree Hierarchical Deep Convolutional Neural Network enhanced by the Sheep Flock Optimization Algorithm is used to categorize the Twitter data as positive, negative, and neutral sentiments. The proposed SCTD-THDCNN-SFOA method demonstrates superior performance, achieving higher accuracy and lesser computation time than the existing models, respectively. The SCTD-THDCNN-SFOA framework significantly improves the accuracy and efficiency of sentiment classification for Twitter data.

A Context-Focused Attention Evolution Model for Aspect-Based Sentiment Classification

Due to their inherent capability in the semantic alignment of aspects and their context words, Attention and Long-Short-Term-Memory (LSTM) mechanisms are widely adopted for Aspect-Based Sentiment Classification (ABSC) tasks. Instead, it is challenging to handle long-range word dependencies on multiple entities due to the deficiency in attention mechanisms. To solve this problem, we propose an Context-Focused Aspect-Based Network, namely CFAB, in order to align attention before LSTM, making the model focus more on aspect-related words and ignore irrelevant words, improving the accuracy of final classification. This can either alleviate attention distraction or reinforce the text representation ability. Experiments on two benchmark datasets show that the results achieve respectable performance compared to the state-of-the-art methods available in ABSC. Our approach has the potential to improve classification accuracy by adaptively adjusting the focus on context.

Managing and Retrieving Bilingual Documents Using Artificial Intelligence-Based Ontological Framework

In recent times, artificial intelligence (AI) methods have been applied in document and content management to make decisions and improve the organization's functionalities. However, the lack of semantics and restricted metadata hinders the current document management technique from achieving a better outcome. E-Government activities demand a sophisticated approach to handle a large corpus of data and produce valuable insights. There is a lack of methods to manage and retrieve bilingual (Arabic and English) documents. Therefore, the study aims to develop an ontology-based AI framework for managing documents. A testbed is employed to simulate the existing and proposed framework for the performance evaluation. Initially, a data extraction methodology is utilized to extract Arabic and English content from 77 documents. Researchers developed a bilingual dictionary to teach the proposed information retrieval technique. A classifier based on the Naïve Bayes approach is designed to identify the documents' relations. Finally, a ranking approach based on link analysis is used for ranking the documents according to the users' queries. The benchmark evaluation metrics are applied to measure the performance of the proposed ontological framework. The findings suggest that the proposed framework offers supreme results and outperforms the existing framework.

Optimal Query Expansion Based on Hybrid Group Mean Enhanced Chimp Optimization Using Iterative Deep Learning

The internet is surrounded by uncertain information which necessitates the usage of natural language processing and soft computing techniques to extract the relevant documents. The relevant results are retrieved using the query expansion technique which is mainly formulated using the machine learning or deep learning concepts in the existing literature. This paper presents a hybrid group mean-based optimizer-enhanced chimp optimization (GMBO-ECO) algorithm for pseudo-relevance-based query expansion, whereby the actual queries are expanded with their related keywords. The hybrid GMBO-ECO algorithm mainly expands the query based on the terms that have a strong interrelationship with the actual query. To generate the word embeddings, a Word2Vec paradigm is used which learns the word association from large text corpora. The useful context in the text is identified using the improved iterative deep learning framework which determines the user’s intent for the current web search. This step reduces the mismatch of the words and improves the performance of query retrieval. The weak terms are eliminated and the candidate query terms for optimal query expansion are improved via an Okapi measure and cosine similarity techniques. The proposed methodology has been compared to the state-of-the-art methods with and without a query expansion approach. Moreover, the proposed optimal query expansion technique has shown a substantial improvement in terms of a normalized discounted cumulative gain of 0.87, a mean average precision of 0.35, and a mean reciprocal rank of 0.95. The experimental results show the efficiency of the proposed methodology in retrieving the appropriate response for information retrieval. The most common applications for the proposed method are search engines.

Landfill Site Selection for Medical Waste Using an Integrated SWARA-WASPAS Framework Based on Spherical Fuzzy Set

Selecting suitable locations for the disposal of medical waste is a serious matter. This study aims to propose a novel approach to selecting the optimal landfill for medical waste using Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods. For better considerations of the uncertainty in choosing the optimal landfill, the MCDM methods are extended by spherical fuzzy sets (SFS). The identified criteria affecting the selection of the optimal location for landfilling medical waste include three categories; environmental, economic, and social. Moreover, the weights of the 13 criteria were computed by Spherical Fuzzy Step-Wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SFSWARA). In the next step, the alternatives were analyzed and ranked using Spherical Fuzzy Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (SFWASPAS). Finally, in order to show the accuracy and validity of the results, the proposed approach was compared with the IF-SWARA-WASPAS method. Examination of the results showed that in the IF environment the ranking is not complete, and the results of the proposed method are more reliable. Furthermore, ten scenarios were created by changing the weight of the criteria, and the results were compared with the proposed method. The overall results were similar to the SF-SWARA-WASPAS method.

A Tweet Sentiment Classification Approach Using a Hybrid Stacked Ensemble Technique

With the extensive availability of social media platforms, Twitter has become a significant tool for the acquisition of peoples’ views, opinions, attitudes, and emotions towards certain entities. Within this frame of reference, sentiment analysis of tweets has become one of the most fascinating research areas in the field of natural language processing. A variety of techniques have been devised for sentiment analysis, but there is still room for improvement where the accuracy and efficacy of the system are concerned. This study proposes a novel approach that exploits the advantages of the lexical dictionary, machine learning, and deep learning classifiers. We classified the tweets based on the sentiments extracted by TextBlob using a stacked ensemble of three long short-term memory (LSTM) as base classifiers and logistic regression (LR) as a meta classifier. The proposed model proved to be effective and time-saving since it does not require feature extraction, as LSTM extracts features without any human intervention. We also compared our proposed approach with conventional machine learning models such as logistic regression, AdaBoost, and random forest. We also included state-of-the-art deep learning models in comparison with the proposed model. Experiments were conducted on the sentiment140 dataset and were evaluated in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 Score. Empirical results showed that our proposed approach manifested state-of-the-art results by achieving an accuracy score of 99%.
