Abstract
Pediatric swallowing disorders are common yet often overlooked neuro-muscular system diseases that significantly impact the quality of life and development of affected children. This study aims to explore the effect of combined application of oral rehabilitation training and neuromuscular electrical stimulation on improving pediatric swallowing disorders. Children meeting the inclusion criteria for swallowing disorders were divided into control and experimental groups based on different intervention protocols. The experimental group received combined oral rehabilitation training and neuromuscular electrical stimulation, while the control group received only oral rehabilitation training. Results showed that the intervention was more effective in the experimental group, with shorter recovery time for normal swallowing function and improved nutritional status and quality of life. This study provides scientific evidence for clinical treatment of pediatric swallowing disorders. In conclusion, the combined application of oral rehabilitation training and neuromuscular electrical stimulation effectively improves pediatric swallowing disorders, with superior efficacy compared to single treatment methods. Further research is needed to elucidate the mechanism of action and optimize treatment protocols to enhance the therapeutic outcomes and prognosis of pediatric swallowing disorders.

Abstract
PURPOSE School-based speech-language pathologists are at the frontline for treating children with pediatric feeding disorders (PFDs). Often, speech-language pathologists are the primary allied health professionals who are charged with maximizing safety, supporting nutrition and neurodevelopmental growth. Due to the increasing need for assessment and treatment of PFDs in schools, it is fundamental that PFDs and dysphagia are detected, differentially diagnosed, and addressed to support developing children. This tutorial addresses the anatomy, physiology, and development of functional feeding and swallowing patterns across the spectrum of childhood for both PFDs and dysphagia. METHOD A clinical expert review of the anatomy, physiology, and development of functional feeding and swallowing patterns in children across the spectrum of childhood will be completed. CONCLUSIONS The aim of this tutorial is to support school-based speech-language pathologists in their understanding of the anatomy and physiology of feeding and swallowing. School-based speech-language pathologists should complete this tutorial with an increased understanding and breadth of knowledge related to typical anatomy and physiology versus atypical or disordered presentations. This tutorial would support school-based speech-language pathologists in determining whether a child presents with characteristics of oropharyngeal dysphagia and/or a PFD.

Abstract
Swallowing disorder is prevalent in children with cerebral palsy (CP), and previous studies have shown that motor-based programs benefit children with CP by facilitating motor learning. We hypothesized that action observation training (AOT) could enhance motor learning and improve the oral phase of swallowing in children. In this two-group parallel double-blind randomized controlled trial, the intervention group received AOT and sensorimotor therapy, while the control group received a sham and sensorimotor therapy. The function of the oral phase of swallowing, as the primary outcome, was measured pre-intervention, post-intervention, and at one month of follow-up. Secondary outcomes included reported symptoms of feeding problems and the impact of the child's swallowing disorder on the main caregiver, which were measured pre-intervention and post-intervention. The result of the Mann-Whitney U test showed a significant difference between the two groups in the function of the oral phase of swallowing after the intervention. Additionally, the intervention had a large effect size. However, no significant difference was found in the parent-reported scores of the feeding/swallowing impact survey and symptoms of feeding problems between the two groups. In conclusion, this pilot study provides preliminary evidence of the clinical efficacy of AOT as a safe neurorehabilitation method to improve the oral phase of swallowing in children with CP. However more studies are needed in the future.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to define swallowing and feeding-related problems among typically developing children aged between 2 and 6 years. The presence of food selectivity, limited appetite, chewing dysfunction, and dysphagia signs was questioned and scored as "absent" or "present" according to parent report. Children were divided into 2 groups: children with swallowing and feeding disorders and children without swallowing and feeding disorders. The Turkish version of the Behavioral Pediatrics Feeding Assessment Scale (T-BPFAS) was used to evaluate feeding behaviors of children, and Turkish version of the Feeding/Swallowing Impact Survey (T-FS-IS) was used to measure the impact on caregivers. A total of 234 children were included. Food selectivity was defined in 62.4% (n = 146), limited appetite in 26.9% (n = 63), and chewing dysfunction in 7.3% (n = 17). The most common dysphagia-related sign was coughing. There were significant differences between groups in terms of both T-BPFAS and T-FS-IS (P < .001). In conclusion, children with typical development have experienced a wide range of swallowing and feeding-related problems, which have an impact on mothers' perceptions regarding feeding and their quality of life.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Currently, there is no comprehensive and multidisciplinary recommendation study covering all aspects of pediatric dysphagia (PD). This study aimed to generate PD management recommendations with methods that can be used in clinical practice to fill this gap in our country and in the world, from the perspective of experienced multidisciplinary experts. METHODS This recommendation paper was generated by a multidisciplinary team, using the seven-step process and a three-round modified Delphi survey via e-mail. First, ten open-ended questions were created, and then detailed recommendations including management, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up were created with the answers from these questions. Each recommendation item was voted on by the experts as overall consensus (strong recommendation), approaching consensus (weak recommendation) and divergent consensus (not recommended). RESULTS In the 1st Delphi round, a questionnaire of 414 items was prepared based on the experts' responses to ten open-ended questions. In the 2nd Delphi round, 59.2% of these items were accepted as pre-recommendation. In the 3rd Delphi round, 62.6% of 246 items were accepted for inclusion in the proposals. The final version recommendations consisted of 154 items. CONCLUSIONS This study includes comprehensive and detailed answers for every problem that could be posed in clinical practice for the management of PD, and recommendations are for all pediatric patients with both oropharyngeal and esophageal dysphagia.
