Abstract
INTRODUCTION This study evaluated and compared the amount of apically extruded debris, unprepared wall surface areas, and dentinal crack formation resulting from root canal preparation using ProTaper Next (PTN), ProTaper Ultimate (PTU), and R-Motion (RM) file systems. METHODS Forty-five palatal roots of maxillary first molars were shortened to a uniform length of 12 mm. The samples were divided randomly into 3 groups (n = 15/group) to be prepared using either PTN, PTU, and RM file systems. The investigator adopted modified Myers and Montgomery's approach to replicate the temperature of the human body. Debris was collected in vials and weighed before and after instrumentation with a sensitive balance. Every specimen was irrigated using distilled water during preparation, utilizing a side-vented needle. Weight before instrumentation was subtracted from weight after instrumentation to identify the weight of the collected debris. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans were taken before and after canal preparation using a Planmeca ProMax CBCT machine. The unprepared canal surface area was calculated by superimposing preoperative and postoperative CBCT images using the Mimics Medical program. After preparation, a low-speed diamond disc horizontally sectioned the roots at 3, 6, and 9 millimeters from the apex. The specimens were examined under a digital microscope to detect crack formation. Statistical analysis was carried out using one-way (ANOVA) and Tukey (HSD) tests, with a significance level of P < .05. RESULTS There was no statistically significant difference in the quantity of debris extruded apically and dentinal crack numbers among the 3 shaping files (P > .05). Only the apical third of root canals prepared by PTU displayed a significantly lower unprepared surface area compared to PTN and RM. CONCLUSIONS Instrumentation with PTN, PTU, and RM yielded similar amounts of apically extruded debris and dentinal cracks. The PTU files demonstrated higher effectiveness in preparing the apical third by reducing the unprepared surface area in the prepared root canal.

Abstract
Background/purpose The effectiveness of root canal treatments with different file systems in primary teeth is important in terms of clinical practice and the use of file systems that work with different principles in primary tooth pulpectomy is becoming widespread. The amount of remaining dentin in the coronal region of the root is important in terms of the prognosis of the tooth and the long-term success of the treatment in teeth that have undergone root canal treatment. The aim of this study was to evaluate the remaining dentin volume in the coronal part of the root after the use of rotary, reciprocating, and conventional hand files in primary tooth pulpectomy. Materials and methods A total of 30 primary molars were divided into three groups. In each group, the preparations were made with three different file types: WaveOne Gold, which works with reciprocating motion; TruNatomy, which works with rotational motion; and conventional hand files. The three-dimensional images were evaluated for remaining dentin volume in the 2-mm coronal part of the root. Group means were compared using one-way analysis of variance, and post hoc analyses were performed with the Tukey test. Results There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of preoperative and postoperative dentin volume (P > 0.05). The mean difference after preparation was observed the most in the WaveOne Gold group and the least in the TruNatomy group. When the mean percentage differences were evaluated, it was observed that statistically significantly more dentin volume was preserved after the preparation with TruNatomy than with WaveOne Gold (P = 0.021). Conclusion In primary tooth pulpectomy, file systems working with rotational motion can be preferred over file systems working with reciprocating motion in preserving the amount of dentin in the 2-mm coronal part of the root.

