Event-Based Dissipative Filtering of Markovian Jump Neural Networks Subject to Incomplete Measurements and Stochastic Cyber-Attacks

Observer-based state estimation for discrete-time semi-Markovian jump neural networks with round-robin protocol against cyber attacks

This paper investigates an observer-based state estimation issue for discrete-time semi-Markovian jump neural networks with Round-Robin protocol and cyber attacks. In order to avoid the network congestion and save the communication resources, the Round-Robin protocol is used to schedule the data transmissions over the networks. Specifically, the cyber attacks are modeled as a set of random variables satisfying the Bernoulli distribution. On the basis of the Lyapunov functional and the discrete Wirtinger-based inequality technique, some sufficient conditions are established to guarantee the dissipativity performance and mean square exponential stability of the argument system. In order to compute the estimator gain parameters, a linear matrix inequality approach is utilized. Finally, two illustrative examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed state estimation algorithm.

Event-Triggered Control for Markov Jump Systems Subject to Mismatched Modes and Strict Dissipativity

In order to save network resources of discrete-time Markov jump systems, an event-triggered control framework is employed in this article. The threshold parameter in the event-triggered mechanism is designed as a diagonal matrix in which all elements can be adjusted according to system performance requirements. The hidden Markov model is introduced to characterize the asynchronization between the controller and controlled system. The effect of randomly occurring gain fluctuations is taken into account during the controller design. For the purpose of guaranteeing that the closed-loop system is stochastically stable and satisfies the strictly (D₁,D₂,D₃)-γ- dissipative performance, sufficient conditions are constructed by employing the Lyapunov function and stochastic analysis. After linearization, the proposed controller gains are obtained by solving the linear matrix inequalities. Ultimately, a practical example of the dc motor device is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed new design technique.

Adaptive Neural State Estimation of Markov Jump Systems Under Scheduling Protocols and Probabilistic Deception Attacks

The neural-network (NN)-based state estimation issue of Markov jump systems (MJSs) subject to communication protocols and deception attacks is addressed in this article. For relieving communication burden and preventing possible data collisions, two types of scheduling protocols, namely: 1) the Round-Robin (RR) protocol and 2) weighted try-once-discard (WTOD) protocol, are applied, respectively, to coordinate the transmission sequence. In addition, considering that the communication channel may suffer from mode-dependent probabilistic deception attacks, a hidden Markov-like model is proposed to characterize the relationship between the malicious signal and system mode. Then, a novel adaptive neural state estimator is presented to reconstruct the system states. By taking the influence of deception attacks into performance analysis, sufficient conditions under two different scheduling protocols are derived, respectively, so as to ensure the ultimately boundedness of the estimate error. In the end, simulation results testify the correctness of the adaptive neural estimator design method proposed in this article.

Security-Based Passivity Analysis of Markov Jump Systems via Asynchronous Triggering Control

This article considers the security-based passivity problem for a class of discrete-time Markov jump systems in the presence of deception attacks, where the deception attacks aim to change the transmitted signal. Considering the impact of deception attacks on network disruption, it causes the existence of time-varying delays in signal transmission inevitably, which makes the controlled system and the controller work asynchronously. The asynchronous control method is employed to overcome the nonsynchronous phenomenon between the system mode and controller mode. On the other hand, to reduce the frequency of data transmission, a resilient asynchronous event-triggered control scheme taking deception attacks into account is designed to save communication resources, and the proposed controller can cover some existing ones as special examples. Moreover, different triggering conditions corresponding to different jumping modes are developed to decide whether state signals should be transferred. A new stability criterion is derived to ensure the passivity of the resultant system although there exist deception attacks. Finally, a simulation example is given to verify the theoretical analysis.
