Abstract
Crohn's disease (CD) poses significant morbidity, underscoring the need for effective, non-invasive inflammatory assessment using magnetic resonance enterography (MRE). This literature review evaluates recent publications on the role of deep learning in improving MRE for CD assessment. We searched MEDLINE/PUBMED for studies that reported the use of deep learning algorithms for assessment of CD activity. The study was conducted according to the PRISMA guidelines. The risk of bias was evaluated using the QUADAS-2 tool. Five eligible studies, encompassing 468 subjects, were identified. Our study suggests that diverse deep learning applications, including image quality enhancement, bowel segmentation for disease burden quantification, and 3D reconstruction for surgical planning are useful and promising for CD assessment. However, most of the studies are preliminary, retrospective studies, and have a high risk of bias in at least one category. Future research is needed to assess how deep learning can impact CD patient diagnostics, particularly when considering the increasing integration of such models into hospital systems.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Cine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has emerged as a noninvasive method to quantitatively assess bowel motility. However, its accuracy in measuring various degrees of small bowel motility has not been extensively evaluated. We aimed to draw a quantitative small bowel motility score from cine MRI and evaluate its performance in a population with varying degrees of small bowel motility. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 174 participants (28.5 ± 7.6 years; 135 males) underwent a 22-second-long cine MRI sequence (2-dimensional balanced turbo-field echo; 0.5 seconds per image) approximately 5 minutes after being intravenously administered 10 mg of scopolamine-N-butyl bromide to deliberately create diverse degrees of small bowel motility. In a manually segmented area of the small bowel, motility was automatically quantified using a nonrigid registration and calculated as a quantitative motility score. The mean value (MV) of motility grades visually assessed by two radiologists was used as a reference standard. The quantitative motility score's correlation (Spearman's ρ) with the reference standard and performance (area under the receiver operating characteristics curve [AUROC], sensitivity, and specificity) for diagnosing adynamic small bowel (MV of 1) were evaluated. RESULTS For the MV of the quantitative motility scores at grades 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, and 3, the mean ± standard deviation values were 0.019 ± 0.003, 0.027 ± 0.010, 0.033 ± 0.008, 0.032 ± 0.009, and 0.043 ± 0.013, respectively. There was a significant positive correlation between the quantitative motility score and the MV (ρ = 0.531, P < 0.001). The AUROC value for diagnosing a MV of 1 (i.e., adynamic small bowel) was 0.953 (95% confidence interval, 0.923-0.984). Moreover, the optimal cutoff for the quantitative motility score was 0.024, with a sensitivity of 100% (15/15) and specificity of 89.9% (143/159). CONCLUSION The quantitative motility score calculated from a cine MRI enables diagnosis of an adynamic small bowel, and potentially discerns various degrees of bowel motility.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW To provide an update on the recent evidence underpinning the approach to nutritional care in patients with severe primary chronic small bowel dysmotility. RECENT FINDINGS Patients with severe chronic small intestinal dysmotility suffer nutritional and nonnutritional morbidity, both as a result of their underlying polysymptomatic, poorly understood condition and the interventions required. A proportion require artificial nutrition support; however, this is associated with impaired quality of life and associated complications. The approach to nutritional support must therefore engage a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure that decisions to escalate beyond oral nutrition reflect individualised risk-benefit discussions while adopting a holistic approach to symptom management. Since nutritional outcomes are worse in those with the chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIPO) phenotype, differentiation into CIPO and non-CIPO subgroups, using a pragmatic diagnostic approach rather than invasive/poorly tolerated investigations, can be an important step in achieving nutritional care tailored to the individual. SUMMARY Malnutrition in patients with severe chronic small intestinal dysmotility is multifactorial. Early engagement of a broad team that includes dietitians, psychologists and pain management experts is crucial to achieving the most beneficial and least harmful patient-centred nutritional care outcomes.

