Dynamic Intermittent Feedback Design for H∞ Containment Control on a Directed Graph

Adaptive Output Containment Tracking Control for Heterogeneous Wide-Area Networks with Aperiodic Intermittent Communication and Uncertain Leaders

This paper proposes an adaptive distributed hybrid control approach to investigate the output containment tracking problem of heterogeneous wide-area networks with intermittent communication. First, a clustered network is modeled for a wide-area scenario. An aperiodic intermittent communication mechanism is exerted on the clusters such that clusters only communicate through leaders. Second, in order to remove the assumption that each follower must know the system matrix of the leaders and achieve output containment, a distributed adaptive hybrid control strategy is proposed for each agent under the internal model and adaptive estimation mechanism. Third, sufficient conditions based on average dwell-time are provided for the output containment achievement using a Lyapunov function method, from which the exponential stability of the closed-loop system is analyzed. Finally, simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive distributed intermittent control strategy.

Fully Distributed Event-Driven Adaptive Consensus of Unknown Linear Systems

This article considers the consensus problem of unknown linear multiagent systems (MASs) through adaptive event-driven control in leader-follower and leaderless networks. The proposed event-driven algorithms do not involve any global information related to the network communication structure and rely only on local information exchange to achieve consensus on MASs and are therefore fully distributed. Furthermore, the constraint of continuous communication among the agents is eliminated in terms of control law updates and triggering state monitoring. Another desirable aspect of this article is that the design process of the control algorithms is independent of the parameters of each agent's dynamics and thus does not require precise information about the dynamics of MASs. We further exclude the Zeno behavior of each agent by proving the existence of a strict positive lower bound between any two adjacent events. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive event-driven algorithms is verified by a simulation example.

A subgradient-based neurodynamic algorithm to constrained nonsmooth nonconvex interval-valued optimization

In this paper, a subgradient-based neurodynamic algorithm is presented to solve the nonsmooth nonconvex interval-valued optimization problem with both partial order and linear equality constraints, where the interval-valued objective function is nonconvex, and interval-valued partial order constraint functions are convex. The designed neurodynamic system is constructed by a differential inclusion with upper semicontinuous right-hand side, whose calculation load is reduced by relieving penalty parameters estimation and complex matrix inversion. Based on nonsmooth analysis and the extension theorem of the solution of differential inclusion, it is obtained that the global existence and boundedness of state solution of neurodynamic system, as well as the asymptotic convergence of state solution to the feasible region and the set of LU-critical points of interval-valued nonconvex optimization problem. Several numerical experiments and the applications to emergency supplies distribution and nondeterministic fractional continuous static games are solved to illustrate the applicability of the proposed neurodynamic algorithm.

Event-Triggered ADP for Tracking Control of Partially Unknown Constrained Uncertain Systems

An event-triggered adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) algorithm is developed in this article to solve the tracking control problem for partially unknown constrained uncertain systems. First, an augmented system is constructed, and the solution of the optimal tracking control problem of the uncertain system is transformed into an optimal regulation of the nominal augmented system with a discounted value function. The integral reinforcement learning is employed to avoid the requirement of augmented drift dynamics. Second, the event-triggered ADP is adopted for its implementation, where the learning of neural network weights not only relaxes the initial admissible control but also executes only when the predefined execution rule is violated. Third, the tracking error and the weight estimation error prove to be uniformly ultimately bounded, and the existence of a lower bound for the interexecution times is analyzed. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the present event-triggered ADP method.

Singularity-Free Fixed-Time Adaptive Control with Dynamic Surface for Strict-Feedback Nonlinear Systems with Input Hysteresis

An adaptive fixed-time dynamic surface tracking control scheme is developed in this paper for a class of strict-feedback nonlinear systems, where the control input is subject to hysteresis dynamics. To deal with the input hysteresis, a compensation filter is introduced, reducing the difficulty of design and analysis. Based on the universal approximation theory, the radial basis function neural networks are employed to approximate the unknown functions in the nonlinear dynamics. On this basis, fixed-time adaptive laws are constructed to approximate the unknown parameters. The dynamic surface technique is utilized to handle the complexity explosion problem, where fixed-time performance is ensured. Moreover, the designed controller can avoid singularities and achieve fixed-time convergence of error signals. Simulation results verify the efficacy of the method developed, where a comparison between the scheme developed with existing results is provided.

Necessary and Sufficient Conditions of Formation-Containment Control of High-Order Multiagent Systems With Observer-Type Protocols

The analysis and design problems of formation-containment control for high-order linear time-invariant (LTI) multiagent systems (MASs) on directed graphs with observer-based output-feedback protocols are given in this work. To expand the feasibility of state formation configuration, two well-structured compensation signals are introduced for the leaders and followers in the protocols, respectively. Benefitting from the compensation signal of followers, the decoupling between formation control of leaders and containment control of followers is achieved. Thus, a necessary and sufficient condition is first established such that the formation-containment control for high-order LTI MASs can be achieved. Moreover, a heuristic iterative algorithm is developed to compute the controller gains, observer gains, as well as the compensation signals. Finally, two numerical examples are implemented to illustrate the time-varying formation-containment control of high-order MASs, which shows the validity and practicability of the theoretical results and algorithm.
