Abstract
AIM Evaluation of the push-out bond strength (PBS) of zirconia post-bonded to radicular dentin after using different final irrigants (MTAD, Malachite green (MG), Ti-sapphire laser and Salvadora persica (S.persica). MATERIAL AND METHOD Forty human permanent single-rooted were decoronated above the cement-enamel junction. An experienced endodontist performed all the root canal instrumentation using ProTaper universal rotary files. Canals were irrigated using 5.25% NaOCl solution followed by EDTA as a final sterilant. Obturation with gutta-percha using AH Plus sealer was performed. Post-space preparation was completed using Gates Glidden and specimens were randomly assigned to four groups based on the final disinfectant received (n=10). Group 1: 5.25% NaOCl + MTAD, group 2: 5.25% NaOCl + MG, group 3: 5.25% NaOCl +Ti-sapphire laser, and group 4: 5.25% NaOCl + S. persica. The chemically polymerized resin was used to lute zirconia posts. PBS and failure mode analysis were performed using a universal testing machine and stereomicroscope at 40X magnification. Data were compared between the two groups with 95% CI using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with the Tukey post hoc test. p=0.05. RESULTS Group4(5.25% NaOCl+ S.persica) specimens demonstrated the maximum (8.94±0.14 MPa) bond strength. Conversely, the apical third of Group 2 (5.25% NaOCl+ MG) (2.87±0.15 MPa) samples revealed the minimum bond strength scores. Intergroup comparison exposed that Group 1 (1.3% NaOCl+ MTAD), Group 3 (5.25% NaOCl+Ti-sapphire laser), and Group 4 (5.25% NaOCl+ S. persica) at all three-thirds unveiled no significant difference in PBS (p<0.05). CONCLUSION Ti-sapphire laser and Salvedora Persica possess the potential to be used as a final root canal irrigant to improve the push-out bond strength of zirconia post-to-root dentin.

Abstract
AIM The present study aimed to assess the bond integrity of curcumin photosensitizer (CPS) Photodynamic therapy (PDT) on fiber post disinfection bonded to radicular dentin in comparison to the conventional fiber post sterilant used. MATERIALS AND METHODS Fifty human permanent single-rooted premolars were utilized with the crown part sectioned using up to the cementoenamel junction. Root canal preparation was performed followed by canal obturation with gutta-percha (GP) and resin-based sealer. The post space was prepared using peso reamers leaving 4 mm at the apical part of the post space. Fifty glass fiber posts (GFP) were divided into five groups based on the surface disinfectant (n = 10). group 1: Autoclave sterilization (AS) group 2: chlorhexidine digluconate (CHX dig), group 3: CPS solution, group 4: 35% phosphoric acid (PA) gel, and group 5: No disinfection. Cementation was performed using dual-cure self-etch resin cement. Each tooth was sectioned and placed on the universal testing machine. Failure mode was analyzed using a stereomicroscope at 40x magnification. Statistical analysis was performed using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey multiple comparison tests. (p = 0.05). RESULTS Intragroup comparison analysis demonstrated that group 2 in which 2% CHX dig was used as a post-surface disinfectant revealed the highest bond integrity at all three levels. Group 5 where no disinfectant was used to decontaminate the post surface exhibited the lowest bond values. In all the investigated groups, PBS values showed a downward trend from coronal to the apical third of the post space. Group 1 in which AS was used to sterilize the fiber post and group 3 in which CPS was smeared to decontaminate the GFPs surface-displayed comparable outcomes of PBS to group 5 specimens at all three levels. (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION CHX dig and PA post-surface disinfection displayed a positive impact on bond strength with the radicular dentin. However, CPS and AS do not reveal any effect on the PBS when used for post-decontamination.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to compare the push-out bond strength of fiber posts by using two different resin cement after the treatments of post space with photodynamic therapy, gaseous ozone and conventional disinfection solution. METHODS The root canal treatments of one hundred maxillary incisors were performed. The roots were randomly distributed into 5 groups (n = 20). NaOCl of 2.5% + EDTA of 17% in group 1, CHX of 2% in group 2, toluidine blue + diode laser as the photodynamic therapy (PDT) in group 3 and ozone in group 4 were applied to the post spaces. Group 5 was washed with distilled water as control group. Each group was divided into two subgroups according to the adhesive types and the posts were bonded by using RelyX and LinkForce. The bond strength was calculated using the push-out test method. Resin tag formations were photographed with SEM. The push-out bond strength was analyzed by ANOVA and Tukey tests (p = .05). RESULTS The PDT group, which showed the highest PBS among the groups bonded with LinkForce at all levels, was significantly higher than Ozone and DW groups (p<.05). NaOCl and ozone treatments provided the highest PBS among the groups bonded with RelyX for all levels and this difference was significant according to the DW group (p < .05). CONCLUSION Post space treatments improved the bond strength of the fiber post in both types of resin cement.