Abstract
This research examines canal transportation and centering ability of single-file systems when operated in continuous rotation or reciprocation. Sixty J-shaped resin blocks were used. The specimens were divided into two main groups (n = 30). Then, based on the motion used to operate the instruments, each group was subdivided into two subgroups (n = 15). Group A1: One Curve/rotation, Group A2: One Curve/clockwise reciprocation, Group B1: WaveOne Gold/Reciprocation, Group B2: WaveOne Gold/counter-clockwise rotation. Pre- and post-instrumentation images were obtained using digital microscope. Canal transportation was measured at five levels. A non-significant difference (p > 0.05) resulted between two motions at all levels. However, group A1 showed significantly less transportation at levels 3 and 4 (p ≤ 0.05), also more centered preparation at level 4 (p ≤ 0.05) than group B1. Within the limitations of this study, the apical transportation and centering ability of single-file systems are unaffected by different kinematics.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To evaluate the amount of remaining filing material and apical debris extrusion after retreatment using Reciproc Blue, Hyflex EDM and ProTaper Retreatment Files. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty-six extracted permanent mandibular first molars with moderately curved mesial roots were selected. Mesiobuccal canals were prepared using the ProTaper Next system up to size X2 and filled using gutta-percha and Adseal sealer via cold lateral compaction. Teeth were randomly divided into three equal groups (n = 12): Group 1: Reciproc Blue (RB)(VDW, Germany), Group 2: Hyflex EDM (HEDM)(Coltene/Whaledent, Switzerland), Group 3: ProTaper Universal Retreatment file system + ProTaper Next file system (PTUR + PTN)( Dentsply Maillefer, Switzerland). Eppendorf tubes were used to collect the apically extruded debris. Cone-beam computed tomographic scans were taken prior to and after retreatment and the volume of remaining filling material was assessed at the coronal, middle and apical levels. Statistical analysis was performed using the Kruskal-Wallis test, Friedman's test and Wilcoxon Sign Rank test. Significance level was set at p value 0.05. RESULTS There were no statistically significant differences among the three groups in the reduction of the volume of the filling material or in the amount of apically extruded debris. CONCLUSION All the tested filing systems showed similar efficacy in removing the filling material, however, none of them could achieve its complete removal. Apical extrusion of debris occurred with all the systems used with no significant difference between the three groups.

Abstract
To compare the amount of extruded debris caused by different motions using a single-file system. Fifty mandibular first molar teeth were randomized into 5 groups (n = 10) according to the motion tested: Optimize Torque Reverse (OTR), TF Adaptive Motion (TFA), continuous rotation (CR), reciprocation motion (+ 150°, -30°) (REC), and Jeni motion (Jeni). One Curve single file 25/06 (Micro-Mega, Besançon, France) was used in all experimental groups. The root canals were irrigated with 2.5% NaOCl, and the extruded debris were collected at pre-weighted glass vials. The glass vials were kept inside an incubator for one week at 70 °C to dry out the irrigating solution. The extruded debris was quantified by subtracting the pre-instrumentation from the post-instrumentation weight of the glass vials. The time required for each instrumentation procedure was digitally recorded. All data were analyzed statistically with one way ANOVA and post hoc Tukey test (P < 0.05). All the motions extruded apically debris with Jeni mode caused significantly less debris extrusion than TFA, REC, and CR (P < 0.05) while no significant difference emerged with OTR. Preparation time was not significantly different in all groups. Within the limits of the present study, all the kinematics produced apically debris extrusion, with Jeni reporting a similar amount of debris compared with OTR and significantly less than TFA, REC, and CR. Preparation time was similar among the tested kinematics.

Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the amount of apically extruded debris caused by different NiTi files. One hundred mandibular premolars were included in this study. The specimens were divided into five groups (n = 20): (i) TruNatomy, (ii) WaveOne Gold, (iii) 2Shape, (iv) ProTaper Next and (v) Reciproc Blue. The extruded debris was collected into preweighed Eppendorf tubes. These tubes were weighed again, and the net weight of debris was calculated. Data were statistically analysed, and the significance level was set at 5%. The least amount of extruded debris was observed in the TruNatomy group (p < 0.05). Statistically significant differences were not found among (iii), (iv) and (v) groups (p > 0.05). However, these groups resulted in significantly higher amounts of debris when compared to (i) and (ii) groups (p < 0.05). The results lead us to conclude that all instrumentation systems caused apical extrusion of debris at varying weights.