Abstract
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) remains one of the most common gastrointestinal disorders seen by clinicians in both primary and secondary care. Since publication of the last British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) guideline in 2007, substantial advances have been made in understanding its complex pathophysiology, resulting in its re-classification as a disorder of gut-brain interaction, rather than a functional gastrointestinal disorder. Moreover, there has been a considerable amount of new evidence published concerning the diagnosis, investigation and management of IBS. The primary aim of this guideline, commissioned by the BSG, is to review and summarise the current evidence to inform and guide clinical practice, by providing a practical framework for evidence-based management of patients. One of the strengths of this guideline is that the recommendations for treatment are based on evidence derived from a comprehensive search of the medical literature, which was used to inform an update of a series of trial-based and network meta-analyses assessing the efficacy of dietary, pharmacological and psychological therapies in treating IBS. Specific recommendations have been made according to the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation system, summarising both the strength of the recommendations and the overall quality of evidence. Finally, this guideline identifies novel treatments that are in development, as well as highlighting areas of unmet need for future research.

Abstract
Chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction is a severe gastrointestinal tract disorder mimicking a bowel obstruction with no mechanical causes. Our patient presented with bowel obstruction symptoms, and a thymoma was incidentally found during the diagnostic workup. After failing conservative management, the patient underwent exploratory laparotomy that showed negative results for a mechanical cause of obstruction. Laboratory workup was suggestive of paraneoplastic syndrome, and the patient was started on steroids and pyridostigmine course with symptom resolution. Thus, in patients with chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction, paraneoplastic syndrome should be considered in the differential diagnosis.

Abstract
Severe gastrointestinal motility disorders with small bowel involvement continue to pose a major clinical challenge to clinicians, particularly because of the limitations of diagnostic tests and the lack of efficacious treatment options. In this article, we review current understanding and the utility of diagnostic modalities and therapeutic approaches, and describe how their limitations may potentially exacerbate prolonged suffering with debilitating symptoms, diagnostic delays, the risk of iatrogenic harm and increased healthcare utilisation in this group of patients. Moreover, observations from intestinal failure units worldwide suggest that this problem could be set to increase in the future, with reported trends of increasing numbers of patients presenting with nutritional consequences. Unfortunately, until recently, there has been a lack of consensus recommendations and guidance to support clinicians with their management approach. The aim of this narrative review is to summarise recent developments in this field following publication of an international census of experts, and subsequent clinical guidelines, which have emphasized the importance of holistic, multidisciplinary care. This is particularly important in achieving good clinical outcomes and ensuring the appropriate use of artificial nutritional support, in order to prevent iatrogenic harm. We discuss how these recent developments may impact clinical practice by supporting the development of specialised clinical services to deliver optimal care, and highlight areas where further research is needed.

Abstract
Adult patients with severe chronic small intestinal dysmotility are not uncommon and can be difficult to manage. This guideline gives an outline of how to make the diagnosis. It discusses factors which contribute to or cause a picture of severe chronic intestinal dysmotility (eg, obstruction, functional gastrointestinal disorders, drugs, psychosocial issues and malnutrition). It gives management guidelines for patients with an enteric myopathy or neuropathy including the use of enteral and parenteral nutrition.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIPO) and enteric dysmotility (ED) are small intestinal motility disorders defined by radiological and manometric criteria. In the absence of consensus guidelines, we surveyed opinions on the diagnosis and management of CIPO and ED among experts from different countries. METHODS A survey questionnaire was circulated electronically to members of the European society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility, and United European Gastroenterology. Only responses from participants completing all required components were included. KEY RESULTS Of 154 participants, 93% agreed that CIPO and ED should be classified separately. Overall, 73% reported an increasing incidence of CIPO and ED, with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome the group with the largest increase in referrals (37%), particularly in the UK (P < .0001). The majority (95%) find diagnosing CIPO and ED difficult. Notably, antroduodenal manometry, a test mandated to diagnose ED, is infrequently used (only 21% respondents use in >50% cases) and full thickness biopsies were reported to seldom influence medical treatment, nutritional management, and prognosis. Respondents reported that very few treatments are useful for most patients, with bacterial overgrowth treatment, prucalopride, and psychological therapies felt to be the most useful. While only 23% of clinicians felt that parenteral nutrition (PN) improves gastrointestinal symptoms in >50% of cases, 68% reported PN dependency at 5 years in the majority of cases. CONCLUSIONS AND INFERENCES These data highlight the difficulties with diagnosing and managing CIPO and ED and underscore the urgent need for international, multidisciplinary, clinical practice guidelines.