Abstract
AIM To assess the efficacy of photosensitizers (CP, riboflavin) and gaseous ozone in comparison to the conventional radicular dentin disinfectant (NaOCl) on push-out bond strength (PBS) of PFRC post cemented to radicular dentin MATERIAL AND METHOD: Human single-rooted teeth were collected, steriled implanted in polyvinyl pipes up to a cement-o-enamel junction and de coronated. Cleaning and shaping of the canal were performed using the crown down technique followed by obturation of the canal space. Canal space was prepared using peso reamers and samples were divided into four groups based on types of canal disinfectant protocols. Group 1: Riboflavin+ 17%EDTA; group 2: Curcumin Photosensitizer + 17% EDTA; group 3: Gaseous Ozone disinfection (O3) +17% EDTA and group 4 control 2.5% NaOCl +17% EDTA. Within the canal space, fiber post was cemented and cured, and thermocycled. PBS was evaluated using a Universal testing machine (UTM) and failure modes using a stereomicroscope at 40x magnification. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to determine the mean and standard deviation of push-out bond strength (PBS). The Tukey multiple comparison tests (p = 0.05) was used to compare the means of PBS RESULTS: The highest PBS was displayed in group 2 CP+ 17% EDTA at all three root levels, coronal (8.81±0.61), middle (7.77±0.55), and apical (5.25±0.61). The lowest PBS was revealed in group 4, disinfected with 2.5% NaOCl +17% EDTA (control) at coronal (6.12±0.54), middle (5.46±0.84), and apical (3.00±1.88) levels. The most prevailed fracture mode was an adhesive failure (cement-dentin interface). CONCLUSION Radicular dentin disinfected with PDT using CP, riboflavin, and O3 displayed similar PBS at all root segments. NaOCl is a convenient, traditional, and commonly used disinfectant, and it's effects on PBS is still controversial.

Abstract
In clinical dentistry, the strength of bonding zirconia posts to root canal dentinal walls currently needs enhancement, and laser application can be an important contribution owing to its features that accommodate adjustable modifications on dental materials. Herein, the effect of different laser treatments applied to dentin surfaces on the strength of bonding zirconia posts to root canal dentinal walls is evaluated by using the pull-out bond strength test in a laboratory setting. A total of 40 single-rooted permanent mandibular premolar teeth that were freshly extracted were used here. The root canal preparation steps were performed using the crown-down technique. Custom-made zirconia posts were produced using CAD/CAM technology. Prior to the application of resin cement, the internal surfaces of the root canals were irradiated using Nd:YAG, Er:YAG, and KTP lasers. Pull-out tests were performed on each specimen by using a universal testing machine. One-way analysis of variance and Tukey post hoc tests were used to compare the pull-out bond strength data. The bond strengths of the laser-treated specimens were greater than those of the untreated controls (p < 0.05). While the value of the pull-out bond strength after Nd:YAG laser treatment was significantly higher than the values obtained after the applications of the Er:YAG and KTP lasers (p < 0.05), the pull-out bond strength after Er:YAG laser treatment was considerably greater than that after KTP laser treatment (p < 0.05). The bond strength between the root canal dentin and the CAD/CAM custom-made zirconia post was improved upon using all the laser modalities in current laboratory settings, among which, application of the Nd:YAG laser was the most successful.

Abstract
The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the adhesion strength of two new fiber post systems (FiberSite™ Post and Cytec™ Blanco Post) cemented with two different adhesive resin cements (Panavia™ SA and Maxcem™ Elite). Root canals of sixty extracted human mandibular premolars were prepared using ProTaper Universal™ rotary files (Dentsply Sirona Endodontics, York, PA, USA). The root canals were irrigated with 5.25% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) during instrumentation. After root canal preparation, the canals were irrigated with 2 mL of 17% EDTA (1 min), followed by 2 mL of 5.25% (5 min) NaOCI, and 2 mL saline. The root canals were dried with paper points and divided randomly into two study groups (n = 30) according to the type of post system: Group 1, FiberSite™ Post (MegaDental, Partanna, Italy); and group 2, Cytec™ Blanco Post (Hahnenkratt, Königsbach-Stein, Germany), with one of the two adhesive resin cements: Subgroup A, Panavia™ SA Cement Plus Automix (Kuraray, Osaka, Japan); subgroup B, Maxcem™ Elite (Kerr, Orange, CA, USA). Following thermocycling, the adhesion strength was evaluated using the push-out adhesion (bond) strength test. Fractographic analysis was performed using stereomicroscope. The data were analyzed using two-way analysis of variance (p = 0.05). The adhesion strength values of both the posts were significantly higher when cemented with subgroup B (Maxcem™ Elite). The highest adhesion strength value was demonstrated by group 1B (FiberSite™ post cemented with Maxcem™ Elite cement). The type of post did not have a significant impact on the bond strength values for either cement material.