Abstract
Objective This study aims to assess the impact of re-establishing apical patency on the quantity of debris extruded through the apex after three supplementary retreatment files (TruNatomy (TRN), WaveOne Gold (WOG), and XP endo Finisher R (XPFR)). Materials and Methods Eighty single-rooted mandibular premolars were prepared with ProTaper Universal rotary systems (PTU) up to F3 and obturated. The samples were divided into two main groups according to the presence or absence of the apical patency (n = 40), GI with apical patency and GII without apical patency. Based on the file system, which was adopted to eliminate the previous filling, each group had four subgroups (n = 10). In GI PTUR and GII PTUR, ProTaper Universal retreatment files (PTUR) were utilized only to remove the most primary filling material (control groups). In the other groups (PTUR) used, it was first followed by supplementary files. The quantity of debris extruded by different retreatment file systems was determined and compared to the corresponding control group with or without apical patency. Data were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA with a post hoc Tukey's multiple comparison test at a 5% significance level. Results There was a statistically significant difference among the control and experimental groups. XPFR had the least quantity of extruded debris. Apical patency did not affect the debris extrusion. Conclusion All tested files led to a significant apical debris extrusion regardless of apical patency.

Objective
This study compared the quantity of extruded debris after instrumentation with TRUShape 3D Conforming files, TruNatomy files, and the WaveOne Gold reciprocating system.
Materials and methods
Fifty-one mesiobuccal canals with severe curvatures (25–40°) were assigned to three equal groups according to the rotary system used for preparation, either TRUShape, TruNatomy, or WaveOne Gold files. The extruded debris was collected in pre-weighed glass vials. The data were statistically analyzed using a one-way ANOVA test and Tukey’s post hoc test.
Results
The least extruded debris was obtained with the WaveOne Gold instruments compared to the TRUShape and TruNatomy files (p < 0.001).
Conclusions
Debris extrusion occurs independently of the motion or design of the instrument. The WaveOne Gold system outperformed TRUShape and TruNatomy files in this study.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIM The aim of this study is to evaluate the apical debris extrusion amounts and preparation times of four different nickel-titanium systems with a similar cross-section design-Mtwo, RECIPROC, RECIPROC blue, and VDW.ROTATE. MATERIALS AND METHODS Eighty human mandibular central incisors were divided into four equal groups (n = 20). The test apparatus was inserted into an assembly that provided root canal temperature. Preparation times were recorded using a stopwatch, and the amount of extruded debris was collected in pre-weighed Eppendorf tubes. After drying, the net amount was determined by subtracting the previously measured Eppendorf tube weights from the total weight. RESULTS The Mtwo had the largest amount of debris, but there was no significant difference among the other groups. The VDW.ROTATE completed the preparation in a significantly shorter time than the RECIPROC blue and Mtwo. CONCLUSION Compared to other files, the Mtwo sequence produced significantly more debris and required significantly more time to complete the whole root canal preparation.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The present study addresses the influence of 5 different shaping file systems on apical debris extrusion (AED) using 2 different irrigation protocols. METHODS One hundred fifty mandibular first permanent molars were divided into 2 groups and 10 subgroups. The mesial root canals were shaped using One Reci (MicroMega), WaveOne Gold Primary (Dentsply Sirona, York, PA), and ProTaper Next (Dentsply Sirona) using reciprocating motion and One Curve (MicroMega) and ProTaper Next using continuous rotation. The first group and the second one were respectively irrigated with 10 and 5 mL distilled water. RESULTS When the same instrumentation technique was used, the G10 mL subgroups showed statistically lower AED than the G5 mL subgroups (P < .05). The One Reci and One Curve subgroups, in both groups, produced statistically lower AED than the remaining subgroups. CONCLUSIONS The cross section of the instrument could be the main parameter in determining the amount of AED. The irrigation volume used during the shaping procedure might affect the amount of AED.

Abstract
The apically extruded debris caused by TruNatomy System (TRN), RACE EVO system (RE) and VDW Rotate (VR) systems in mandibular anterior teeth with ribbon-shaped root canals were compared. The root canals (n = 20 in each group) were irrigated with NaOCl 2.5%, and the extruded debris was collected at pre-weighted Eppendorf tubes. The amount of apically extruded debris (mg) and the treatment time (s) were recorded. Tukey pairwise comparisons were performed to compare groups with a 95% confidence level. VR had significantly less debris extrusion values and treatment time than RE and TRN (P < 0.05). Although no difference was observed between RE and TRN in terms of apically extruded debris (P > 0.05), a significant difference in favour of RE was observed in terms of treatment time (P < 0.05). All the instruments extruded debris at varying weights.