Abstract
Chronic small bowel pseudo-obstruction is rare, and the disease process is poorly understood. Its clinical picture and radiographic findings can resemble mechanical small bowel obstruction and may lead to unnecessary surgery. We report a case of a 68-year-old man who presented acutely with severe abdominal distension and pain after a recent laparoscopic adhesiolysis. His abdominal CT scan revealed grossly distended small bowel with pneumatosis intestinalis and free intraperitoneal air, which led to an exploratory laparotomy. He had a history of having undergone numerous radiological and endoscopic investigations and multiple laparotomies/laparoscopic procedures but without a definitive diagnosis. Subsequent episodes of small bowel pseudo-obstruction occurred, and he developed intestinal failure. His care required the input of multiple healthcare professionals. He was ultimately referred to the National Intestinal Failure Unit for further assessment and management.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Small bowel dysmotility is a broad heterogeneous term that encompasses a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders resulting from abnormal gut motility. Chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIPO) is a severe, rare, and complex small bowel motility disorder at the extreme end of this spectrum. It is characterized by failure of the intestinal tract to propel contents, which results in signs and symptoms of bowel obstruction albeit in the absence of any obstructive lesion(s). In this article, we discuss up-to-date diagnostic techniques, management options, and histopathological findings in CIPO. RECENT FINDINGS We will emphasize the latest diagnostic methodologies and therapeutic options as well as enteric histopathologic abnormalities in patients with CIPO. CIPO continues to be a clinical challenge. Several novel pharmacological agents hold promise including gastrointestinal hormone agonists and prokinetics. Furthermore, histopathologic findings may help guide therapy and provide further prognostic significance. At present, nutritional support, symptom management, and avoidance of long-term complications are the mainstay of treatment in CIPO.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Continuously tagged MRI during free breathing can assess bowel motility at frequencies as low as the slow wave, motility pattern range. This study aimed to evaluate noninvasive gastrointestinal-tagged MRI for small bowel motility assessment and to observe the physiological response to a 300-kcal meal challenge in healthy, overnight-fasted volunteers. METHODS After overnight fasting, 16 healthy subjects (7 women, mean age 25.5, range 19-37 years) underwent a free breathing, tagged MRI scan to capture small bowel motility. Each subject underwent a (a) baseline motility scan, (b) food challenge, (c) postchallenge scan, and (d) second postchallenge scan (after 20 minutes). Motility was quantified using a frequency analysis technique for measuring the spectral power of the strain, referred to as motility score. Motility score was assessed in 20 frequency intervals between 1 and 20 contractions per minute (cpm), and the data were analyzed with linear mixed-effect models. KEY RESULT The stimulation protocol demonstrated an immediate, food-induced, motility response in the low-frequency range (2-10 cpm), which is consistent with the stomach and small bowel frequency range (3-12 cpm). CONCLUSIONS AND INFERENCES This study shows that this MRI tagging technique is able to quantify the fasted-to-fed response to a 300-kcal meal challenge within the specific small bowel motility frequency range in healthy subjects. The food provocation MRI protocol provides a tool to explore the gut's response to a stimulus in specific motility frequency ranges in patients with gastrointestinal dysmotility and functional disorders.

Abstract
Chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction (CIPO) is a severe form of intestinal dysmotility disorder, characterized by the impairment of gastrointestinal propulsion of the gut content in the absence of fixed occluding lesions. CIPO is a rare disease that can develop in both children and adults. CIPO is classified as primary/idiopathic, when no underlying disorder is demonstrated, or secondary, when related to systemic diseases. Diagnosis relies on the finding of chronic/recurrent obstructive type symptoms with radiological features of dilated intestine with air/fluid levels without any lumen occluding lesion. Therapy is based on nutrition, pharmacologic and surgical intervention and requires a multidisciplinary approach.

