Remote Estimator Design for Time-Delay Neural Networks Using Communication State Information

Generalized norm for existence, uniqueness and stability of Hopfield neural networks with discrete and distributed delays

In this paper, the existence, uniqueness and stability criteria of solutions for Hopfield neural networks with discrete and distributed delays (DDD HNNs) are investigated by the definitions of three kinds of generalized norm (ξ-norm). A general DDD HNN model is firstly introduced, where the discrete delays τ_pq(t) are asynchronous time-varying delays. Then, {ξ,1}-norm, {ξ,2}-norm and {ξ,∞}-norm are successively used to derive the existence, uniqueness and stability criteria of solutions for the DDD HNNs. In the proof of theorems, special functions and assumptions are given to deal with discrete and distributed delays. Furthermore, a corollary is concluded for the existence and stability criteria of solutions. The methods given in this paper can also be used to study the synchronization and μ-stability of different DDD NNs. Finally, two numerical examples and their simulation figures are given to illustrate the effectiveness of these results.

Multiple ψ -Type Stability of Cohen-Grossberg Neural Networks With Both Time-Varying Discrete Delays and Distributed Delays

In this paper, multiple ψ -type stability of Cohen-Grossberg neural networks (CGNNs) with both time-varying discrete delays and distributed delays is investigated. By utilizing ψ -type functions combined with a new ψ -type integral inequality for treating distributed delay terms, some sufficient conditions are obtained to ensure that multiple equilibrium points are ψ -type stable for CGNNs with discrete and distributed delays, where the distributed delays include bounded and unbounded delays. These conditions of CGNNs with different output functions are less restrictive. More specifically, the algebraic criteria of the generalized model are applicable to several well-known neural network models by taking special parameters, and multiple different output functions are introduced to replace some of the same output functions, which improves the diversity of output results for the design of neural networks. In addition, the estimation of relative convergence rate of ψ -type stability is determined by the parameters of CGNNs and the selection of ψ -type functions. As a result, the existing results on multistability and monostability can be improved and extended. Finally, some numerical simulations are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

General memristor with applications in multilayer neural networks

Memristor describes the relationship between charge and flux. Although several window functions for memristors based on the HP linear and nonlinear dopant drift models have been studied, most of them are inadequate to capture the full characteristics of memristors. To address this issue, this paper proposes a unified window function to describe a general memristor with restrictions of its parameters given. Compared with other window functions, the proposed function demonstrates high validity and accuracy. In order to make the simulation results have high consistency with the results of actual circuit, we apply the new window function to the simulation of a memristor-based multilayer neural network (MNN) circuit. The overall accuracy will vary with the change of control parameters in the window function. It implies that the proposed model can guide the design of actual memristor-based circuits.