Abstract
Introducción: el tratamiento endodóntico es muy solicitado para preservar las piezas dentales, así como la utilización de pernos de fibra cuando el remanente coronario no es el adecuado para recibir una prótesis coronaria, permitiendo de esta manera reconstruir el muñón dental para la posterior colocación de la restauración definitiva. Objetivo: identificar tanto el tratamiento de superficie de pernos de fibra como el irrigante radicular idóneos para conseguir una cementación adecuada; así como conocer cuál es el tratamiento de superficie que produce menos desintegración de las fibras del perno de fibra. Materiales y métodos: se incluyeron 47 artículos publicados en inglés, durante los últimos 20 años, teniendo en cuenta que los mismos se obtuvieron hasta octubre del 2018. Conclusiones: previa la cementación de pernos sean estos de fibra o de cuarzo es indispensable realizar tratamiento de superficie para así mejorar la adhesión, estos pueden ser químicos o físicos, los que ofrecen mejor resultado sin alterar de manera significativa la estructura del mismo es el enarenado con partículas de diamante sintéticas de 1-3 µm seguido de silanización y dentro de los químicos H2O2 al 10% por 1 min seguido de silano. Para obtener mejores resultados se debe accionar el silano a una temperatura de 80°C. En cuanto a protocolos de irrigación depende del sistema de cementación que se vaya a emplear EDTA 18% + Hipoclorito de sodio al 5,25% o EDTA 18% + clorhexidina al 2% cuando se va emplear un cemento autoadhesivoy NaOCl al 11% cuando se utilice el acondicionamiento ácido de lavado y secado.

Abstract
Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of post-space irrigation with NaOCl and CaOCl at different concentrations on the bond strength of posts cemented with a self-adhesive resin cement. Eighty premolars were sectioned 14 mm from the apex, and endodontically treated. The root canal filling was partially removed. Specimens were randomly assigned into 8 groups (n=10), according to the irrigant for post-space irrigation: SS - 0.9% saline solution (control group); CHX - 2% chlorhexidine; 1% NaOCl - 1% sodium hypochlorite; 2.5% NaOCl - 2.5% sodium hypochlorite; 5% NaOCl - 5% sodium hypochlorite; 1% CaOCl - 1% calcium hypochlorite; 2.5% CaOCl - 2.5% calcium hypochlorite; and 5% CaOCl - 5% calcium hypochlorite. For each group, irrigation was performed continuously with 2 ml of solution. The post-spaces were dried with paper points (#80), and glass fiber posts were cemented using a self-adhesive resin cement. The specimens were sectioned perpendicularly and the push-out test was performed. Optical microscopy was used to analyze the failure mode. ANOVA and Bonferroni tests analyzed the bond strength data. NaOCl and CaOCl presented similar bond strength regardless the concentration used to irrigate the post-space (p>0.05). SS showed the highest bond strength (11.47 MPa) (p<0.05). Adhesive failures at the cement/dentin interface were predominant (58.33%). Saline solution should be irrigant of choice to irrigate the post-space before fiber post cementation with self-adhesive resin cement. NaOCl and CaOCl negatively affect the bond strength values.

Abstract
Background Different disinfectant solutions or medications are indicated prior fiber post bonding procedures.The aim was to evaluate the effect of different pretreatments of root canal on the bond strength of a fiber post luted to dentin with self-adhesive resin cement. Material and Methods Forty-eight single-rooted mandibular premolars were endodontically treated and prepared to receive fiber posts. Teeth were assigned to four groups (n=12). Root canal walls were subjected to no pretreatment (G1 - control); irrigation with 10 mL of 5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) (G2); 10 mL of 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) associated with 10 mL of 5% NaOCl (G3); or 10 mL of 17% EDTA (G4). Fiber posts were bonded with self-adhesive cement. After the roots were sectioned into slices, a push-out bond strength test was performed using a universal testing machine at crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. Bond strength data were recorded and expressed in MPa and analyzed by Anova (5%) and Tukey Test (5%). Results It was found that G2 (9.36 MPa) and G4 (6.33 MPa) were significantly different among themselves and statistically inferior to G1 (13.93 MPa) while G3 (14.31 MPa) was statistically similar to G1 (control) and superior to G2 and G4. Conclusions Irrigation with 17% EDTA associated with 5% NaOCl showed increased bond strength compared with the same solutions used alone. Key words:Self-adhesive, Dentin, Push-out, Bonding.