Abstract
The decision to commence jejunal feeding in patients with structural abnormalities, which prevent oral or intragastric feeding, is usually straightforward. However, decisions surrounding the need for jejunal feeding can be more complex in individuals with no clear structural abnormality, but rather with foregut symptoms and pain-predominant presentations, suggesting a functional origin. This appears to be an increasing issue in polysymptomatic patients with multi-system involvement. We review the differential diagnosis together with the limitations of available functional clinical tests; symptomatic management options to avoid escalation where possible including for patients on opioids; tube feeding options where necessary; and an approach to weaning from established jejunal feeding in the context of a multidisciplinary approach to minimise iatrogenesis.

Abstract
Capsule endoscopy (CE) has proved to be a powerful tool in the diagnosis and management of small bowel disorders since its introduction in 2001. However, white light imaging (WLI) is the principal technology used in clinical CE at present, and therefore, CE is limited to mucosal inspection, with diagnosis remaining reliant on visible manifestations of disease. The introduction of WLI CE has motivated a wide range of research to improve its diagnostic capabilities through integration with other sensing modalities. These developments have the potential to overcome the limitations of WLI through enhanced detection of subtle mucosal microlesions and submucosal and/or transmural pathology, providing novel diagnostic avenues. Other research aims to utilize a range of sensors to measure physiological parameters or to discover new biomarkers to improve the sensitivity, specificity and thus the clinical utility of CE. This multidisciplinary Review summarizes research into non-WLI CE devices by organizing them into a taxonomic structure on the basis of their sensing modality. The potential of these capsules to realize clinically useful virtual biopsy and computer-aided diagnosis (CADx) is also reported.

Polyglucosan inclusion body myopathy (PIBM) is a recently described gastrointestinal neuromuscular disease. Given its rarity, very little is known of its natural history and prognosis. In this case report, we present the first case of PIBM and resultant intestinal failure in which, following 7 years of home parenteral nutrition, gastrointestinal symptoms subsided and nutrition autonomy was restored.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE MRI is increasingly used to evaluate small bowel contractility. The objective of this study was to validate a clinically practical stimulation test (300-kcal meal) for small bowel motility. METHODS Thirty-one healthy subjects underwent dynamic MRI to capture global small bowel motility after ±10h fasting, of which 15 underwent bowel preparation consisting of 1 L 2.5% mannitol solution and 16 did not. Each subject underwent (1) a baseline motility scan (2) a food challenge (3) a post-challenge scan, and (4) second post-challenge scan (after ±20 minutes). This protocol was repeated within 2 weeks. Motility was quantified using a validated motility assessment technique. KEY RESULTS Motility in prepared subjects at baseline was significantly higher than motility in unprepared subjects (0.36 AU vs 0.18 AU, P < 0.001). In the prepared group, the food challenge produced an 8% increase in motility (P = 0.33) while in the unprepared subjects a significant increase of 30% was observed (P < 0.001). Responses to food remained insignificant (P = 0.21) and significant (P = 0.003), for the prepared and unprepared subjects, respectively, ±20 minutes post food challenge. These results were confirmed in the repeated scan session. CONCLUSION & INFERENCES A significant response to a 300-kcal meal was measured within 10 minutes in unprepared bowel, supporting the clinical use of this challenge to provoke and assess motility changes. A caloric challenge did not produce an observable increase in motility in mannitol prepared subjects.

Abstract
Although classification criteria for systemic sclerosis (SSc) do not incorporate gastrointestinal tract (GIT) manifestations often present in this disease, the GIT is the most common internal organ involved. Pathophysiology of GIT involvement is thought to be similar to other organs in SSc with fibroproliferative vascular lesions of small arteries and arterioles, increased production of profibrotic growth factors, and alterations of innate, humoral, and cellular immunity. These processes result in neuropathy progressing to myopathy with eventual fibrosis. Proper diagnostics and therapeutics for SSc-GIT involvement require the treating physician to have an understanding of an integrated approach and potential medication adverse effects.

Abstract
The diagnostic evaluation of a patient with suspected postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) requires a thoughtful diagnostic approach utilizing a careful clinical history and examination, laboratory, and autonomic testing. This article outlines the importance of a thorough history in identifying mechanism of symptom onset, clinical features, associated clinical conditions or disorders, and factors that may result in symptom exacerbation. The clinical examination involves an assessment of pupillary responses, an evaluation for sudomotor and vasomotor signs, and an assessment for joint hypermobility. Laboratory testing helps to exclude mimics of autonomic dysfunction, recognize conditions that may exacerbate symptoms, and to identify conditions that may cause or be associated with autonomic nervous system disease. The purpose of autonomic testing is to confirm a POTS diagnosis, exclude other causes of orthostatic intolerance, and may provide for characterization of POTS into neuropathic and hyperadrenergic subtypes. Other diagnostic studies, such as epidermal skin punch biopsy, exercise testing, radiographic studies, sleep studies, gastrointestinal motility studies, and urodynamic studies should be considered when clinically appropriate.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal dysmotility (GID) covers a spectrum of disorders disrupting enteric neuromuscular co-ordination which, when severe, causes intractable gastrointestinal symptoms and malnutrition and is a recognized cause of chronic intestinal failure. To date, no study has provided an in-depth account of the experiences of patients with severe GID and their psychosocial needs. This study aimed to explore patients' experiences from symptom onset and the process of seeking and receiving a diagnosis. It specifically explored the psychological effect of this process and the effect on relationships. METHODS Participants (n = 20, mean age = 47.9, female n = 16, parenteral nutrition = 13) were recruited from a UK center with tertiary Neurogastroenterology and Intestinal Failure services. A qualitative exploratory design with semi-structured in-depth interviews was used. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. KEY RESULTS Significant delays were experienced in obtaining a diagnosis. Participants reported having their mental health questioned and felt that they had to fight to prove their symptoms had a physical basis to access appropriate treatment. Although a diagnosis helped legitimize symptoms, the condition remained poorly understood by participants themselves, relatives, and health professionals. Participants discussed the impact that "feeling delegitimized" and the "lack of coherent understanding of GID" had on their relationships and mental health. CONCLUSIONS & INFERENCES The distressing experience of GID symptoms are compounded by a delay in validating symptoms and lack of coherent understanding. More knowledge of GID is needed by health professionals to speed up diagnosis and offer more coherent information. The psychological impact of a GID diagnosis should be acknowledged early to help facilitate adjustment.

Abstract
Intestinal failure (IF) is a debilitating condition of inadequate nutrition due to an anatomical and/or physiological deficit of the intestine. Surgical management of patients with acute and chronic IF requires expertise to deal with technical challenges and make correct decisions. Dedicated IF units have expertise in patient selection, operative risk assessment and multidisciplinary support such as nutritional input and interventional radiology, which dramatically improve the morbidity and mortality of this complex condition and can beneficially affect the continuing dependence on parenteral nutritional support. Currently there is little guidance to bridge the gap between general surgeons and specialist IF surgeons. Fifteen European experts took part in a consensus process to develop guidance to support surgeons in the management of patients with IF. Based on a systematic literature review, statements were prepared for a modified Delphi process. The evidence for each statement was graded using Oxford Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine Levels of Evidence. The current paper contains the statements reflecting the position and practice of leading European experts in IF encompassing the general definition of IF surgery and organization of an IF unit, strategies to prevent IF, management of acute IF, management of wound, fistula and stoma, rehabilitation, intestinal and abdominal reconstruction, criteria for referral to a specialist unit and intestinal transplantation.

Abstract
This review focuses on the acquired causes, diagnosis, and treatment of intestinal malabsorption. Intestinal absorption is a complex process that depends on many variables, including the digestion of nutrients within the intestinal lumen, the absorptive surface of the small intestine, the membrane transport systems, and the epithelial absorptive enzymes. Acquired causes of malabsorption are classified by focussing on the three phases of digestion and absorption: 1) luminal/digestive phase, 2) mucosal/absorptive phase, and 3) transport phase. Most acquired diseases affect the luminal/digestive phase. These include short bowel syndrome, extensive small bowel inflammation, motility disorders, and deficiencies of digestive enzymes or bile salts. Diagnosis depends on symptoms, physical examination, and blood and stool tests. There is no gold standard for the diagnosis of malabsorption. Further testing should be based on the specific clinical context and the suspected underlying disease. Therapy is directed at nutritional support by enteral or parenteral feeding and screening for and supplementation of deficiencies in vitamins and minerals. Early enteral feeding is important for intestinal adaptation in short bowel syndrome. Medicinal treatment options for diarrhoea in malabsorption include loperamide, codeine, cholestyramine, or antibiotics.

Abstract
PURPOSE To study the feasibility and to gauge the potential clinical impact of quantifying small bowel motility using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in a larger population with a spectra of gastrointestinal conditions with impaired small bowel motility. MATERIALS AND METHODS Data were gathered retrospectively from a cohort of 127 patients undergoing MR enterography (1.5 Tesla) in 2011. Cine motility sequences were processed with validated motility analysis software and a parametric motility map was generated. Regions of interests were drawn in the jejunum, ileum, and terminal ileum, and Jacobian standard deviation mean motility index' score (MIS) was calculated. Patients were divided into Crohn's disease (CD), ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and healthy subjects. RESULTS In CD, terminal ileum motility was lower in comparison to healthy subjects (mean difference: -0.1052 arbitrary units, 95% confidence interval: -0.1981--0.0122, P = 0.018). Subgrouping of CD showed that the difference was recognized in patients with disease limited to the small bowel (mean difference: -0.1440 arbitrary units, 95% confidence interval: -0.2491--0.0389, P = 0.002). Visible dysmotility of terminal ileum on MRI reflected a reduced MIS compared with normal motility (0.22 ± 0.09 and 0.33 ± 0.15 arbitrary units, respectively, P = 0.043). Motility correlated negatively between ileum and age (P = 0.021), and between terminal ileum and C-reactive protein in ulcerative colitis (P = 0.031). CONCLUSION Motility quantitation revealed a significant difference in motility of terminal ileum in patients with small bowel CD compared with healthy subjects, concording with visible dysmotility and inflammatory changes. Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW The gastrointestinal tract is the most common extra-cutaneous organ system involved with systemic sclerosis (SSc) affecting approximately 90% of patients. This review summarizes the recent advances in the evaluation and management of gastrointestinal manifestations of SSc. RECENT FINDINGS There is a growing body of evidence that uncontrolled GERD can play a significant role in the pathogenesis of SSc-associated interstitial lung disease. Newer forms of management of Barrett esophagus are showing significant promise as potentially curative therapy. Gastric antral vascular ectasias have strongly been associated with the presence of RNA polymerase III antibody. Newer technologies have advanced the assessment of gastrointestinal dysmotility in SSc. Evidence of probiotic use for the treatment of gastrointestinal complications is emerging. The UCLA SCTC GIT 2.0 questionnaire is being increasingly accepted by the SSc experts as a validated instrument for evaluation of patient-reported outcomes involving the gastrointestinal tract. SUMMARY Our knowledge of the complex pathogenesis of gastrointestinal manifestations of SSc has expanded substantially in the last few decades. There has also been considerable technological progress in the evaluation of these manifestations. Patient care is being optimized by close collaboration of rheumatologists and gastroenterologists, leading to a more coordinated approach in the management of these complications.

Abstract
BACKGROUND & AIMS Intestinal failure (IF) is not included in the list of PubMed Mesh terms, as failure is the term describing a state of non functioning of other organs, and as such is not well recognized. No scientific society has yet devised a formal definition and classification of IF. The European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism guideline committee endorsed its "home artificial nutrition and chronic IF" and "acute IF" special interest groups to write recommendations on these issues. METHODS After a Medline Search, in December 2013, for "intestinal failure" and "review"[Publication Type], the project was developed using the Delphi round methodology. The final consensus was reached on March 2014, after 5 Delphi rounds and two live meetings. RESULTS The recommendations comprise the definition of IF, a functional and a pathophysiological classification for both acute and chronic IF and a clinical classification of chronic IF. IF was defined as "the reduction of gut function below the minimum necessary for the absorption of macronutrients and/or water and electrolytes, such that intravenous supplementation is required to maintain health and/or growth". CONCLUSIONS This formal definition and classification of IF, will facilitate communication and cooperation among professionals in clinical practice, organization and management, and research.
